Not a huge Scotland fan any more, but credit where it's due. Outstanding achievement to reach the World Cup after all these years and I"m made up for boy blue, Coops, Stig and the other die hard fans on here. Hope you all enjoyed your night. Must admit I felt stirrings myself, especially with my daughter going mental beside me! Rode our luck at times, but incredible goals at crucial moments made it a great watch.

Made up for Kenny McLean. He's a decent pro who's done well i'm his career and some of the criticism he gets is way over the top. Really do hope we do well in the US next year, guys. I'll be watching, no doubt about that.

I'm in the same boat as you, Seeker. Don't actively have an interest in them after falling out of love with the National team over the years.

But my eldest was going mental watching the game on Tuesday (possibly more so than when he watches Rangers) and it reminded me of watching Scotland. when I was that age.

When the National team was the pinnacle for all sports lovers.

I felt exactly the same watching my daughter celebrate. My son is only interested in Rangers like me, but then that probably only because of my indifference towards the national team. Actually felt as if I'd let him down by not being enthusiastic about Scotland when they play. I was actually born in Wales due to my dad playing there years ago, but tbh I've always felt Scottish, especially when I was younger.

Time for change, I think, to make sure my two enjoy Scotland in tournaments the way I used to. Still can't stand Stevie Clarke mind you, but won't let that stop me from wanting the team to do well next year.

I am fortunate in having listened to or watched Scotland in nine world cup finals starting in the 50,s playing against countries like Paraguay, whom I didn, t even know had a football team. Suffered losing points to outsiders like Iran and Peru, devastated at doing out undefeated in Germany etc. but the excitement never fades, Tuesday must have lifted anyone with Scottish blood in them to a new level, and I have a strange feeling Steve Clarke will do what no manager has done before and get us past the first stage.

Spare a thought for Shankland, does what we all dream about, scoring a crucial goal to take us to the finals and doesn, t get a mention thanks to the three wonder goals any team would be proud of.

Northern Ireland v Italy in first off. Oouch!

I'm much the same guys but always want them to do well, and well done for qualifying, the way the seedlings are we may get a favourable group so I hope we can perform as the last couple of tournaments have been disappointing.

similar, just at the turn of the century i started losing interest in the national team, no real reason i don't believe. though when smith and mcleish became managers it rekindled my desire a bit.

during the eighties and nineties Scotland were immense (couldn't do it in the finals) but if i remember rightly there was a period where Scotland qualified more often than England.

Great night for Scotland and at 2-2 time was running out and we were thinking another hard luck story but two wonderful goals late on sealed our qualification for World Cup 2026.

All the goals will go down in Scottish ??????? Football folklore for years to come.
Best of luck to Scotland and well done to every one of the players and coaching staff.

That's amore, Mark. Sorry.

Thank you seeker, appreciate that pal. It would be hard to watch that and not get some sort of stirrings, so I won't hold that against you ?
Seeker/mph it's all to often that children usually do what there dad does in these situations, so it's commendable that both your kids still love watching Scotland, head strong kids you guys have raised, well done ?.
