Guys wanted to start this new post for some realistic answers
Does anyone think GVB as it stands at this minute in time isn't getting backed by the board as well as Steven Gerrard did when he came in?
Secondly why have we lay so many main players contracts run so low is it they didn't want to sign new contracts that were possibly offered last season? Why wait until 12 months before current one runs out to offer new ones?
I reckon we need players in to add quality and depth to the squad if we want to get through the qualifiers that are coming up how bad and rubbish will it be if we don't make it to the champions league by dragging our heels over signings there must be players GVB wants in will the board back him and get them
Celtic are in the champions league proper now because of our tremendous results over the past few seasons for the ones who have been doing so well and not being there would be a shot in the foot
and then they get all the financial benefit of being there.
Players like mcgregor are not as quick as they once were still a good shot stopper but doesn't get down as quick as he once did
Unfortunately and it's just age nothing more he can't stop the ageing process
Davis great player but again age has caught up
If we want to be in champions league the players already at the club also need help with new faces to share the work load so to speak
if any of our current top players leave have got replacements ready to come in and cover the position?
we're operating on shaky ground at the minute
I feel
Anyone of the big players leave take Morelos what main striker do we have we can rely on for 40 -50 games minimum who can score goals?
We lose Aribo or Kent who takes there place that we can totally rely on to be fit and able to play
There's to many if and buts right now
So I urge the club to back GIo and get the players he must know he wants in the door sooner than later
If we don't and it all goes wrong. I won't be asking Gio to leave but asking th board why they haven't backed him the way they did gerrard
But then again I reckon Dave king had a lot to do with it

100% no and it's worrying given most of us expected a budget around 20m to be made available.

Thestigno1 i've said before and i'll say it again mate. It's my belief that if dave king had still been our chairman, steven gerrard would still be rangers manager ?.

Gerrard wanted out, epl and family. Nothing king could have done about it.

I agree, the board must back Gio. No more injury prone player's and past sell by date. No more bench sitters. No more loan signings only to develop for their home club, we should be trying to progress our own youngsters. I don't accept the he's too young nonsense, if your good enough then you're old enough. PELE was a WCup winner at 17, Gavi current Spain cap. Barcelona and ReaL Madrid both have players under20 regularly in 1st team. Rant over.

Gio doesn’t need to get backed as much as Gerrard did. You just need to compare the players Gerrard inherited to the Title winning side Gio got.
As for contracts running down, no one knows when the players were contacted to sign new deals. But players ( like Goldson ) have the option to run down contracts and see what is on offer. You also need teams to bid for your stars and decide if the offer is to the benefit of the club.

Stig, I don't think we'll be able to judge if GVB is being backed until the window closes. As I've said before, can't see Gio would have taken the job without assurances about finances, his reputations on the line here as well as the clubs. We can only hope that everything is in hand mate.

Folks, in all honesty, who actually knows what money is available, I would say no one outside of Ibrox, we need to stop panicking and trust our custodians, some of what I read on here and on Facebook is bordering on hysteria. Trust Gio and Ross to get it right, we have got money, but how much, who knows.

Rangers had just lost 23 million pound because C.V. at that time did stevie g expect another 15 million to spend like it’s nothing lol stevie g is like our 3rd highest spending manager of all time and won 1 trophy gio has already outdone him in 6 months further in Europe and a cup 1st try.

John. I was just saying that maybe sees enough in the squad, with the youngsters coming through and if he can keep the spine of the 1st team squad in place. I wasn't saying we don't need a freshening up. Just speculating my man.
