How good is it to get another victory? Yes, it was far from a good game, but all that matters is the victory.
Is it just me, or do our players look a lot fitter since Rohl has come in? Against D United we looked out on our feet after 50mins, but last night we looked much fitter. Thank God!
For me, Diomonde, Aasgard, Gassama and Tav need to come back in for Sunday. Yes, Tav is on the decline, but again, Aaron's was miles off last night. If Tav's decision making is poor, then this lad's is even worse when under pressure.
Another thing that stood out for me last night was the improvement in our central defenders. Last night they looked pretty solid, and were throwing themselves into everything. That, for me, is paramount and gives a solid base to build a successful team on.
So far, so good, for D Rohl, but it must continue. Sunday is massive, and if he delivers the victory we all crave, then it's game on.
If we win on Sunday, does that mean I need to come on here with an open apology post for Rohl? ??.

Sunshine, I was thinking our players looked much fitter last night which is a surprise in a week.
30 Oct 2025 09:05:01
I'd expect nothing less from you, sunshine ?.

Get penning that letter mate. ? Glad your slowly being won over sunshine. Would love a win on Sunday obviously but more concerned with just building progress at the moment. We've still a ton to fix. Think last night also showed they're not as bad as we hope.
More an unhappy manager than a rubbish team.
Maybe should be Gassama RWB. Tav looks all over the place sadly and agree about Aarons tho was better than other games. Bit of a problem position for now.

John I think It can be a mindset thing too. If something feels organised it kind of gives you that extra yard. Good step forward and I think if the team can keep up with danillos dad for energy we ll be amazing ?.

I thought we dipped after 1st subs came on, but ground out a good win, and can someone tell me how we managed to take corners, free kicks, throw ins, in the 1st half, when Tav wasn't there to slow everything down as he trotted from one side of the pitch to the other?

I'm not sure it's that the players are fitter, I just think Rohl has them playing in a formation that allows them to press as a pack and with smaller distances to cover when out of possession. Both with Martin and the Smith interim game there was huge gaps between defence and midfield which meant players had to cover much more ground when pressing.
I thought little Barron was immense last night but I do agree that Diomande has to come back in for Sunday.

Bot sure I agree about Aarons, thought he was much better last night than we'd seen previously. Not great but certainly better. Tav was unfortunate at the penalty but it doesn't change the fact that he let us down again.

We got in about them a lot more for the second balls trying to win it back.
I thought Djiga had his best game for us and Barron also had a good game.
Gassama had one of his worst however, looked like he was on ice.
I liked the positional play and the fight but we didn't create many chances. Will take the win however! Was a lot of pressure after our first one.

Sorry to burst your bubbles but you can't get a lot fitter in one week. It's mentality and they're actually playing for the manager for a change. I do think they will get fitter though.

Sunshine, yes another 3 points feels great. It's been a wee while since we had back to back league wins I think. Or maybe it just feels like a long, long time.
Thought the players looked fit for the first 20 minutes.
The team just need more confidence. I think Danny will bring a lot more out of them, and in January I think there will be a few changes. We'll get even better.
We need to be able to put the other team's goalie under more pressure. The Hibs lad had an easy enough night and that shouldn't be happening.
We're Rohling in the right direction. (Sorry).

I think dropping Rothwell made a difference because he's one of the main ones who's looked unfit for some reason. He's got his work cut out to deserve his place back now.
30 Oct 2025 11:05:19
The players maybe look fitter, But for me it's that they're playing for a manager they trust, Not the HOBO we had before. ?????????.
30 Oct 2025 11:10:30
Arrons much better last night and has to play if we go 3 at the back as Tav can't get up and down anymore. Tav too much of a liability.
30 Oct 2025 12:27:47
Blue yes u can get fitter, players have been running every day under new manager, not the case under Martin.
30 Oct 2025 13:10:24
Agreed Blue -You won't get fitter in one week of running but your attitude can change for the better and that's what I see too - a more ready willingness to run and chase which was never apparent under Martin!
30 Oct 2025 14:06:01
Sorry John, you cannot change physiology that much in one week. It's mental and motivational.
30 Oct 2025 15:52:04
Blue go and ask guys like Ferguson and moyes.
30 Oct 2025 16:48:36
You can increase your wattage output in a week if your training is focused and intensity based. A measurable difference in strength and endurance from one week to the next is improved fitness.
It will be a small amount but it will be improved, like the manager says, small steps, but as Blue says it won't be significantly increased, but it will be up.
30 Oct 2025 17:36:56
It's stamina that improved and better shape and understanding of the game.
