I've read some comments on here and Europe this season and I've spoken to a few people whose opinion I value on here as well, what are people's honest opinions about the Europa league this season?

I'm of the opinion that I don't care about it as long as we pick up 3 points in a Sunday. I'm not generally like this either Europe and I value the competition, I just feel that our squad is awful and will complete at this level regardless of who's in charge.

I'm that disheartened with our league performance over the last 15 year that that's all I'm interested in, just win the league at all or any costs.

If we can get rid of Thelwell and Rohl gets to sign some players of his choice then next season we can go again, stronger and ready to be competitive.

Just my opinion and I'm open minded to hear other people's views.

Europe brings in a lot of money so its also very important. Were not going to even get play offs now though but we simply cannot finish on zero points.

As a club ( and the size we are ) we should be striving to improve every season:-
Domestically in the league.
Domestically in the cups.
And in Europe.
I would take domestic triumph over Europe any day of the week.
But Europe is also a very profitable revenue stream for the club.
Over recent seasons we are built a decent reputation at Europa League level.
That is in danger of being evaporated this season.
Especially as there is 3 clubs in the top 8 we have previously outplayed – Midtjylland, Braga and Plzen.
And even teams in the CL – Galatasaray and USG.
The issue is mismanagement at board level.
From wrong appointments ( in fans eyes ).
To recruitment / selling of players ( in fans eyes).
We can't keep on hoping we will get it right or we will definitely fall further away in Europe.

Now we must hope that Rohl and the players at his disposal start to get it right in all competitions.
It's also a vicious circle from fan demand perspective.
Win the league, invest, do OK in Europe, invest, win the league and a cup domestically, invest, punch above our weight in Europe, invest and so on.
At some point we must go all in and get it right domestically before even thinking about getting it right in Europe.
I don't want to be like Celtic – dominant domestically but awful in Europe.
I want to dominate domestically and have a good enough European run that it wets our appetite season after season.
For too long Europa League Thursdays have been that one constant excitement.
That needs to change.

We are in it and need to get at least a couple of points, just to save the embarassment. really wanted more from it but i didn't even take the tickets this season one reason being i thought we were stuck with martin until Christmas. but really yah it seems more like a distraction at the moment but need to get on with it.

League is primo. no ifs ands or buts. Europe can wait until we can actually compete and not get embarrassed. loved the dundee game and the atmosphere. say what you like but the spl has its own personality. maybe not pretty to watch. but its not all about playing like barcelona.4 games left in Europe probably finish with 6 points at most.

Europe is a wash out this year for the mistakes with recruitment and Martin.

10 Nov 2025 15:21:29
The sooner we're out of Europe the better.
No game midweek would be a huge advantage.
The league has to be priority.

We do win the league this season it would be with players Thelwell signed Dado, I would prefer he was showed the door, but if that did happen would he get any praise for winning the league in his first year as dof? I know that answer, just concentrate of taking three points every league game as see where we are in May, need 3 wins out of 4 for staying in Europe, I'd prefer concentrating on the league myself.

10 Nov 2025 16:27:31
Europe is important for te extra revenue but like many i'd be happy to see the back of it this season.

10 Nov 2025 17:07:51
Last few seasons we have been punching above our weight in Europe, but unfortunately we have regressed due to the massive overhaul and loss of quality and experience in our squad.
European football is a must for financial reasons but like most games in the EL this season it's been a step too far.

No doubt DR will get this right if given the backing by the board in the transfer market.

Still miles away from hearts and Celtic at the moment maybe hearts will drop like a stone now maybe they won't. But it's a long way back for us concerning title talk.

10 Nov 2025 18:15:30
If you finish above Celtic you are champions, we are 5 points behind…we are in it…whether we stay in it is different story. Hearts will be reeled in slowly over time by Celtic…and hopefully us

Europe is very important financially also we shouldn't be whipping boys at Europa level.

10 Nov 2025 18:27:31
12 still to play for Coully, u never know bud?.

10 Nov 2025 19:07:11
Yeah no title talk from me either, just 3 points against Livingston. Interesting points and I appreciate the input.

10 Nov 2025 19:21:20
Love the European nights.
We have to prioritise the league this season though as Celtic are very close to touching distance from us and I think Hearts will come back to us.
I have a feeling there's something in the league for us this season.

Star, why should we give players more time to adapt but not give Thelwell time?

If the players need time to adapt then why is Thelwell the issue, if the issue is time?

10 Nov 2025 21:46:48
I think we need to win the league or at least the Scottish cup this year, as second place is Conference League (I don't really understand this, but it appears to be the case).

Income from the Conference League is around 40% compared to the Europa.

10 Nov 2025 21:51:53
Coldo ain't wasting any more time with you, why are you using both Coleraine and Vernon? silly individual.

11 Nov 2025 10:54:05
Can you answer the question? Its a fair point.

If the players need time to adapt then why is Thelwell the issue, if the issue is time?

On one hand you say Thelwell is the issue, so if you believe that Thelwell is an issue then naturally you won't have faith in his signings.

On the other hand you say that the players need time to adapt.

So if the players need time then you must have faith in the signings so why would you then want rid of Thelwell for being the issue?

Its a fair question to ask you?
