I'm very happy that Danny Rohl is our manager but do you think if Gerrard had been told that in about a months time KT and PS would be out the door he would've taken the job?

I genuinely don't think SG was up for the challenge, trying to overhaul Celtic again with a smaller budget.
He did amazingly to achieve it once before, I don't think he fancied trying to do it again.

My star, I didn't say small, I said smaller.
And we are currently behind them in just about every position atm. Fact is they are quite poor atm but we are way worse.
How many players would you like to keep for next season? 1, 2 maybe 3? It's truly awful what has been allowed to happen to the club in recent years.
And I think anyone looking at the squad can see it's a long process to fix things and most likely is going to take a couple of seasons and don't think SG fancied that.

zikos we spent more than them this summer gross so our budget was higher really. they may have more cash in bank but they need to want to spend it. they did however have a core of players from previous seasons so are just adding to positions they feel they need to refresh, whilst normally having a player there already who is first team ready.
how many do we have or have we had like that recently.
I do agree re Gerrard not wanting the challenge and if that is the case we are well shot. just think as always someone painting the story to suit their own agenda as well.

I still believe Gerrard would've been THE correct appointment.
I believe we bear hearts at weekend with Gerrard.
However I'm more than happy with Rohl.

Celtic have a strong core of Internationals, so much so that the fringe players are also internationals. And signings they make are generally topping up what they already have.
Going into the next window they probably need a Striker and a RW. That's it, with a much bigger budget than us.
What do we need? Practically an entire team.
Let this sink in - we only have Fernandes and Nsiala as defenders for next season! Htf was that allowed to happen?
So as well as needing probably 6 defenders! We also need a 6, an 8 a 10, a LW, two RW and a striker. That's 13 players and not counting a GK if we're looking to replace Butland.
We are an absolute mess.
If we are being pragmatic, then we can probably hold off the 6 and the 8 for now but that's still 11!
Gerrard already overhauled the squad once, I don't think he fancied doing it again.

Way off the mark with what lol. You said Gerrard had a bigger budget first time round. Explain it. We spent a fortune in the summer. Gerrard might have spent more on the 3 and a bit years he was here but you can't compare three and a half years money spent with one window. Honestly no idea what I mean by I'm way off.

zikos I am a little more positive about this. the players were bought and displayed talent at previous clubs. they were bought to play a style by Martin which was rubbish and to be developed to make us money. we now need to buy those experienced players to help them develop now and grow and those players will allow Rohl to play a style which suits everyone.
I think the LCB and the DCM are the two important positions for us with a RW to give us balance potentially.
others I know won't agree but we either give them time this season or just get rid of them (how? ) and start all over again. 12 points behind we have nothing to lose so who knows but start building now for next season with what we have plus some choice additions.

It's more likely thst Gerrard is touting himself for a EPL job and keeping himself relevant, interviewing for the Rangers job then the interview with Ally. I'll always be grateful for the few years he was here as it was good times overall but its in the past, not sure he's ever coming back.

Got nothing to do with Thelwell and I wish people would stop thinking that, if it was the case he wouldn't of interviewed at all cause he was asked in the summer too plus we wanted Rohl first in the summer but Wednesday wanted too much compensation if reports were correct.
He only wants a perfect job that has no risk to him and in football now there's only a 5% chance of that or more money. He's trying to keep himself relevant with interviews to get a job in England cause no one seems interested in him and I wonder why that is? maybe because Emery has pretty much the same team flying. Give Rohl credit, he took the job when it wasn't perfect, when he was 3rd choice and domestically except against Hearts and manager bounce Celtic has got results with a poor squad.
