Is it just me or was waggy playing for himself and not the team Saturday? The assists he could have had by passi8instead of tryi5beat men and shoot on sight. Is he putting himself in the window?

11 Dec 2016 19:34:53
Don't know if he is intentionally doing that but more the fact he's not match fit or sharp. Looks a guy low on confidence and out the picture.

11 Dec 2016 19:44:54
I think Waghorns always been abit selfish tbh.

11 Dec 2016 20:20:23
He holds it up well and suits the system very well imo. Just he needs the team to be playing well imp.

11 Dec 2016 20:31:43
Think it was more eager to please rather than selfish he was just trying to hard imo wanting to prove himself to the fans by the looks of it.

11 Dec 2016 20:59:16
I don't necessarily think he does hold the ball up well. Garner has done that job a mile better than waghorn since he's started and contributes more. for the team with a lot more passion. He obviously doesn't 'suit the system' when he's not been keeping his place. Moh is a better option down the right where waggy has been playing.

11 Dec 2016 21:56:00
Got to agree Brian1978.

11 Dec 2016 22:15:44
Waghorn wouldn't be missed if he went in Jan. I would sell him and use money for CB.

12 Dec 2016 00:08:26
Bears, imo Wags is top of list of players to go and it looks like we ultimately have to move players on if we want to bring any in even loans other than Wags who else should be moved on I know Dodoo ain't done much but think i'd give him another year.

12 Dec 2016 07:51:56
I don't mean he holds it up as a target man and holding off defenders I mean he keeps the ball up top doesn't just needlessly give away possession like dodoo, forester or moh. Just like mackay he can go down the line, or inside play a neat pass. But our game relies on keeping the ball in the final third.

12 Dec 2016 11:34:29
I think it's simply the case that he is trying too hard. I feel he still has a lot to offer the club and will come good very soon.

13 Dec 2016 13:08:19
I think he was trying too hard to impress ne is a greedy striker but that's not always a bad thing.

he will play well when the rest of the team does aswell.
I still say me need a left footed winger keep McKay out on the right.

holt and halliday are good players more so holt i'd say but windass and rossiter will; come back and claim their spot so one of them will be out of the first team I think.

id buy two cb's, left footed winger but only if they where quality.
i'd wait till the summer to buy another goalscorer.

11 Dec 2016 12:21:46
A few posts on here claiming we've "turned a corner" after two good games.

I am delighted we are starting to play better but 2 good games does not mean a corner turned. The last two games are how we should have been performing all season.

Right now it's a case of and hope we continue to improve.

11 Dec 2016 14:18:49
How many games would you say gives fans a chance to say, a corner has been turned?

It wasn't just two games though was is. It was two absolutely dominant performances against teams in and around us in the table.

We keep hearing how the 5-1 defeat and the 1-0 defeat in the SF could have been a lot more had we not been fortunate.

Aberdeen were lucky to get a goal against us in the last minute, and were fortunate it was only 2-1. Hearts were extremely fortunate it was only 2-0, it could have been much more.

Fans didn't give us a chance going into those games and had MWs departure as a certainty in their heads.

The same fans who are calling for calm after two wins were the same doing the complete opposite when they wanted Warburton out the door, and at that point were anything but calm.

We're allowed to have belief and excitement about our team going forward.
That isn't just reserved for the lot from the East.

11 Dec 2016 14:37:15
The people calling for MW's departure are not fans. they want a return to the glory days of WS and DM's £millions that got us where we have been in recent years.

Would the same fans be calling for Peps departure at Man C? Change does not happen overnight if it is going to have lasting positive effect.

Let the wingers have their say. it just shows how out of touch they are.

Build from the bottom with the next 10 years in mind, not just the next 10 weeks.

11 Dec 2016 14:58:10
Agree with your post.

Think most fans TBH realise we can't spend anywhere near as much as Celtic and certainly not while the club doesn't have European football.

