Ehl, a would like your opinion on this please . A have noticed we start slow in every game so a purposely went up early to the genk game to watch both teams warm up . A have to say a thought there warm up was far more intense and better organised everything they did was within a pre set area then they did a wee fast feet exercise down by there own fan just to get fans going and then heading down the tunnel. We started at one side of the copland for the first phase and then wondered over to the other side for the final we bit of the warm up it look so amateurish with zero intensity with a fair bit of down time in between. A just wondered has anyone raised the slow start issue.

Martin puts a lot of emphasis on control and purposely sets a low intensity throughout a lot of training sessions and in the warm ups.
Apparently when the intensity is high, passion and emotion leads to lose of shape and poor decision making.
It's something a lot of players have struggled with - i. e. the concept of changing tempo so frequently during games.

Thank ehl a appreciate the reply, a can actually understand that concept when your the smaller/ weaker side and are up against stronger opposition the only that's strange is trying to implement it when your the stronger dominant team. train and play with a really high intensity you'll blow most teams away because you should already have the better technical players . You also can change half your team in any game so a high intensity game should be even easier to implement when your the bigger club because your depth of player will always be superior to everyone else. It will also take so much away from the players that like to play on emotion and usually there the more influential players in your squad especially within a club like ours where they can feed off the fans.

I might be a bit naive here but surely the intensity of training and a warm up has more to do with fitness and less to do with emotion.
Also this club is all about passion its a privilege to play with that badge on your chest and the players should be showing that (and indeed did show that for 20 mins in the first half yesterday)

Think that is a huge problem EHL, a slow start is just helping teams get at us, took us 25 mins to look like a team yesterday and we could of put game out of sight up till half time, then a slow start to the second half just gave Livi confidence to go at us, instead of being few goals in front and cruising it was panic stations and relying on players playing off the cuff to get a result, we got lucky in the end and everyone can see the next disaster coming.
