Chris Jack reporting Danny Rohl close to finalising a deal to become the new head coach.
When his name was first announced, did his name fill me with optimism, no it didn't, and I had a fear he would be a rinse and repeat of Martin.
However, when I've looked a bit closely at him, he's different to Martin. He doesn't get to be assistant at Bayern, Leipzig and the German national team if he doesn't have something about him.

He's actually a very good manager so many people have spoke highly off him unlike Martin. Could be a very top manager in years to come and I like the fact he's desperate to manage us.

I've fancied Rohl since he was linked back in the summer. As you say, he's had some big jobs before Sheffield Wednesday — if it is him and not just the media clutching at another straw! Part of me would still love it to be someone nobody's mentioned yet, just to scunner them all.
I think the board's taken their time with this appointment, but some of the criticism thrown their way has been a bit harsh. I'm just looking forward to it being done so we can get back to talking about what's happening on the park. We saw a glimpse on Saturday of what some of the new signings can do — hopefully once the right coach is in place, we'll really see them kick on!

If this is case then we need get behind him but i do feel he is on a hiding to nothing as fans will not give him the time he needs unless he starts winning from day 1.
As for the board if they get this wrong then they better start packing there bags
Recruitment been shocking we didn't want a manager we wanted head coach what a mess.

I think many are missing the point here. Doesn't matter if it's Rohl, Gerrard, Muscat or Pep. We are not going to improve while Thelwell is directing things.

We've messed about so much over the last two weeks I just want somebody in the job so that we can start the recovery process. It may not be perfect and I still have doubts about a number of the players but there is no way that squad should be sitting 6th and drawing the games they have in this league.
We may not catch Hearts now or even the other mob but we should be picking up far more wins than we have up to now.

Done very well at Sheffield Wednesday SirStruth, only 36 year old, achieved a lot for being that age, Bannan said he's the best manager he's worked with others the same, think he could be a good appointment.

He or whoever is next will need to a top coach if he is to work with any players the Thelwell and Sons conveyer belt will continue bring in??this is the real area for Urgent Attention IMHO.

We all need to get behind the new Head Coach.
If things continue to go wrong we know that target for the fans needs to be KT and PS not the Head Coach. My main worry isn't who they bring in now but the Jan transfer window - these will be KT and son signings. enough said!

An assistant is nothing like the pressure he will be under at ibrox, the clowns above him and a joke of a manager before means he has to hit the ground running with wins in league and semi against Celtic which would help him big time, I don't believe he has the experience to manage this club at this time but hoping am wrong.

How many chances does chris Jack want at getting this right, there is no leaks from Rangers so everyone is still guessing. through enough preferred candidate names out there and eventually they will get it right. no excitement or concerns from me until Rangers website shows him holding the scarf above his head.

Cooper, one of Bayern's nicknames was "FC Hollywood" because there was always so much drama surrounding the club! They've been one of the biggest teams in the world for decades. There's been a bit of a slip in the Champions League lately, but domestically they're still a giant. I'm sure Rohl will cope just fine with Scotland!

Apologies Bear1986, previous comment last night re Rohl not aimed at you personally. More aimed at my disbelief the club would demean themselves by going back for him when he had already stepped away. But their incompetence is a thread that runs through everything at the moment.
I hope he has insisted on having final say on transfers, I would ask for that if it was my reputation and job on the line, why tie the managers arms behind his back. Not saying Rohl won't be any good, he may turn out to be but as things stand he won't get much help from higher up.

Why are these two con artists still employed? just don't understand the new board is not exactly inspiring confidence, I thought these Americans where meant to be ruthless in business yet these two are still here.
Will get behind Röhl if he is appointment but would not say he is my first or even second choice. But will give the man every chance to prove himself and hope he does well.

We can all throw as much support at Rohl (if its him because god knows this circus merry-go-round has spun for weeks), but even with all the support in the world behind him as long as Thelwell and Stewart are in charge and pulling all the strings anybody coming in is likely to get dragged down with them.

Not comparing us to Bayern Drew, big difference between an assistant and the big boys chair especially with fans baying for blood and press wanting you to fail, gets more credit from me for his Wednesday stint than the rest put together, done enough digging to see he can change to suit which is a plus, his interviews give me a bit of the fear so hopefully he gets a couple of Rangers men in with him to tell him don't hide behind XGs etc as the fans can see what's in front of them.
