Celtic boss Neil Lennon is in talks with free agent Neil Danns about signing on a free from Crystal Palace ahead of rivals Rangers.
Midfielder Danns is discussing terms after Lennon stepped in for him. The star has also spoken with Rangers but has better money on offer from Celtic.

Ed, I was just wondering who you feel is to 'blame' for Hamed and Conway, 2 quite public targets, slipping through the net. I feel it's 1, 2 or all of the following...
Craig Whyte - penny pinching business man who's love for Rangers isn't quite as big as his love for a fat wallet
Ally McCoist - 'rookie' manager perhaps not saying the right things during talks with players and players being put off by inexperience (I appreciate ally will have others working with him and this may change now that Smith is in as Director of Football or whatever)
Or...
The media - talking up targets and letting our interest be known very publicly, alerting other clubs to the availablity of some players and roughly what wages are being quoted to acquire their services.
I personally think it's a mixture of the 3 but Goodwillie seems keen, Cuellar likewise (although i think it's unlikely), Bartley is a great player and hopefully we get him back, whether it be loan or buy! 3 massive targets that could shape our 4 in a row charge!

Heard a rumour that one of Bursaspor's directors has released a statement saying they have a deal agreed to sign Whittaker, Scott Brown, Edu and Scott Carson. Got told it was on their official website but when I tried to get on it wouldnt open so cant confirm.
Skybet have also made Celtic odds on to sign Jay Bothroyd.
Reckon we will go back to Dundee Utd about Goodwillie when is court case is settled.

I've just heard that Rangers have entered the race to sign Jay bothroyd. WATP jay bothroyd has just signed for celtic unfortunetly so wont be playing for the gers...will be announced on friday maybe sooner thats a defo tam {Ed021's Note - Can't see Bothroyd signing for either. I might be totally off with this suggestion but something tells me that McCoist is not so sure where to spend his money! If the suggestion by BBC is that rangers felt 2mill for Goodwillie was too rich for them then is this McCoist saying "I want him and for 1 mill" to the board Worried he cocks it up and let's face it money is tight? And once again the laundry is being washed in public! rangers need to stipulate that any enquiries must be kept confidential. Ed thoughts on my point regarding McCoist? {Ed021's Note - As quoted in the press before the takeover, Ally stated that he had 2 wish-lists (one if the takeover went ahead and the other if it didn't). I think McCoist is being prudent with regards to the money available. Goodwillie will more than likely happen but its that time of the season where clubs / players are in it for the best deal available. Fear not my friend as good times are here to stay.

Rangers offered Conway a deal and it appears he has knocked it back the same as Hemed knocked his offer back. Word from someone on the inside is that the new Rangers regime are prepared to quibble over what is literally pennies during talks which is sending these players elsewhere. Nacho novo is also in constant contact with Super Ally over the possibility of a return, this however will not happen. {Ed021's Note - No evidence that Conway was offered a deal. His agent is obviously looking for the best deal for his client which he is entitled to do and he talked to Watford and Leeds I believe before deciding for Cardiff.

Drenthe is a LB/LW not a centre half. He is unbelievably fast and I think would be a fantastic signing for us. However I think we may be priced out.

i know somebody that works for arsenal reserves and academy and rangers have asked arsenal about possibility of siging henri lansbury on season loan-loan he is int in wenger plans for this season and want to loan him out get more experince he is under england under 21 and has impressed rangers scouts at the under 21 tournement though norwich are also keen on him back and malky mackay would also like take him to cardiff after previously working with him at watford and kyle bartley will move back to rangers on loan with possibilty of signing permanentl and the end of the season

If we manage sign drenthe this would be a great signing for us i don't think it would happen but you can but hope. I think we need to stop looking at over paid over rated and over matured players from the epl we need young fresh faces with a point to prove as we already have good experience in the squad. If i was ally id look to spend the money on moves for cuellar and goodwillie possibly a perm move for bartley and if its true about obertan then how could we turn him down he would tear up the spl.
