RE- Jamie Murphy is maybe the best winger we have pre injury but would have to agree with our management team he is not worth the risk in the SPL and long term, he would be halfed in two within 6 games. Docherty on the other hand I was against but i'm getting swayed on his Hibs games - just don't know what to think, playing for Rangers is just different baby.

TJBB, you answered your own point - playing for Rangers is just different. Different mentality, different level, different expectations, everything. Obviously it hasn't been seen in Docherty.

So what risk are we talking about? Giving him a new contract? Bearing in mind he was playing well before he got injured. He would give us a different option. Docherty would also do a job as I think this might be Davis last season or he will be used sparingly.

Disagree with you to an extent TJBB.
I actually think a fit jamie murphy would go past defenders in the spfl with ease and he most definitely has the end product, as he can score goals! You saw it in a poorer rangers team than we have now.

Correct SGL. He'd be a useful addition to the squad. That's been my only gripe with those wanting Murphy back. He's needing this run of games to get his fitness and confidence back.
Docherty on the other hand is a different subject altogether. You want him to replace Davis AS1974?
But I don't see Docherty being able to fit into our midfield 3 the way Gerrard sets the team up and be able to keep the ball in intricate passes - he's more box to box.
Plus more importantly, I don't think he's good enough.
Here's a question for everyone - after our brilliant comeback win against Braga, was the first thought on your mind Docherty or Murphy? No, it's only because they have scored / assisted again yesterday.

Agree with most points Bears just fear for Murphs knee v astro turf and the usual hammer throwers - think he got halfed in two his first game back If I remember correctly - would finish him for good if he done the knee again.
