Firstly I will say I am a big fan of Barton, Rossiter and Halliday.
However they do not work as a mid 3 against defensive teams.
Not only does it mean we lack penetration through the middle but when we go wide (which we do mostly) there is less options in the middle and no-one in the hole to lay up.
Basically we do not link up as well and when we get up the wings and turn inside we are passing further back to thos running on as there is no-one in the hole. this gives teams a chance to get behind the ball.
We need to replace one of the 3 with a Kranjcar/ Windass/ Forrester type.

Would love to see moh playing in the hole (no.10) position behind our main central striker, he has tremendous pace and can hurt teams from there, I think moh is wasted out wide right and we should utilise his pace behind our main striker, thoughts on this bears.

22 Aug 2016 13:54:10
we have a main striker?

22 Aug 2016 14:03:47
Can't say i agree Warbs15.
I don't think MOH has the close control or vision required to play in the hole.
Would never get a game there in front of Kranjcar, Windass or Forrester.
I know u are a fan of MOH but I struggle to find him a place in our team (I hope he proves me wrong) . He can only (for me) play out right or up front and will only do so successfully against teams playing higher up the pitch.
He had the ideall opportunity near end against M/ well but fluffed it disappointingly.

ohalloran looks like a guy low on confidence, I never rated him before he signed but he just looks link he can hurt teams every time he touches the ball, granted he hasn't done it but he has time to improve.

22 Aug 2016 14:58:14
Said before we signed MOH that he wasn't good enough or what we need. He has pace, but runs head down, has no vision, can't finish and can't cross the ball.

Love him to prove me wrong, something he has failed to do so far.

Personally would much rather see Joe dodoo get a good run in team to see what he can do.

Or- and this is a wild idea- play McKay on the right side of pitch so he can cross without cutting back all the time.

I'm also one who rates O'Halloran. It's about getting used to playing for Rangers and the pressure of it. Some adapt quickly, others need time to adjust to the mental side. Also I keep hearing Windass will be back in a couple of days every couple of days. If and when, that'll make a difference and he should start.

22 Aug 2016 15:56:08
I think moh has the potential to prove all the haters wrong but I do agree it will only be against the sides that try to play their own game and not just try and stop us playing ours!

that being said he would be in my starting 11 i'd play dodo out on the right as that is his natural position and garner is our main striker now I think waggy is good but will struggle against the better sides this year.

We have the players for a 4_2_3_1

Wes

Tav senderos Wilson Wallace

Barton rossiter

Waghorn krankcar dodoo

Garner.

James Stirling

The people on here questioning MOH ability aren't haters they just aren't convinced by him and don't think he is good enough. Using words like that are ridiculous.

22 Aug 2016 18:11:41
Can I just ask the guys who rate O Halloran what do they base that on?

22 Aug 2016 18:40:43
Biffo316, good question. He's got good ball control, good first touch, he's got the skill to go past players at speed. He tore our defence apart in the cup last season.

22 Aug 2016 18:54:21
Biffo316,I base it on the pace and directness of moh, if he got a decent run in the team I truly think a lot of bears who don't rate moh would change there minds, he's to stop start to prove his undoubted ability imo, for most of us who have played the game and understand the game of football pace is a big asset to have in the modern game, here's something else I think could work a treat and inject pace into our midfield, I'd give barrie mckay a free role behind our front 3 in a role similar to messi at barca, mckay cuts inside all the time anyway and imo would be superb more central with his pace and his superb ability to pass a football.

Kfraser

Ok I will widen out my question and say from what you have seen from him since signing for us what do you base this on?

Warbs15

A lot of players have pace but aren't that good Francis Jeffers had plenty of pace but was a disaster for us. You talk about being direct however I haven't seen much evidence of him changing games when he has come on or creating much. I only managed to play for a junior side so I probably didn't play at as high a level as you did.

22 Aug 2016 20:48:51
Nothing at all wrong with playing for a junior team mate, I played at county level and I was well chuffed about that.

22 Aug 2016 23:11:37
MOH has pace and has the close control to beat a player. However at the minute he has very poor vision and his crossing ability is severly lacking. If he could work on both of those aspects of his game then he would be a dangerous player for us.

22 Aug 2016 19:06:40
Personally I would like to see a 5-2-3 based on our current squad

Wes

Tav
Kiernan
Hill
Wilson
Wallace

Barton/ Holt/ Halliday
Rossiter

Winger
Striker
Forester.

Biffo, pace, drive and style. Watch MOH. He barely goes backwards with the ball. Very direct, which is what we need. Too many side and back passes for me.
