Van bronckhorst rules himself out on sky news, we are in a mess and big eck is a step backwards.

20 Nov 2017 19:17:02
Patrick Vieria new manager?

20 Nov 2017 19:27:34
Where did that come from?
Never saw his name anywhere

20 Nov 2017 19:32:20
Where'd that come from? Or is it just who you'd like to see in the job? Imo we could do a lot worse.

20 Nov 2017 21:52:44
Think Nigel Pearson would be a good shout for boss did the ground work at Leicester has bags of managerial experience doesn't suffer fools gladly and would not cost much in compo for 2nd div Belgium club

21 Nov 2017 14:44:14
time to hit the manager search on the head bring in big eck and wee barry, ano a lot of fans are against bringing in eck but 7 trophies won the last time, it makes sense will not cost the earth could weed out the dross and use the revenue in Jan. to bring in a right back move Tav forward as he is the only one capable of beating a man get moult, mclean&walker. win win.

20 Nov 2017 18:57:07
Won't be at all surprised if MA sells Newcastle United now that a formal offer has apparently been tabled and attempts to invest in us again.

Not saying it's what I want but I can see it coming.

20 Nov 2017 19:22:33
Tbf it it was the right deal financially would make us secure and i guess he would want champions league for the coverage for him, guys a plank but very buisness orientated i would definately consider it

20 Nov 2017 19:45:21
You would consider it, I’ll let Mike know immediately it’s what he’s been waiting on.

20 Nov 2017 19:58:41
Hahaha 😂😂😂

20 Nov 2017 21:06:42
Hell yeah let's be honest though us bears say we've got 200 mil in the bank and businesses worth fortunes i would expect to at least pump in 50 mil overall and never see it back, would you do it, we need champions league back to see any kind of return and aye fat mike if your looking we would consider it on condition s 😂😂

21 Nov 2017 10:34:23
If Ashley was wanting to invest in Rangers why would he have sold his shares?

20 Nov 2017 18:16:56
go for tony pulis

20 Nov 2017 19:38:29
Absolutely, Naw!

20 Nov 2017 18:06:05
I think people are forgetting that even those at the bottom of the PL would thrash all in SPL. yes even the filthy souls. He has been a constant over achiever in the league place wise and his knowledge of the business, transfer acumen and defensive tactics would stop results like the weekend and turn us into contenders. Don't think the pl and ever championship in england are anywhere near our level because you must be on the buckfast too much or highly delusional. or stuck in the the late 80s early to mid ninties things have changed and we need to too and soon.

20 Nov 2017 20:10:37
problem is any manager who wants to out hus style on anything will because muntiny in the dressing room and us bonkers fans will support the players who don't like change and another manager will go. we need to offload the duds before we mive forward and how can that ever happen when we turn on the manager rather than the players who aren't performing.

20 Nov 2017 20:21:28
Morden day football manger needs to be not just be a coach but someone who can man manger players and get the best out of them something we have not really had May the real last person was Walter smith who do I want I don't care just get the right person in and try and move forward

20 Nov 2017 17:58:23
Pulis for gers manager. would be a great manager to sign if we are bold enough and also if there are any pennies in the coffer.

20 Nov 2017 17:45:28
Can’t belive some fans on here are wanting tony pulis. have u seen his brand of football.

He will take us back 20 years sorry lads but it reeks of desperation because the board are taking their time

20 Nov 2017 18:08:53
I would love to be 20 years back. Or do you not remember how good we were then.

20 Nov 2017 18:30:25
Yeah I do remember we played good football something TP teams don’t do, Now or even in the next 20 years he’s a a one trick pony that’s why he’s just been sacked because he has no plan B never had it at stoke or West Brom

As I said earlier some fans on here are just desperate for an appointment but TP would be a mistake I’m pretty sure he’s not on the short list n thank god

20 Nov 2017 22:38:18
Jcgers the football can’t be any worse than what we’re watching he now. Who do you suggest since your so against Tony Pulis

20 Nov 2017 23:44:46
Pulis brand of football can't be any worse than what i watched on sat

20 Nov 2017 17:45:10
With everyone from fans to the media talking about who they think is good and who they thing will be the new manager. I’ve got a feeling the new manager will be someone who hasn’t even been mentioned yet. hopefully the board has learned by their mistakes and don’t hit us with another Pedro or Warburton. just an after thought but Stuart mccall might be worth a shout. or not lol

20 Nov 2017 15:16:17
I have nothing against TP. For the people already saying he would be great for us, please explain what makes him a stand out candidate. A quick snapshot on his 25 year career below.

