You guys will never believe this but just heading back from work tonight and pulled into a service station and guess who pulls in next to me? . Davie Weir! He was driving a people carrier and Van Persie was in front seat then behind him sat Lescott and garner and senderos then behind them were Christopher Samba and mariappa and the hat squashed in the corner. All I could hear was versus of simply the best ringing out! Who knows where they were heading but they looked like they were in a hurry ⚽🤔.

18 Aug 2016 01:42:45
Your spot on Kennyg - I didn't want to let the cat out the bag earlier but they all got off the last Easyjet flight from Gatwick -EZY887- earlier tonight just before 10pm - can't wait for Saturday :)

18 Aug 2016 02:47:13
They've got to be on their way to the famous curry house to have dinner with Partick Thistle players!

18 Aug 2016 04:28:42
And to tell anyone who would listen all about their plans and the in's and out's of their contracts.

18 Aug 2016 08:39:00
😂😂😂😂😂 good yin.

18 Aug 2016 12:01:04
I take it van persie called shotgun.

17 Aug 2016 23:32:47
Long time reader first time poster, tbh i think lescott could do a job up here but maybe no the big games, maybe the hat wants him to play smaller teams in league and senderos for the bigger games because neither of them have the legs to last a full season imo. They'd both be quality signings and i think if we get both and jg the title would be ours to lose.

18 Aug 2016 08:41:22
Why is MW trying to sign players with no legs? Surely that's the first thing a football player needs is legs. How would even get the famous black and red socks on? Suppose he could put them on his hands and drag himself about the park. But I don't see how this is feesible.

18 Aug 2016 12:50:17
Lescott would be an amazing addition. Yes he was poor in a Villa Team that lacked confidence and were shocking however at both City and West brom he proved his worth. This is the same player that around 2 years ago being touted for England.

17 Aug 2016 22:34:27
Guys, am Goni get slaughtered here but a have to say what I saw, I was at the esso station a few clicks from Loch Lomond when a saw Barry Ferguson with his wife and bairns. A had a chat with him and jokingly said has the hat offered you a job yet, we could do with you. Bazza said, al be back soon, me and big davie are always talking . Sooooo, a rekon in a few years davie will take over and bazza will be his assistant, you heard it hear first guys, no shittin.

18 Aug 2016 12:29:11
I smell bull but barry is a good rangers man and would like to see him back in at some capacity.

18 Aug 2016 13:14:55
he won't be back anytime soon, he's unsackable at Clyde.

17 Aug 2016 22:22:44
How's the challenge cup defence going. Hear you had a major fixture tonight.

18 Aug 2016 09:08:56
Pumped 3-1 by stenny champions are the only colts left.

18 Aug 2016 13:50:04
Says it all mally. Second rate aged first team, no youth policy. No much of a future for poor bears fans.

18 Aug 2016 11:11:04
Must have been a representative from your club there surely! I mean it was under 20s after all.

17 Aug 2016 21:35:03
I'm usually a very patient rangers supporter regarding us signing players but even I'm beginning to wonder what the hold up is with joe garner still not signed for us, it must be the longest medical regarding any player in our history, it was reported that joe garner was up for his medical on tuesday afternoon and still no word on garner.

17 Aug 2016 21:49:37
I think that was just the press jumping the gun mate. the players also have wed off and the manager was down in Manchester so if he has sold his vision to lescott then hopefully announce two signings tomorrow.

18 Aug 2016 06:00:08
It does sound odd but you can never trust the press tbh. All they are saying is that we are being made to sweat?!

17 Aug 2016 15:59:14
Seems the Garner move is all down to his agent rather than Rangers scouting him and initiating contact. Fee also nowhere near the sums quoted, a better deal some would say.

17 Aug 2016 16:34:45
How do you know this and I can't see mw taking a player because an agent said.

17 Aug 2016 16:53:54
We know this how?

17 Aug 2016 17:10:38
Not sure about the agent part but I really cannot see us paying 1.8 million for any player as we simply don't have the money.

17 Aug 2016 17:16:50
If he bangs in the goals i don't care how the move came about.

17 Aug 2016 17:44:03
Money can be raised or do you lack the brain power to realise that? Where do you think the 5m came from to repay a****y? We couldn't "afford" that either by your estimation. Start listening to the gaffer if it represents value and adds something to the squad we don't already posses we will move not because you don't think we have enough money or because you don't think there good enough, your opinion doesn't matter a toss in comparison to MW/ DW/ FMcP hence why there the qualified professionals in there positions.

