Is the league over or not that is the question?

Celtic will drop points yes.

Hearts will drop points yes.

Can this Rangers squad go on and a run and drop a lot less points than either I very much doubt it but you never know what a new coach can do but I just can't see it myself.

I don't think winning the league is out of the question however I think the barrier now will be more the time it takes to get the players reconditioned to play a more aggressive fast flowing style of football. These things take time especially with the volume of games we have to play.

It shouldn't be mate but it is, I believe currently we'd be hard pushed to make 3rd place. Again, that shouldn't be the case but that's the reality. I actually think the yanks will view this as success.

Unfortunately Storm, we will continue to drop points ✌️.

I honestly don't think it's over, we were in a similar position when Clement arrived, he had us top for a while and we really should have won the league that year.

A new manager can have a massive galvanising effect on the squad, I think come end of year we will be there or thereabouts.

Hoping for the best Storm. If he can turn it around quickly and put the pressure on Celtic, you just never know. Not discounting Hearts but past experience tells us that they will not be able to sustain their momentum. Still all to play for imo.

Storm, based on what we've seen so far this season, I'd say the league is gone. However, I think most folk thought when Clement took over from Beale that the league was gone and not only did we claw the points back, we should have won the league but we threw it away. A different scenario this time around and a different number of points behind, but the precedent is there that when the new head coach comes in, if he can put a run of wins together, then you never know. It's an odd season and I think Celtic will continue to drop points as they are a poor team compared to recent years.

I don't think Hearts will collapse like Aberdeen last season, but they will drop points. They are playing with a lot of confidence at the moment and also getting a bit of luck. A couple of defeats and that can all easily change. 30 league games to go. I would guess we realistically need to win 25-26 of them to be in with a chance. I live in hope, but a big improvement by the players and new head coach will be required to stand any chance.

Not with this squad of players
If we finish 3rd after buying all these players it would be a financial disaster.

Posted earlier, we have 5 wins to make up on Hearts.
3 wins to make up on Celtic.
And match their tally at the other times.
No matter the manager, have we faith in the current squad to go on a title winning run?
Or that Hearts won't keep on winning?
Or that Celtic don't get their act together.
Never say never though, Storm.

If anyone on here thinks we can still win the league, they are as delusional as RM.

We might struggle to get 2nd.

I agree with you. Other than the obvious managerial mess, I feel our strike force is significantly weaker than last year. Not just our main striker but our reserve one as well.

Our midfield is essentially the same although younger/ less experienced on the wings. Our defence is also younger/ weaker. We have interesting players in Gassama Asgard Moore and I would even include Raskin in this group, they are talented but I think they try to do too much themselves, their team chemistry is low. That is in part because of the manager but also because they don't trust eachother. Some on here have pointed out that this is probably due to a lack of leadership on the field.

Regardless, too many question marks to fix in one season. Although I will continue to watch, hoping for the miracle.

Got agree with your post and thoughts Strom.
Hope we are both wrong though mate.

To weak willed to mount serious challenge, still got core of players who have failed in past.
Butland
Tav
Soutar
Raskin
Diomande
Dowel
Darron
Dinilo
Plus loan players/ signings who can't get a game in front of these.

We have to be positive here. Rohl excelled at Sheffield Wednesday under very trying circumstances. I have friends from my Sheffield days and none think he was poor.
Understandable this is a totally different gig and the expectations and pressures are more extreme, but for me this is a good time to take on the team. 1st 45min on sat gives an indication of what can be done (now have to get to 90min and then regularly).

The league is not chock full of quality and for me everyone will drop points.
Swagger (like Hearts have just now) comes from repeatedly winning, especially when doing so ugly. Rohl has the tools he has, so we'll see his man management skills. Then the next window will be key…
Onwards and upwards.

A tall ask strom, but not impossible, if we can get close by january and strengthen defence then who knows.

20 Oct 2025 15:50:56
Yately, Hopefully not as many as Celtic because they're struggling too score.

20 Oct 2025 15:57:45
Think we will drop many more points than Celtic and hearts think we will finish 3rd.