Played 1,047,
Won 374
Drawn 312
Lost 361
Win Ratio 35.72%

Teams managed
Bournemouth
Gillingham
Bristol City
Portsmouth
Stoke City
Plymouth Argyle
Stoke City
Crystal Palace
West Bromwich Albion

Football League Third Division runner-up: 1995-96
Football League Second Division play-off final runner-up: 1999
Championship runner-up: 2007-08
FA Cup runner-up: 2010-11.

20 Nov 2017 15:41:08
Aye it is pretty grim viewing.

There's a difference between keeping Stoke from being relegated by battling out for draws against better teams and actually trying to catch Celtic and win trophies.

Hate to say it but the longer this goes on the more I just want somebody like McLeish in. The candidates are pretty honkin let's not beat around the bush.

20 Nov 2017 16:50:58
If a team in the PL was looking out for a new manager, every one of them would take Tony Pulis over Big Eck.

Hate to say it as I like the guy but appointing Alec would not cause Rodgers a moment's worry. Pulis just might.

20 Nov 2017 17:22:22
The only teams in the English premier league that would consider TP are teams down the bottom end of the league. He also gets his teams playing awful style of football.

20 Nov 2017 20:13:50
we don't know the candidates unless i missed a press release. these r names manufactured by media, fans and bookies

20 Nov 2017 23:45:54
Pulis might have got us a point against hamilton on sat

20 Nov 2017 13:18:01
Would love us to get tony pulis, but can't see it happening.

20 Nov 2017 14:20:20
id definitely take pulis. had a rough season this year but consistently punches above his weight in epl. may not be the most excoting brand of football but exactly what we need in terms of first and foremost being organised, tough to beat etc

20 Nov 2017 15:12:49
Yous really can’t Grasp it can you! Pulis de Boer Big Sam! YOU can't AFFORD THEM! And why would any of them come to play, well I was going to say 2nd fiddle but u can’t even manage that! A massive dose of reality is needed on here honestly! It’s actually scary the delusion!

20 Nov 2017 15:37:40
People have mentioned his style of football.

What difference does the style of football being played on the park make when you can even string 3 wins together.

Walter Smith didn't play attractive football, but he came away with the win more often than not. I actually believe that's exactly what it would take to stop this Celtic team, obviously quality but more importantly a manager that will just stop them playing.

Anyways, Pulis has been sacked hours ago and the papers have already started, saying he's a contender. Probs end up being McLeish.

20 Nov 2017 16:27:59
A Celtic fan calling anybody delusional is absolute class. Some bunch you lot.

Just remember you are the paranoid/ delusional fans in Scotland, the tinfoil hats will be back out in force as soon as your unbeaten run comes to an end.

20 Nov 2017 17:12:32
Aye Bearmode u keep telling urself that, that will make it all seem better! 😂😂😂😂😂 Pulis de Boer Big Sam who commands about 80 grand a week! U can’t even afford to go and pay Aberdeen the money for Mcinnes for gods sake! Come down off whatever planet your living on and get back in the real world! The world of McLeish Davies Tommy Wright that’s more your level! Like I said utterly deluded! Let’s spend some more money we don’t have and see what happens! You really don’t learn do yous!

20 Nov 2017 17:21:32
Obsessed much lol

20 Nov 2017 18:24:24
# Obsessed with laughter.

20 Nov 2017 19:24:45
Seriously pish patter from the celt boys on this thread.

20 Nov 2017 21:15:06
Obsessed wae winning 😜😜😜

20 Nov 2017 21:28:39
Lh86, I actually agree with this guy in a way. We are not going to get a manager of brendan rodgers calibre, it's just not happening. We need a Derek Mcinnes / Tommy Wright to make us best of the rest, and then, only then can we think about catching, stopping, ovetaking the manky mob.

20 Nov 2017 22:30:49
Lum in my original post I’m being deadly serious. these names are pure fantasy! These guys aren’t coming up here unless you pay them the going rate, which cannot afford! A steady hand is what u need like u said and go from there! The rest is just a pipe dream!

20 Nov 2017 13:11:07
The papers and bookmakers are just second guessing who our next coach will be. I don't think anyone has even been spotted having an interview, contact with any of our hierarchy and I hope it stays that way and we do our business discretely. I'm still concerned we've no cash for investment in playing squad to get quality anyway.