17 Aug 2016 18:21:21
Each player with the agency that Garner is with gets what is called a Player Services Manager. That person basically acts like a concierge service for whichever client they get assigned to. Garner's is a certain Elisha Warburton. Conversation is said to have gone loosely as follows. The agent involved, John Colquhoun asked if a certain relative of Ms Warburton would be interested in a striker at a knock down rate as Preston needed the money. Lo and behold, he's on his way north. MW could've said no but chose to say yes.

17 Aug 2016 18:40:32
Its apparently £750k now same again next season with £200k in potential add ons.

17 Aug 2016 18:52:24
Huey, I did post this myself on monday mate ie.750k now,750k next year and another possible 200k on add ons dependant on appearances.

17 Aug 2016 20:20:54
Sensible one you know this how.

17 Aug 2016 21:46:32
Remember the 5 asterisks Sensibleone!

17 Aug 2016 21:47:20
Heard that breakdown of costs from a few different places but don't know anything about his agent. I did give you lescott was signing nearly 2 weeks ago and got laughed at.

17 Aug 2016 23:03:45
Here's my take on this, the board is trying to assure the manager they're not backing down on the funds available, but at the same time trying to scupper any deal blaming agents clubs etc.

18 Aug 2016 03:07:13
@Gers11. I know someone well who wonks at said agency. Waghorn, Tavernier and Zelalem are all represented by the same. MW also trusts their opinion on players, hence the relative "punt" on Garner.

@Huey. Nice work!

18 Aug 2016 06:00:27
*works*. Doh.

18 Aug 2016 12:36:12
sensible one he wouldn't take anybodys word for it anyone we are getting in he has been looking at for a while I can assure u of that he is a smart man and wouldn't take an agencys word that their player is good enough.

18 Aug 2016 14:35:03
All about opinions and what you know.

17 Aug 2016 15:51:35
Any update on Garner signing?

17 Aug 2016 15:32:39
How do I find out how I'm doing in the correct score compo any 1.

{Ed033's Note - You go to the Correct Score Competition page.

17 Aug 2016 11:55:22
Ive been keeping my eye on the youth team over last year or so and 1 player keeps popping up and producing the goods is the lad zak rudden i hope he flourishes under warburton and the new academy set up and maybe we will have a wee gem coming through . i really like the way warburton is overseeing the youth academy set up.

17 Aug 2016 12:03:58
I've seen the same as well as Jamie Barjonas and Liam Burt. For me though I really wanted to see Ross McCrorie coming through. He seems extremely versatile playing LB/ RB/ CB and I believe he played midfield for Ayr. But young Zak seems to have an eye for goal. wouldn't mind seeing some highlights of these boys! I believe they are playing tonight?

17 Aug 2016 12:31:15
Watched big zak on numerous occassions as my brother played in the same team as him for a few years in the academy. He's an aggressive forward with a big of pace and certainly can score a goal or two, the kind of forward we've been lacking recently. Would be fantastic to see him break into the first team in a few years time!

17 Aug 2016 13:41:20
Does anyone know where the u20s game is being played tonight is it at mp?

17 Aug 2016 14:05:28
Will be interesting to see how young lads get on this evening playing against older professional players.

17 Aug 2016 14:10:11
Yeah iv heard his name mentioned more frequently the last 18 months or so, I think they have high hopes for Zak, but iv never seen the boy play.

17 Aug 2016 15:40:36
Fergie its at forthbank stadium mate stirling albion ground.

17 Aug 2016 17:46:52
Think the only name that keeps popping up is Burt since he's actually made the bench and if I remember correctly appearances too. Our youth is terrible and its by time people realise that its going to be a number of years before we see the rewards from the revamp.

17 Aug 2016 17:48:39
Cheers bigtrfc much obliged.

17 Aug 2016 11:23:15
Graeme Murty appointed head development coach. Anyone know anything about him as a coach?

17 Aug 2016 12:02:05
Hey BigJon, I know he was the Southampton academy coach for the under 12's when they were going through their development stage from league one. Think it was in 2012 and then he moved on to Norwich which is where we have taken him from!

