Typical, create a post and an update already in!
Seems a further week delay for Bordeaux, so assume a waiting game for Maja, if we still want him.

Hopefully it’s all agreed and there’s a gentleman’s agreement in place and signing can happen as soon as it’s done. There’s no way this match gets replayed now all the players will be on holiday. It’s Bordeaux fans own stupid fault.

2.) 12 Jun 2023 13:54:23
Hope we still in for him and gets sorted out soon.

3.) 12 Jun 2023 15:18:44
Kaisers. Beale wants maja.

4.) 12 Jun 2023 16:16:46
Saw montpellier also being linked with him. Can't see anything on the rematch decision tho.

5.) 12 Jun 2023 19:12:45
Home defeat kaiser.

Today sounds like D Day in France regarding Bordeaux and more importantly Josh Maja.
I saw in France belief is that Bordeaux will lose their appeal for a re-match, meaning Maja will become a free agent. Then I'm sure we'll see if our interest is truly concrete!
Would like to think so as this May free up a little more money to pursue other targets.

It was a sad display and worse I don’t think unexpected. Having said that the midfield looked leggy and from 1 player disinterested and the defense made me rubbish my eyes whenever it was attacked. No substitute for pace of play and we are looking more pedestrian as the weeks go by.
Much as it pains to say our squad doesn’t have the required depth of player required to compete yet and the spectre of FFP leads me to think we chose the path of re-signing, bolstered by free transfers and young ‘potential’ laden players. (However I think most can be good players. We just need them on the park) . Not a Gio issue as the club simply has to balance the books, but tactics and fight should be a given. Some of the errors today we’re very avoidable but the players looked simply terrified of their pace.
Let’s hope we can get some of our absentees back quickly….

We move on boys…. Nothing else for it ??✌️.

2.) 03 Sep 2022 18:35:25
When the captain and vice captain are too busy pointing fingers at each other and let celtic score instead of concentrating we are in dire straits.

3.) 03 Sep 2022 18:39:48
Yately0001, yes we move on, but as already stated, this was not unexpected. Those of us who have had concerns, especially about playing 3 defensive minds, saw every concern played out today.
Cant single out anyone for praise, it was again, expected.

4.) 03 Sep 2022 18:44:33
Move on to ware itl be the same boring as f#ck passing back for the nxt spl game so move on naw a don't think so were no in decline we've declined awready am afraid.

5.) 03 sep 2022 18:58:28
it was time to replace goldson morellos kent and the older guys

we instead offered new contracts, we had already gotten all they could give, waiting for a good kent game is like a child waiting from one xmas to another, an eternity.

6.) 03 Sep 2022 19:26:26
Kent is brutal one good game in 10 if yer lucky the problem with us is our wingers don’t/ can’t score goals and theirs scores for fun.

7.) 03 Sep 2022 20:09:58
Awful performance today, an embarrassment but not the least bit surprised, the psv away win papered over huge early season cracks, the football so far has been dross, too slow and lacking any imagination or creativity, let's start with the board, they have steadied the ship and done lots of good but they've been found wanting here, charging huge ticket prices for a competition you don't prepare us for, anyone with half a brain knows the squad is short of 2 or 3 class players, I said here the other day 12 months ago our team would have mcgregor, bassey, Jack, aribo and morelos, now we have mclaughlin, Sands, tillman, Lawrence and colak, a downgrade in every way, the manager who most on here worship, whilst slagging the guy who won us a league and stopped the ten has now been hammered twice in 3 visits to parkhead, under Gerrard we would never and didn't ever get a doing, we at least competed, postecoglou has that lot playing quick, attacking football, everything gio doesn't do for us

Mclaughlin will never be a rangers number 1 goalie, hopefully today puts that to bed for the lunatics who claim he is, he was poor at the first 2 goals today and horrendous at the 4th

We have centre halves who are slow and cannot defend a cross ball, not just today but every week

Barisic got and continues to get dogs abuse for the parkhead loss in February, completely unfair, he wasn't brilliant today but competed and threw 4 perfect crosses in during that first half that were begging to be attacked, I wonder if others will get the abuse after today

Midfield is slow, predictable and doesn't score goals or offer a goal threat

Tillman has potential but game far too quick for him

Colak has scored goals but not in morelos' class

Our 2 right wingers Wright and matondo, couldn't make a player out of the 2 of them, on the other wing Kent tries hard but is a shadow of the player he was

Problems all over the shop and a long season awaits.

8.) 03 Sep 2022 20:10:53
Storm, they have players with pace, who are prepared to shoot on sight, we have no pace, and how often do you see us shoot on sight? very rarely, rather pass it out to the wings to pass it backwards again, it's getting very tedious now watching this. He has to change things quickly or its a very long season in my opinion.

I believe we have tried a number of targets (that the manager wanted) . Didn’t happen so need to move on. Insurance of an extra forward would be good, but if one hasn’t arrived I believe it is because the PC didn’t get his man or didn’t fancy what was on offer.
Disappointing to think people here think PC either doesn’t understand what is at stake in 2nd half of season or does not have a plan. Other than one poor result, PC has turned the season around and given real cause for optimism (on all fronts), and I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt in knowing what it takes to win with what he has.

At the end of the day looks like we beat out Bundesliga sides, and he is Euro eligible. The fee is what it is, and I am Sure PC is fully aware of the dent it makes in his budget. For me this player looks like he can raise the quality which is paramount to both help win the league and compete at a European level. Added to Silva looks like 2 genuinely good players so far. I know we are all desperate for a striker and possibly LB, but what I like is that if a player doesn’t appear to hit the PC standard we don’t go for him. We will try and miss with some targets but overall I am more than comfortable with the direction we are headed.