20 Nov 2017 12:34:49
Does anyone else watch Lee Hodson play and find themselfes longing for the glory days of Olivier Bernard, Jerome Bonnissel and Gregory Vignal?

20 Nov 2017 13:54:09
Hahaha. watching him has me longing for Gary Bollan

20 Nov 2017 13:54:11
I think Hodson is dependable enough at RB when we are struggling and maybe having to defend deeper etc
However, we were so weak down that side of the park because we didn't have Wallace/ John overlapping Windass (who I thought had a decent game for once! )
We had no width on that side at all.

I don't think the failure of the task can be laid at McCrorie or Hodson's doors though - for me it is Morelos who needs a spell picking up splinters on the bench, his poor finishing cost us majorly. If he were Waghorn he would get dogs abuse.

20 Nov 2017 14:44:20
I feel sorry for Morelos, the guy is still young and looks short of confidence. He showed at the start what he can do. I agree he needs a stint on the bench but the options to replace him are Miller, Herrera and Hardie. That is the extent of our forwards right now. Hopefully the new manager can give him the boost he needs as there isn’t any cover for him at all.

20 Nov 2017 18:24:47
Was not long ago people were saying to play him every week over tav lol then again some people were saying play dodoo 😂😂

20 Nov 2017 11:19:04
Surely now after 4 weeks we should have our new manger in place now to put his own stamp on things and assess who stays and who must go. there is a great deal of luck gona be involved to be able to sell 2 or 3 of the players we have. if McLeish is now favourite for the job does that mean the board don’t actually know who they want for the job after almost a month. c'mon ti and get it sorted. we are rangers, we are the people and deserve better

20 Nov 2017 11:52:03
If it's true the board tried to get Coleman from Wales I'm so glad we never got him. we are crying out for somebody who knows the club inside out. someone who knows what type of player is needed to be a rangers player. even right good players fail at ibrox. some just can't play under those circumstances. I'm really hoping the board don't go and get another warbs or a Pedro. please get somebody who knows our club. every manager is a gamble but some are less of a gamble than others. let's hope the board go and get somebody this week

20 Nov 2017 13:50:28
You nailed it mate, just keep saying "we are the people" and everything will be rosy in the garden lol.

20 Nov 2017 14:05:51
You read what your defender has been saying today Rayman?

"Rangers being back is good for us. When they left, we did not spend a lot of money on players.

We knew we did not have to invest a great deal of money because we would win the league anyway.

But immediately, when they came up, we invested many millions on player purchases and appointed a class manager and bought good players.

We started paying better wages too to show that we would be number one. "

Just shows how much your lot missed us, whether the simple minority in your support agree or not.

20 Nov 2017 11:13:50
I would make sure Tony Pulis was not out of job for 2 long and get him in as rangers manager. I know this season has not been great but there is no denying he is a good manager.

20 Nov 2017 13:15:38
Agreed Benny - If anything, he knows how to win against better teams! And right now, that can't be a bad thing.
He isn't an awe inspiring name - but he maybe the correct one IMO.

20 Nov 2017 10:38:10
Tony Pulis sacked today. Would he be interested moving north. Always rated him. Surely still a big name in the game and no compensation. Any thoughts Bears?

20 Nov 2017 11:53:15
For me has to be de bour or pulis

Legends of Football Number 3: Pele

{Ed's Note - we have posted a new article entitled, Legends of Football Number 3: Pele

Pele

20 Nov 2017 10:06:25
{Ed's Note - we have posted a new player profile about, Pele

20 Nov 2017 08:59:01
Looks like McLeish is the favourite now guys, need someone who knows the club, then maybe get someone else for next season, Macinnes is linked with West Bromwich, when Pullis gets the heave-ho

20 Nov 2017 09:53:44
so they have tain a month to decide on alex mcleish the board really need get there act together and start pulling in the same direction

20 Nov 2017 11:41:28
Its taken almost a month to almost decide on mcleish going by the bookies. probably with murty as assistant with both to end of season You never go back. Very disappointing. The board continue to appear clueless since the pc appointment. Time for a new direction not back to mcleish.

20 Nov 2017 11:52:01
Shocking choice if true, we shouldn't be going back the way to past Managers. I for one will be seriously considering my renewal if he is in charge. Poor record since leaving Rangers in club management, and we played some of the worst football under him I have seen in 37 years, plus back then he had a bigger budget than we have now.

20 Nov 2017 12:19:41
detmcclane - we don't have a budget now!, that's why we can't tempt anyone worthwhile.
So old uncle Eck, is the cheap option, but AGAIN, a big risk!
