Just read an article stating Gary McAllister stands by tavernier for captain to stop 10 in a row, I had a real good feeling about this season as well, but tavernier is in Lehman’s terms a ‘Munson’ in my opinion, doesn’t have the mentality, I truly believe he’s one of these nearly men, comfortable in just coming close etc, I still can’t understand how when the team improved tenfold he went to pot? He did have a better season in a lesser team? Maybe he thiught oh there’s so much more talent now I can take my foot off the gas huh 🤔 everything was going great for the new season until I read that 🤔.

This exactly why he is playing in Scotland and we were able to sign him in the first place. If he had mentality he would be playing at a much higher level.

FFS get behind our captain as gerrard obviously rates him with choosing him. Give the guy a break! Sick and tired of this constant roasting of james tavernier, its f*****g way out of order and getting over the top for me anyway! Stop this whipping boy scenario!

"Stop 1 in a row". There, sorted that for you. The acceptance of an awarded, unearned title stopped the run at#8.75. Next season starts at 1, or number 55 for us.

I rate tavernier as a player, I’d even accept him in the team to stop ‘1’ in a row, if needs must . But I honestly believe the pressure of being captain taken off of Tav would help him be able to focus more on his own game, which he needs to do, just drops in focus at times for me. I’d like to see Alfredo become captain, he’s got the right fight to be captain, could do with the morale gain too and a show of backing! Might make his discipline improve with the responsibity? I reckon his goal tally would increase if he was captain too 🤔.

I know Alfredos language barrier would hamper captaincy, but how’s his English coming along? 😂.
