Agree Andy, a vital role to have and I was sceptical at first: when you have a good DOF you get Stevie G, when you don’t and leave it to the board you get Neil Lennon 😉👍🏻.

Here, here Andy09. Mark allen has done a terrific job as our director of football, over the last 2 years or so. He's built a very professional,
modern system behind the scenes at the hummel training centre. He also has an array of terrific contacts throughout the footballing circle, which we will sorely miss. His biggest achievement was that he had the vision to bring steven gerrard in as manager, along with his very professional backroom management team. For that we should all be eternally grateful.

If it is man utd that mark allen is going to, then i do wish him all the very best of british, in his new job. The problem now is our board have to replace him, with someone of the same calibre and should take their time in doing so! I would imagine they will be keeping the director of football position, within our structure, but you just never know, as they might withdraw that position altogether. Time will tell.

why would they withdraw it, Mr King said himself the position was vital for the stability of the club. if it was vital 2 years ago why wouldn't it be vital now.

I echo all the positives. I true professional. Imo his best work was restructuring our scouting and youth development. I truly think that over the next 5 years we are going to reap the benefits of having one of the best youth development setups in the UK. Prior to him arriving our club was broken in these key departments.
All the best for the future MA. Ty for all your hard work.

A name I would love to see replacing him is the wee general. Wee Dick as DOF with maybe an assistant DOF in de Boer. I remember when he first arrived, his first job was to promote wee Barry into the first team and get him signed on a long term contract. A clear eye for a player and fantastic contacts throughout the world. Get the wee man out of retirement and pass on his vast knowledge to a DeBoer like caricature. Who would eventually replace him.
