Here's my take on Scott Allan. He's a Rangers fan who wanted to play for Rangers and Hibs wouldn't allow it. Sold to Celtic on a big wage rise. He like the rest of us has bills to pay. Celtic gave him no chance. He's diabetic and inspires thousands and especially youngsters who are affected. I'm not saying he would break into our current team for a second but let's us all cut him a bit of slack and acknowledge he's one of us.

Agree5 Disagree0

Agree - he was used in the worst possible way - doesn't look as though those closest to him gave him the best of advice.

Just a thought - how many of us have lived to regret a decision we have made in life - and in our case we didn't have the whole of Scotland talking about about and vilifying him for doing it - both sides!

We all learn from our mistakes (well most of us) perhaps he has.

I definitely agree with most of what you're saying kf, but he also had the option of running his contact down and then signing for us as far as I remember.
Personally, I think he's a cracking wee player and would add something to our midfield that's been sadly missing at times, a bit of guile and finesse.

I don't buy the s*n or the dr - despicable rags!

It would seem that their sports 'reporters' in the loosest sense, are really ramping up their attack on RFC, no matter what the subject.

I won't give any of them a name, not worthy of one - who has been slagging off RFC for not telling him what they are doing financially; what they are doing with season tickets, and why they don't just give cfc the title.

It should be known that his own beloved tainted club have not informed him of anything either - their silence in public is deafening, but in the halls of the SPFL and SFA their words are produced megaphone style. I seem to remember that style being used during the tax case debacle leading up to them stating they do not like to get involved in other clubs business then sending their venomous letter.

If SPFL allow cfc to award themselves the title then RFC will lose another potential £20 million in EUFA monies next season, and who knows how it will affect them in Europe, money wise, for the rest of this season.

cfc covet the pound but in this case they will cut off their nose to spite their face - shame on them!

This will end up in the courts and could bankrupt. Are the SPFL under their spell that they will allow this to happen? RFC will have the weight and power of EUFA in their side - whose power reigns supreme - do the math!

Not good enough to play for gers imo.

Tilladie, i don't want scott allan at rangers now but believe me he's most definitely IMO, good enough to play for rangers. No time for him now, but he's a cracking midfielder and would add to our midfield with goals and without doubt has the eye/ ability to play the killer ball! Just my honest opinion!

I’ve said this all along, football is a short career as it is, and could be shorter with injury. Our league isn’t like the English or Spanish where one contract has you a millionaire lifestyle for life. These players have families and bills and aspirations in retirement like the rest of us.

If a competitor of my employer paid me double my salary to go and do the same job, I’d jump in a heart beat. I don’t skate any guy that goes to a team for more money. Sometimes I wished they didn’t but to us it’s our hobby, to them it’s their livelihood.

Hes played about 20 games in last 5 years and your comment regarding goals how many has he scored in his career 10 maybe?
Think we ll agree to disagree on this one nate.

05 Apr 2020 15:10:23
Nope, no time for him. He could have run down his contract and joined us for nowt. Even now when he plays against us he kicks everything that moves. Remember that disgraceful tackle on Rossiter? Wee rat who made his bed.

Tilladie, scott allan has played s small amount of games in 5 years because of wasted time at celtic and surely you must know that? He's starting to score goals for hibs as he will do, getting playing every week. In a rangers team with better players around him, scott allan would hit double figures in goals which i'm sure you'll agree is a good amount for a midfielder! So we will agree to disagree here mate!

Absolutely never.

Scott allan is. class. we don't have any player in our squad capable of making the passes he can. My good friend was rangers all through school and celtic came in for him, he moved away to glasgow as soon as he left school. Sometimes career comes first. Rangers were never in for him. Even came with us to manchester08.

Apart from the fact that he is certainly not good enough to play for us (he can't even get a sniff at a very poor Scotland team) he only had to wait a few months, walk away from Hivs, and make even more money for himself by way of a large signing on fee that would have been his instead of a transfer fee. So neither argument - that he had to take the money as it is a short career, or that he is in any way good enough to play for us - hold water with me. Let's put this one to bed now.

The covenanter the scotland midfield is actually a pretty strong area. Ryan jack barely gets a sniff also. they do have some pretty decent players in that area. With gilmour soon to come in. Uv already got mcginn Fleck armstrong Jack Mcgregor mctominay ( who i don't rate) but plays for man u.
