Did arfield sign a pre contract agreement.

ger1

1.) 11 May 2018 18:38:18
Arfield signed four year deal

2.) 11 May 2018 19:30:32
Arfield hasn't signed yet he can't until he runs his present contract down

3.) 11 May 2018 20:04:57
Yeah he signed a pre-contract which will start once his present deal with Burnley expires.

4.) 11 May 2018 22:02:45
pre contract apparently but past experience let's wait till pre season training we remember wee mo with a hoops scarf.

12 Apr 2016 16:27:32
Gavin gunning?

ger1

1.) 12 Apr 2016 16:34:19
No chance, thank god he picked Birmingham over us all those years ago, he is a shambles of a defender.

2.) 12 Apr 2016 16:51:44
For us to sign? he's murder no thanks.

3.) 12 Apr 2016 22:55:06
From dundee uniteds results this season, probably most definitely avoid this one.

4.) 13 Apr 2016 13:30:56
Mixus explanation for him picking ball up walking off and then leaving is one of biggest jokes of season.

Glad he went to Birmingham, bullet dodged.

5.) 13 Apr 2016 08:57:58
Better aff with gavin and stacey.

17 Feb 2016 17:05:45
Any news on waggy?

ger1

1.) 18 Feb 2016 07:31:40
6 weeks.

2.) 18 Feb 2016 13:34:01
seems a good time to get rid of one of our back up strikers then. One who plays on plastic ever week almost for under 20's.

3.) 18 Feb 2016 14:51:30
Don't think he, s seen as a back up striker Bill, more a kid for the future.

4.) 18 Feb 2016 18:35:01
Possibly so Tomtom12, but he's been on the bench often enough, and I'm sure he would at least have expected to move up the pecking order with waghorn out for 6-8 weeks.

5.) 19 Feb 2016 15:52:41
We have arguably one of the best managers we have had in a long time.
Playing some of the best football in decades.
We are top of our league in a Cup Final into 1/ 4s of Scottish Cup.
By my reckoning our management team know what they are doing, and the capabilities and readiness of any of our callow youths.
Indeed they have not been slow to utilise them in present team.
The average age is probably youngest in living memory.
However we seem to have a few Pepe Guardiolas and Jose Mouriniho Govan experts here that want to challenge the decision taken by W&W to loan this lad out .
I know who I prefer to listen to and who I think has better knowledge than some armchair Football/ Fantasy Managers.

6.) 19 Feb 2016 20:49:14
Warburton is backed 100% by the Rangers support and he is one of the best managers we have had in a long time - totally agree.
It's better to send young players out on loan rather than have them on the bench or playing in the u20s Development League.
In Warbs we trust.

07 Dec 2020 12:20:45
Quick question lads and I know this team hasn't won anything yet but were do we rate this team in comparison to our nine in a row teams.

ger1

1.) 07 Dec 2020 12:33:54
That's a hard one. This team cost a lot less in relative terms than some of those that were played back then, and some of the individuals we had, like Laudrup, Gazza etc are far above our current players, but in terms of achievement, and having come from where we were, I think this team will be heroes for a generation if we win the league this year.

2.) 07 Dec 2020 12:34:14
Our 9iar teams would destroy this one in my opinion.

3.) 07 Dec 2020 12:48:43
No comparison mate!
Yes, we are playing extremely well, but our 9iar team cleaned up domestically (against a far superior Celtic team to the one now), regularly represented us in the champs league (one win away from reaching the final in 92/ 93 season) and had resources (well, debatable) to spend millions on players of the calibre of Gazza and Laudrup.

4.) 07 Dec 2020 12:49:28
Hard to judge that mate, as walter smith had a helluva lot more money to spend on the team than steven gerrard has had to spend on his rangers team 🤔Yes there was undoubtedly more quality in our 9iar winning team, but it doesn't smear the fact that gerrard and his management team, have done a terrific job in what they've built to date and not finished yet 👌.

5.) 07 Dec 2020 12:53:15
Ger1 not even close.

6.) 07 Dec 2020 13:07:11
Slim Jim, agreed
BUT IF we were to get, #55, my oh my, a wee bit of history there for them to aim at.

7.) 07 Dec 2020 13:17:09
9 in a row team would win without breaking sweat.

{Ed001's Note - oh I dunno, they must be in their 50s by now, they probably would work up a sweat just putting their boots on these days...}

8.) 07 Dec 2020 13:26:31
Destroy, never. We've got a great team.