Think most fans were surprised we had the money to buy Garner TBH, considering most still think we have nothing to spend, which is just as ridiculous as those who think we have millions to spend every window and think that DK should be giving MW significantly more money.

We have to spend to match them but wisely. The gamble with Barton and Kranjcar didn't pay off in hindsight but at the time it was a very shrewd move.

11 Dec 2016 15:03:05
with mckay saying about the league not being over i'd expect you to get beat or draw next game, seems to happen to you a lot this season when your players speak up. just an observation.

11 Dec 2016 16:11:26
Bhoywonder, coming from you, you will probably be right. There is probably not a Rangers fan around who knows more about the club than your good self.

11 Dec 2016 16:28:41
cheers cullin mate, its posts like yours above that keeps me coming back on here . appreciated pal ;)

11 Dec 2016 17:55:18
Thorn, we were also lucky we weren't beat 5 or 6 nil at hearts. I'm happy to be proved wrong and were doing well last 2 performances have been pretty good but yeah I'd say 5 or 6 good performances before we can say we've turned the corner! Certainly looking a bit brighter mate tho!

11 Dec 2016 21:53:20
We aren't playing the same, we have turned a corner we beat the two teams around us in a week and our two best prospects come back next week. Corner turned.

11 Dec 2016 22:15:11
Two home games that were great to watch and in which we humped our main rivals for second place. Let's see what we're like at Accies on friday night, an artificial surface, very little atmosphere, where the players will have to work possibly even harder to get a result. That to me will be another test of character and a victory will surely indicate the improvement is sustained.

12 Dec 2016 00:24:27
Pfft, Playing at home to a team with a new manager, a team that gets a perfectly good goal chopped off and a player booked for diving when he clearly did not and two goals born of sloppy defending rather than superior attacking football. Don't get the party hats and ticker tape out quite just yet.

12 Dec 2016 09:23:23
Why not? After all what we always hear (especially from the other mob) is winning is all that matters, no extra points for artistic impression.

12 Dec 2016 09:24:28
BR65 what makes you think you have the right to say anyone is not a fan because they have an opinion on the manager?!

I can understand why some might get ahead of themselves. We are all desperate to see the glory days back at Ibrox but we have had too many false dawns over the past few years.

We need to be performing more like the past couple of games consistently for a sustained period before we can claim to have turned a corner.

12 Dec 2016 15:11:10
The results at home against Aberdeen and Hearts are encouraging but we still have a long way to go to secure second spot never mind regain our title. We need to start winning away from hime and I am sure that Mr Warburton knows that we are still a number of players short on the quality we need, especially in midfield. That said, the encouraging factor in the above games has been our aggression and evident desire to win!

13 dec 2016 13:17:22
everyone with a brain knows we have aways to go yet guys but we deservedly beat the two surrounding us and even better we played with passion aggression so all this sum1 had a goal disallowed malarkey is just grasping at straws to put us down in both of those games we where by far the better side and could have won by more than we did so guys like "shdark" or whoever else wants to bring up points like that let them have their little pittifull attempt to keep us from gaining any confidence as imo it will not work as it has very little effect on people with a brian.

11 Dec 2016 11:06:29
Good to see the gers fans clap garner off yesterday, I love players like joe garner, he's murder to play against, and he gives his all, the reason he doesn't score is because he drops deep to bring others into play, anyway I bet him and the team still get the usual doom and gloom posts, I'm just glad iv backed them from day one and will continue to back them.

11 Dec 2016 13:11:17
@delboy1979 - agree with the full post. In my opinion the end of the season is the time to criticise / review the situation. The habit of some fans changing their opinion on a game to game basis is out of order.

11 Dec 2016 13:41:16
He's a dirty sod and is going to do someone some real damage if he keeps on jumping into them with his elbows. that's 4 by my count to date. He is also very average! The lad Dodoo you have looks like a much better prospect imo.