17 Aug 2016 12:10:14
Good appointment as we establish solid and professional foundations for future development of the academy. Congratulations and Welcome Graeme Murty to Rangers.

17 Aug 2016 13:28:59
Sounds like a great appointment then. Anyone involved in Southampton's youth set up, whatever the level, obviously knows what hey are doing. Thanks teddy.

17 Aug 2016 14:11:08
True Southampton have a very good academy.

17 Aug 2016 14:14:01
Graham Murty as in the ex Reading defender?!

17 Aug 2016 15:38:11
Teddy, you know anything about this Graeme Murty character?

17 Aug 2016 11:01:53
Graeme Murty appointed Head Development Squad Coach.

17 Aug 2016 15:36:50
That's a good call. He's a very well respected coach.

17 Aug 2016 10:29:22
I have to say it again but I take my hat off to Simon Grayson regarding the Garner transfer. The way in which he has acted is fantastic. They didn't have to sell but let the player choose. Some managers really need to take note.

17 Aug 2016 17:53:21
You need a reality check. He's acted in the perfect way in front of the media it doesn't mean he's happy with him moving or wants him to move. No manager wants to lose there best players regardless so why should they take note? Should they take note and get better media training or should they take note and sell there best players or what? This is real life and players to many clubs are just assets and there's that much money involved it doesn't matter. But yes I'm sure all the managers going through there different scenarios and situations unique to each club should take note and just allow there players to be sold when every circumstance and transfer is completely different. What you mean is they should take note and if Rangers put a bid in let them go that's what you really mean. Guy knows how to get good press and that's the only note they should take since you have no idea what being a manager, working for a football team or even undergoing a transfer is like so yeah everyone take notes.

17 Aug 2016 18:50:08
No the point was regarding how his manner was with the media. Before the bid was accepted or rejected he wanted to speak with the player. This is what I was getting at. If the money was right then it should be down to the player.

Look at it this way some1 bids 5mill for Tav. Money is right so speak with the player first before rejecting or accepting the bid.

17 Aug 2016 10:19:18
Advocaat is the new manager at Fenerbache. Hopefully he can convince his new club to spend £10-12m on one or two of our players. Wilson and Kiernan are surely worth that.

17 Aug 2016 10:41:47
Maybe he can persuade Van Persie to come?

17 Aug 2016 10:54:48
Every single penney!

17 Aug 2016 10:04:39
Apparently Lescott is "extremely keen" on joining Rangers after talks with the hat and he's close to finalising a deal rumoured to be worth 15-20k a week.

17 Aug 2016 14:53:00
Can we hold you to this mate?

17 Aug 2016 16:45:02
I hope not.

18 Aug 2016 07:55:52
Just what I've heard from a few people at MP, can't vouch for the validity of it but that was the rumour being spread over the last few days!

17 Aug 2016 09:24:20
Colin Hendry has came out and said we should've signed £6m Grant Hanley in the transfer window. Think big Colin is on the sauce again. Why stop there big man? We shoulda signed Pogba too.

17 Aug 2016 11:31:34
prefer danny Wilson.

17 Aug 2016 14:50:45
Kiernan over Hanley every time.

17 Aug 2016 15:41:15
Not a huge fan of Hanley either. Where does big Colin think we're getting £6m from to buy a mediocre player?

17 Aug 2016 09:23:28
look I don't think lescott is the answer but I hope i'm wrong and he proves to be a good addition .
heard on the radio he is in talks with us today.

17 Aug 2016 11:57:06
I agree as our defence is already lacking pace. Would prefer Senderos to Lescott.

17 aug 2016 12:38:21
hopefully we get both.

17 Aug 2016 13:54:22
Our centre backs lack a lot more than pace! Lescott will be a significant improvement!

17 Aug 2016 15:28:51
yes tom42 but with the way we play football surely we will go for pace because he can't defend when he is playing catch up we need sum1 that can run and even slow a player down till he gets there he is a big guy and is solid but its only the pace that scares me when we are playing games we look way too open at the back and good teams like hearts the sheep and the other personts will rip us apart if we have no pace especially the manky mob wi that sinclaire who is probs the best buy of the season in scotland.

