David Tanner on Talks port this morning saying that David Marshall former Celtic keeper now at Wigan had said that Balogun knew he was coming to Rangers 3 games before the end of the Championship season. It just shows that transfers can be completed in a quiet orderly manner and the papers know nothing about them. If I am not mistaken the Balogun story broke just the day before he signed. It gives me hope that something is happening quietly in the background just now. Zungu is public knowledge but hopefully something else is being worked on that will excite the fans and help the team out.

Yeah Gerrard said that himself. The day he was announced / paraded he stated that Balogun had actually signed before the squad went out to France but it was agreed that he would play all of Wigan’s final games and nothing would be announced until after they were done. That means we kept it quite for around 10 days after he’d actually signed. Like most of our signings now, the (gutter) press don’t seem to have a clue about them until the day the player turns up at the club.