11 Dec 2016 14:36:41
Really pleased for manager that he got response he was wanting after tynecastle game. I've said before there's a lot of work going on behind the scenes and think it's worth getting behind mw. If only we could get serious investment and he could have a fair crack at Celtic.

11 Dec 2016 15:05:54
Love it tompo88,garner must be doing something right for a Tim to reply like that lol.

11 Dec 2016 15:43:07
Honestly mate he's rank rotten and for someone that looks to put himself about so much, spends more time on his arse than feet. Wasn't long ago most were giving it tight and rightly so. then after a couple of games running about like a headless chicken, with no goals I might add. he's some how become amazing!?!?

11 Dec 2016 16:14:28
Unlike the rest that were giving garner stick, I believed in him and said give him time, garner gives 100% every time he pulls on that jersey, and I love those kind of players, because they are a very rare in the modern game,

11 Dec 2016 18:00:10
Rather see eleven guys that try heart out every week than a team with no bottle sure garner will score a few n the guy has limitations but I love to see him putting himself about up there.

11 Dec 2016 21:32:59
It's all about winning and as I have said before I don't care how we win so long as we win. If he kicks the Celtic players up and down the park and clatters a few of them into oblivion it is no big deal, the majority of us will be delighted.

12 Dec 2016 07:53:01
Must be difficult tompo you've got a 40 million pound striker who has scored the same amount of goals as 700k Crawford and is 6"2 but still rolls around and dives like a little girl.

11 Dec 2016 19:43:51
Garner looks good just now, if he was playing for the magnificent team who beat man city 3-3 and fu&@ed bmg 1-1 AWAY and then blew man city reserves away his big toe or one of his other toes would be worth 20m.

13 dec 2016 13:24:22
i personally like garner but also at the same time don't think he has the quality needed when it comes to finishing

i aslo think the reason most fans including myself like him thommo is because when other players see their teammate putting in a shift like that they also put that bit extra in and most teams need a player like that.

most of the time players like garner play in the middle of the park but let's not forget larson and ally mcoist both struggled at first to even get games never mind score goals .

im not saying he will even be close to them but i am saying the goals might start coming we just need to give him time.

14 Dec 2016 14:44:58
Certainly cannot fault the boys commitment. that's for sure, but as USA mentioned about clattering Celtic players up and down the pitch. from the 2 games I have seen he has elbowed someone then spent most of the games on his arse trying to get other players booked whilst looking quite pathetic. As you say James he may well still come good for you and certainly puts all his effort in, but has a very ugly side to his game and work effort can only take you so far (IMO) if your postion is ST.

11 Dec 2016 10:46:58
I honestly thought garner would have been scoring more hopefully that will come but he does lead the line superbly well.

11 Dec 2016 15:07:21
The reason he doesn't score a lot of goals is because he drops deep to bring others into play, give me 11 joe garners anytime.

10 Dec 2016 22:28:49
lets not get carried away with two or three results aberdeen have a game in hand we have celtic at ibrox garner is playing better but he needs to learn to keep his name out of the book or he will end up suspended we still need midfielder and kick your heid of sweeper.

11 Dec 2016 07:21:39
How about saying, "good to see the team respond after the hearts game! . Aberdeen drew with St Johnstone so no guarantee they will win their game in hand. Good to see some effort from Garner but he needs to be careful. Thought Barrie M looked better after his rest, onwards and upwards! "?

11 Dec 2016 10:12:32
@largebill - credit where it's due. The team are hopefully moving in the right direction. If Aberdeen win there game in hand they are still 3rd. You say we've Celtic to play? what's that got to do with anything? The Sheep have still to play then again as well and what makes you think they have a better chance of beating them?

12 Dec 2016 09:44:36
Do you not think we need a goal scoring striker? It's good to see us creating a lot of chances however we need to start taking them. 5-0 wouldn't have flattered us yesterday.

12 Dec 2016 10:34:46
Union Jack

Think what he means is that Aberdeen have already played them twice in the league and we haven't.