9.) 07 Dec 2020 13:26:55
yah the 9iar would hammer this current team but to be honest i am more proud of this team if we get the job done. on much less of a budget, with a rookie manager and coming from where we have been will make it even more satisfying. The icing on the cake would be that we have a full house at Ibrox to watch them lift the trophy.

10.) 07 Dec 2020 14:03:01
Slim is right in my opinion guys.

11.) 07 Dec 2020 14:11:30
Slim jim i agree with u.

12.) 07 Dec 2020 14:14:26
Destroy I doubt.

13.) 07 Dec 2020 14:52:08
Sgl am pretty sure gerrard has spent close to 30mill.

14.) 07 Dec 2020 14:52:56
Ed that’s a good one but the team the now still wouldn’t get close to them 👍.

15.) 07 Dec 2020 15:15:51
There is an old saying 'Comparisons are odious', which basically means that it is unfair and pointless to compare certain things, people, etc as it is out of context. The money Murray 'had' in the 90s to bankroll the great 9-in-a-row teams can't be compared to now. We had Laudrup, De Boer, Gazza, Butcher, Numan and all the rest. However, I think nowadays there isn't a better midfielder in the UK than Steve Davis. His sublime pass on Sunday which led to Roofe's goal was out of this world. We've also got talent like Barisic, Goldson, Tav, Jack, Kent, Kamara. They are exceptionally good players. Forget the past, live in the moment.

16.) 07 Dec 2020 15:30:31
Ok, which of our best starting 11 today would get into the best starting 11 of a 9iar team? And If you nominate one you have to say who they would replace?
For example McGregor would get in before Goram.
I don't see any of our current players getting into a 9iar team. However, when it comes to achievements, If we win the league I'm with geesadod on this one and I think it is right up there with winning 9iar considering everything we've been through!

17.) 07 Dec 2020 15:42:23
Comparison is impossible and not just because of money.

Modern players are fitter buy miles. Training, diet, sport science in general as well as coaching and detailed analysis means that it is difficult.

9iar at their peak v today's team at their peak - I wouldn't right of today's team.

Some of the 9iar team would never have been able to cope with modern training, diet etc.

18.) 07 Dec 2020 16:13:25
Spot on DK19. You just need to look at reruns of old games. Some of the players had beerbellies and turned slower than Titanic. The present team wpuld win hands down, however given the exact same fitness and coaching regimes the old team would win as their class would come through in the end.

19.) 07 Dec 2020 16:13:30
The celtic team were a poor team for most of our 9iar.

20.) 07 Dec 2020 16:25:38
Really, sweep1? Not the ones I saw against us, and I saw them all. Tommy Burns had some excellent teams, we were just better.

21.) 07 Dec 2020 16:49:08
The Celtic team under Tam Burns were a fantastic team, they just couldn't beat us! Let's be honest, there were times at Parkhead when they outplayed us, but we found a way of getting the result.

22.) 07 Dec 2020 16:52:31
Tommy burns' celtic team were a terrific team and lost the league because they couldn't get the better of rangers head to head/ andy goram 👌 So i agree with you tavsonloyal 👍I seen them all also mate.

23.) 07 Dec 2020 17:17:06
For about the 1st 7 years of the 9iar they were pathetic opposition. They never finished 2nd once until 8iar.

24.) 07 Dec 2020 17:53:08
Spot on DK had a very similar conversation the other day
Players now have to be athletes
Players back then could have a bevy and play the next day 😂😂.

25.) 07 Dec 2020 21:28:24
That's right, the stig, the team nowadays is fitter than a butcher's dog and would run all day. The players of old would be blowing out their arses. Not their fault, that's just how it was then. Players will probably not play now unless they are fully fit. Back in the 50's my dad played in the same Dundee team as the great Billy Steel. Steel made his feelings known, shall we say, when it was suggested for him. "No effin chance, eff off, you don't know what effin damage you could be doin" (or similar) At that time lots of players would take pain killing injections to get them through a game. I remember watching the club doctor injecting an injury on live tv. Hasn't happened for quite a while though.

13 Sep 2020 12:08:01
Listen boys and excuse my ignorance but did the team with butcher woods etc not go thousand odd minutes without conceding so how have we created a record noo.

ger1

1.) 13 Sep 2020 12:51:12
I can remember that when Hamilton scored to stop it. It must have been during the season and this record we now have is the best start to a season I would presume.

2.) 13 Sep 2020 13:03:33
The Light Blues became the first Scottish side to open a season with seven straight shut-outs

This is the record.

3.) 13 Sep 2020 13:51:59
Ger1 the record woods had was midway through a season.

