Okay now the dust has settled from yesterday this is my take….
Chermiti actually did pretty well even though he didn't score.
Barron was top class we might struggle to keep him in January. Gassama looked better on the right. Butland has came back to life.
Although we rode our luck in the first 15-20 mins I felt we played well just couldn't score more.
Sterling was a rock again. Fernandes for me is first choice cb.
I don't think we are miles away from a good team.
Get rid of Danilo and bring in replacement then get a midfielder general who likes the dirty side of the game. Then get a new rb and left back with experience I'll be happy
Thoughts.

Completely agree regarding Danilo.
We need a new striker.

Not too concerned about the full back positions, cover for Meghoma and get Aarons in the RB slot. Spine of the team needs strengthening imo so another CB, a midfieder who can dictate play, a new striker and definitely someone who can play on the RW.

Not sure we can make a decent striker from the 3 we have. All are really poor. Danilo needs moved on asap at a heavy loss.

Chermiti did not do well at all I'm afraid, but unfortunately he's the best of a bad bunch and that is the most worrying thing.
He has age on his side and I hope more than believe that if we can get an experienced proven #9 in to mentor him then he can make it at Rangers.

Think we could struggle to move Danilo on tbh as he's shown very little for us, another player who will do well in the correct league but he just won't get the time and space here.
i'd like us to move on Diomande he's been well below par for a long time and was absolutely non existent yesterday along with Tav who is just done he doesn't have the pace and agility to play at the levels that we require any more.
Imo we need to bring in a striker a winger and another CB.

Miovski is the only half decent striker on books if played correctly - Chermiti and Danilo need gone ASAP - but who will take them off our hands for any reasonable sum? ?.

Never did understand the support Danilo got on here? Goes missing for huge parts of games and doesn't score goals!

Tav great servant who is done. He looked done yesterday. Move on head held high, Tav.

Anyone who thinks that Barron will stay at Ibrox às à " squad player" is dilusional. He's far too good for that and will be off às soon às he's dropped. And rightly so.

Look at what we've had and replaced with in the last few years?
To name a few Strikers We've had:
Morelos - feared no one, prolific goal scorer 78 goals over 6 years and top European goal scorer for Rangers in history. Loved the club. (£1.0m).
Dessers - Gave 100% every game and scored 35 goals across 2 years. Loved the club although too many fans were on his case week in week out. Frustrating but his numbers justify his price tag this day and age. (£4.5m).
Colak - Another one who played for the badge and scored 14goals across 1 year. (£1.8m).
Sakala - Another one who loved the club. Ran himself into the ground and chipped in with 21 goals over 2 years. (Free Transfer).
Igamane - Young, raw talent with an eye for goal and same robustness as Morelos. Don't blame him refusing to play for a fraud of a coach (£2.5m).
We've bought
Chermiti at £9m (Needs to go)
Danilo at £6m (Needs to go)
Miovski at £2.6m (Will come good with the right service)
Scouting won't get everything right and there will always be poor signings but the current strikers we have are nowhere near good enough for our league never mind Europe and the price tags are eye watering. Chermiti cost almost more than the 5 mentioned at the top with 3 professional goals to his name with 2 teams over 3 years. Worst signing in Rangers history by a long shot. I wish the kid well and hope he does go on to be a prolific striker but I can't see that happening here at Rangers.
Even loosing Arfield, Jack, Kamara, Aribo, Lundstrum, Kent, Bassey, Goldson, Barasic, Balogun to name a few. Yes these guys were getting on and a few made us a good amount of income but too many went on the cheap or for free at the wrong times. Very poor management at the top. I think this American backing will also come good with time along with our current manager given the correct resources but we need a major clear out.
I'd be taking a punt on the following:
Martin Boyle (Last 6 months of contract) proven goal scorer, a lot to play for given the World Cup coming up. £500k offer.
Cammy Devlin (Last 6 months of contract) solid, tenacious and doesn't back out of anything. £500k offer along with sending Lyall Cameron for 6 month loan for some game time and experience. No option to buy.
Send back Djiga and Aarons.
Fernandes, Sterling, Meghoma, Tav, Soutter, Cornelius and Nsiala with another RB and LB brought in.
Sell on Diomande, Danilo, Gassama, Antman, Chermiti. Rothwell, Matondo, Dowell and Cifuentes.
Bring in another CM, RM and LM along with Raskin, Barron, Aasgaard, Rice, Bajrami, Curtis and Cortes.
Try and secure Moore for another season long loan (out of our price range to buy).
We desperately need 2 strikers with a proven track record. Any thoughts on anyone?
The above is my personal opinion and everyone is entitled to their own.
WATP ??.

@foolmonty. Meghoma should be the cover for new starting LB signed on permanent basis. Aarons should be cover too would rather play Sterling there.
Do agree that we could use another striker if we can get rid of 1 and another center midfielder who can make a difference would be good as current midfield is non existent, Diomande needs to go asap and would take anything north of 10mil for Raskin.

Not worried about right back slot, bring in a decent centre back and Dujon becomes first choice there. Don't agree about Gassama being better on the right I thought he played really well on the left before being switched over and then played well there also.
I do agree about Danilo, I know he's had bad injuries but he's never looked like the real deal as a striker, Miovski apart from one game had been dreadful too and it says a lot that Chermiti is now looking like the best of the three.
Get rid of all three or any combinations of the three if anybody wants them.