I suspect we are looking at a ‘loan’ option for striker for a few reasons. Firstly we have expensive players on our books (Roofe, Dessers and Danilo) already. Secondly as has been pointed out we have limited numbers of players who can be added to our ‘euro’ roster for the current campaign. Finally, reality is we have a number of needs imo (CB, LB, RW, CF) and if we are to ‘improve’ and ultimately win the Premiership this year, with all the riches that entails then I expect the manager to be circumspect in lashing out millions in January.
In striker terms I think Shankland would do very well domestically, Michy could do Domestic and Euro (if he has the appetite) . I see the logic in pursuing michy as I think Fener’ will not be too tough to deal with as they seem keen to get him off the books, and a loan would allow us to gain a premium striker (if we can compromise on salary) . Then if successful and we win the league I think there will be more money in summer if the likes of Shankland (or even Che Adams who I have championed before) would come more into play.

Hi All, Happy New Year.
I suspect Barton is actually Barron (pesky predictive text) .

Maybe I am being naive but I don’t think that the last Celtic result is a killer;
If we can win our 2 in hand, find our own killer touch (I believe we simply need a finisher rather than a forward who can play all positions. I won’t repeat the maroon clad player but if not him then someone of that ilk) . We have holes IMO at left back, CH and a true down the line winger, but don’t think we are that far adrift. Those in green were overall better but as we have seen this season both the big 2 look vulnerable if the other SPFL sides can be brave enough…Points will be dropped. So win out games and we will win the league. Not easy granted but got to be optimistic for 2024 :)

If reports from Belgium are to be believed, Clement has met with Rangers. Again from Belgium says he Dows not want to move to Saudi and would prefer Europe.
So question is, even if we sign him or another manager, there is still no sign or news of a DOF, assuming that route is not being ignored by board this time around.

Last night for me summed up our Jekyll and Hyde season.
Slow, disjointed in attack and terrible out of possession 1st half. Drive, energy, purpose and goals 2nd half.

Disappointing to hear PC had to in his words ‘get angry’ for a half time reaction, but good that it had an effect. Thought the young left back Fraser was the pick of the bunch and along with Yilmaz gives me heart at LB. Still feel we need a DM who can protect at the back (particularly when we go hung ho and lose the ball high up), and I feel a real physical presence at the back will bring stability.

Also think PC commenting ‘youth making millions’ is an indicator of how we need to make money, our current financial plight and coupled with not letting senior players walk for free is clearly the way forward. Overall job done, just not in the manner I would like to see weekly.

Astonishing those beginning to turn on the manager.
He had very limited options today at the back, wing and up front. Sterling is so good at filling multi roles, which unfortunately means he ends up covering where we are short. IMO macausland is a good young player but appears to lack the physical edge of a sterling or Sima which is why I don’t think he started. Davies is in because of a lack of players. The only questionable choice for me ‘on form’ is Barisic over Yilmaz (but again if the manager doesn’t feel he’s 100% am sure he expects a seasoned international to be good enough to cover) . Lawrence over cantwell (read into that what you will), as he never got off the bench at any point and that looks like a relationship on the out. Plus you cannot legislate for the hot headed play of Lundstram. He effectively ended any chance of a comeback

I agree we need to give a run to those younger players (who are fit) as well as the likes of raskin, but the bottom line is we cannot go hung ho in summer and will need to try and move out those unwanted (if we can find homes for them), and hunt for bargains. Sad to say but financially at this time we cannot compete with the green half and unless we get to CL we could well lose the likes of Butland.

Admittedly we were short today. however than Yilmaz who I think should have started over Barisic, there was little more the manager had at his disposal. The manager did make changes, tried with what he had, but disappointed to hear the slagging he is now getting. WHO could have won that today for us with our current squad available. Sad truth is we are still a yard behind
The squad is paper thin and the injuries to Sima, Matondo and Cortes has been too much to cover.
The only sin I see in Sterling is that he is so versatile he is playing all over, rather than at DM where I feel he’s shone this year.
Once we went to 10 men it was clear we’d need to take chances and hit on the break. Leaving us exposed and why I feel sterling dropped back.
No one wants to see our players out of position but unless others step up what can he do.
Lundstram thanks for the memories and I would happily see raskin see out the season as he at least looked like a player there.
Trouble is we cannot spend our way out of this squad malaise (even if we have funds), and PC will need to be very clever.

I think the key to Balogun (and a serious criteria for our next CB), is his pace. He made errors, as does Goldson and Souttar. However his turn of pace has meant he often got back on Sunday and was able to recover both his position and more often than not the ball.
Souttar still wants to play like Beckenbauer and Goldson has simply lost a step, whilst I think Balogun knows his limitations and plays to them.

I think yesterday highlighted a few things most are aware of (or becoming so quickly) .
1. We are light in regards certain positions. As clearly Sterling’s best position is not LB and clearly we did not like the alternative. Others (midfielders) looked tired and we need an ability to rotate. That players like Raskin appear to have disappeared is a worry.
2. Whilst I think the balance was wrong in 1st half, I am impressed that PC has the tactical nous not only to make the right adjustments, but clearly has developed respect from his players and his half time messages got across.
3. We ARE overly nervous in this fixture and constantly seem to be playing catch up. That is an area again I’m sure PC will work on for Parkhead.

Overall we got out of jail, can get back to the summit this week, then it’s foots to the pedal for the rest of the games, and hopefully by next Old Firm we’ll have a few more back and closer to 100%.