17 Aug 2016 09:05:29
I think is funny when people on here think they know what a player wants in his football contract and life. I saw the picture with lescott and MW and to my HUGE surprise I only saw the 2 of them at a table. the way some people on here go on you would think they were at the meeting too. I know it's a rumour site and some people would like pique and ramos at centre back but that ain't going to happen. for us normal people living on planet earth we want real potential information not something your grannies dogs brothers owner heard down the dole office whilst eating a kebab waiting on his money to get a menzies flight.
for me if lescott wants to join us over another team he has offer from then I'd welcome it because no doubt in my mind he is a strong CB and he will be our answer to toure. if we also get senderos that's great too as we will have good cover. also signing these guys will help bring Danny and Keirnan on as in defensive years these guys are young and have lots to learn. remember whether or not you played in the spl before we have been gone for years and this is a step up for a lot of these player as there mentality is the last games which was Scottish championship. the players WILL get better. As a team we WILL get better. we WILL start winning then we WILL challenge for the title but have patience Rome wasn't built in a day. I want us to smash every dirty manky team in the spl that voted us out and I'm glad the suffered financially without us (proven by celtic charging £49 for old firm ticket and £29 for other matches) now it's time to join together and stop moaning about players coming in that last year would have been a dream come true and trust in warbs and weir till they give us a reason not too.

17 Aug 2016 09:30:31
I hope your right in saying hew will be our answer to toure but I think that two good cb's should have been the priority. that being said I do think almost every signing has made us stronger (crooks still to be seen)

17 Aug 2016 10:37:11
Good post! I would love if we signed both senderos and lescott, I have no doubt Lescott will do wellhere and if i'm not mistaken Lescott was played ahead of Kolo Toure at city.

17 Aug 2016 11:32:14
the way people talk about current players is shocking, hardly anyone knows how to actually support the team and players.

17 Aug 2016 13:56:51
This is nothing to do about current players. It has everything to do with improving the team and picking up silverware. Our current centre backs can only learn from players like Lescott and Senderos, assuming that they want to that is!

17 Aug 2016 14:02:08
Isn't it the curry house near the petrol station by the airport. Just sayin.

17 Aug 2016 15:33:32
in all my years of supporting rangers we have always been critical about any players that haven't been up to the standard that we need and expect!
its hardly surpising that people are saying r/ k and d/ w aren't good enough because well simply put the aren't!

as rangers fans we expect the best and if we don't think sum1 can perform we have always been known to let our feelings be known.

17 Aug 2016 13:17:54
Great post d4rr3n81. Patience is the key. As you point out, this is a work in progress. It will take time to gel fully but already we've gone through the League Cup games without conceding a goal and beat Motherwell on the way. 4 points from the first 2 SPL games isn't bad either. I too would be happy if Lescott, Senderos and Garner all sign! Potentially, the best signing of all is Jordan Rossiter and I can't wait to see him against Broony in the first Old Firm match!

17 Aug 2016 13:39:22
Well said mate people moan about no CB for week the manager is doing his job trying to fix that let's get behind them and move this club forwards.

16 Aug 2016 23:58:13
Photo of MW and Lescott together today. definitely talks have happened, let's give the guy a chance if he signs. Some bad publicity in his career, but has been a 30 mill defender in his time (like that lot with kolo but Lescott still got a few years more in him! )

17 Aug 2016 06:34:40
Im actually hoping we get Joleon Lescott tbh, Sunderland are in for him now aswell though.

17 Aug 2016 09:00:18
If Sunderland are in for him he will probally get offered more to go there and playing in premiership its hit and miss with lescott. might be a bargain might be dodging a bullet don't know what your getting.

17 Aug 2016 09:31:54
I think he wants to win trophies in his final years and he can't do that with them only us will give him what he wants.

17 Aug 2016 13:45:02
Ye could be right James and he's getting a years wages off villa.

17 Aug 2016 15:35:37
I just hope that warbs doesn't offer him a 3 year contract like barton which I think was a mistake 1 year contract with another potentially depending on how he does and I would have given barton two years! they are both what 33 so really at the end of their playing careers.

17 Aug 2016 12:07:31
If Sunderland are in for him let's see where money comes into it and if he wants to fight for trophies with Rangers or fight relegation with Sunderland.