4.) 13 Sep 2020 13:53:06
Ger 1 i'm pretty sure that the record you are talking about was in all games including the cup. I might be wrong though.

5.) 13 Sep 2020 13:55:38
Records mean nothing league trophy is all that matters this season.

6.) 13 Sep 2020 14:11:22
Fs, it’s the first 7 games of the season, not too difficult to read the paper mate, or just ask someone who actually follows football.

7.) 13 Sep 2020 14:11:45
Your right kja9 but breaking records like the one we just have will go a long way to do doing just that.
Winning the league 😉.

8.) 13 Sep 2020 14:35:37
If you don't concede then you can't lose. I'm thrilled we are solid at the back👍.

9.) 13 Sep 2020 14:55:11
Mr Grumpy it doesn’t go a long way to winning the title it’s 7 games in to a 38 game league season.
Our 1st real test is next Sunday and I hope for a few goals and another clean sheet.

10.) 13 Sep 2020 15:12:31
Where is the need in that reply Tom thumb? Annoys you that much just scroll past.

11.) 13 Sep 2020 15:41:07
The guy only asked a question tom👍.

12.) 13 Sep 2020 15:45:10
Actually KJA9, our first real test was away at pittodrie. 👍 our 2nd test was away to livi on that pitch👍 our 3rd test was beating hamilton on that pitch after dropping points on the same pitch at livi👍 Our 4th test is hibs next week. 👍.

13.) 13 Sep 2020 16:15:30
The guy asked a civil question who try and make out he doesn't read. Jeez. You are correct this record is regarding best start to season as far as clean sheets go.
7 game clean sheet record SO FAR at the start of season puts us in a good place. How many games must it be before we are allowed to talk about it KJA?

14.) 13 Sep 2020 16:16:47
Agreed Coldo. First test was Pittodrie.

15.) 13 Sep 2020 16:26:08
Very true and I apologise, but with a moniker of Ger1 and having to ask seems rather strange, anyway apologies mate,

kJ, it does matter very much, for a few reasons, goal difference and confidence, oh and 22 points.

16.) 13 Sep 2020 18:59:18
"If you don't concede you don't lose"? And yet the very same poster was going mental at drawing with Livi? 👍👀
And " 3rd test was Hamilton"? Where the very same poster was saying we should beat Hamilton easy - so how's that a test? 👍👀
Answers in an email to knickersinatwist@4-4-2.coldo👍👀😂😂😂.

17.) 13 Sep 2020 19:21:20
Coldo that’s only in your opinion FACT my opinion 1st real
Test is next week.

The sheep had no strikers.

18.) 13 Sep 2020 19:28:09
Doesn't mean we have to accept draws when we should be winning.

19.) 13 Sep 2020 19:45:27
Tom thumb apologies for getting you so upset but it was a genuine question I do follow football and obviously rangers in particular my forecast is we are least a couple short in midfield if we are going to challenge for the league only my opinion as tom thumb says I don't follow football.

20.) 13 Sep 2020 21:51:33
oldo your doing great let's keep it toge ther.

21.) 13 Sep 2020 22:20:29
Ger, your apology is accepted, don’t let it happen again

Bb, have you not got homework to do son.

22.) 14 Sep 2020 08:18:09
KJ, if records don’t mean much, why is everyone so hung up on 10 in an row?

19 May 2020 21:42:46
Is the season completely finished or are they hoping to squeeze in the Scottish cup semi and final to accommodate celtic.

ger1

1.) 19 May 2020 22:10:40
Ger1 we have a europa tie to play.

2.) 20 May 2020 08:01:02
John25, ye a lot of people are forgeting that, or maybe the other stuff happening is making some forgetful, i know halliday would maybe not have been involved in this game, but all must be sorted out, if we've released players already, mate.

3.) 20 May 2020 08:10:52
We can't play the europa game on an equal basis as we have released first team squad members so unless we are allowed to sign and register new players that can play in the return leg then this tie must also be null and void.

4.) 20 May 2020 10:38:41
Transfers and contracts were always going to be a sticky issue when C.V.iots closed everything down.
Unless you could keep the players registered to play out remaining games then it could create an unfair advantage/ disadvantage.
Anyway, that issue has been resolved by ending the league season as is (right or wrong) .
Personally, I still think the cup should be played to completion behind closed doors and they could theoretically apply the pre- quarantine rules (there are not a whole bunch of rounds to be played around the country)
For me, what's done is done and complaining will change nothing. it's time to move on and plan next Seasons campaign.
