We're obviously coming to yet again, a very important transfer window for us. A question to my fellow posters on here, would you want/do you think current hearts centre half loanee stuart findlay would be a good signing for us and do we think there's a good chance we'd be interested in signing him permanently ?We do need some signings that are tried and tested and can play in our scottish league ?.

Why don't you find someone to compare him too like you did Rothwell and Callum McGregor because that one worked out so well for you.

Ger88 just because your balls are hairy doesn't mean you can't give an opinion on whether you think a player will be good or not.
He's having a good season as are most of the hearts squad but I think any hearts player in January would be unrealistic.

I think he would be a good signing for us but I just can't see it happening. Hearts have him until the end of the season.

Findlay has had a good season but has a horrific injury record. He's not worth the risk in my opinion.

Hearts aren't selling any of their stars this window. Maybe on a precontract but reckon we could be bringing in better.

so was Findlay good enough for us last season when he played for a Kilmarnock defence who lost 30 goals in 12 games he played at CB (out for rest of season with ankle injury) and the 6 they lost in relegation games after split, including a 3-0 loss vs relegated St Johnstone. or do we just look to sign every player who shows any form during a season?
we do it with players and with managers; anyone remember the clamour for Jimmy Thelin at start of last season?
so no for me as I want to see a period of form before I would decide as every player has a purple patch at some point in their career when all the stars align.

Rohl is a good coach and he will know the type of profile he needs for a centre half.
Nothing against Stuart Finlay who looks big and physical but would he be comfortable playing out from the back on both sides, is he good on the ball, is he quick?
If there is someone in the SPL that has all those attributes and standing out then I'm sure we would be looking at him.
Not sure there is though.

as were you Rosevale. also add in that they would be left with 2 or at most 3 defending for us rather than the bank of 5 and 4 (9 in total) they normally have at their current teams.
