So we weren't at our best last night with a team basically made up of 2nd choice squad players and yet some are moaning about the result. Somen people need to realise that after 3 week off and no competitive football

You say the team was made up with 2nd choice squad players IMO the team was made up with 7 first team senior players all 1st choice at some point - Katic, Davis, Jack, Arfield, Aribo, Dafoe and Jones. The only squad players were - Wes, Haliday, Paterson Edmunson and I would argue Wes and Edmunson are not squad players so I would say the real squad player was Haliday and Paterson being youth. i'm not point scoring here BTY just pointing out we had a very strong team out last night and shows how tricky it is coming back from the winter break regardless of the team we put out. Hopefully get past St Mirren and we should be getting back to our best come the 2nd, 3rd and 4th games getting that momentum back.

Defoe 2nd string. he only starts in morelos injured or suspended.

Paul, Yes Defoe only starts if Alf is suspended, to say second string is just a bit ridiculous. A squad player IMO is third choice behind the two players fighting for that position or perhaps a utility player. I would go as far to say some of our players in that 2nd position fighting for a jersey with the 1st pick are not Rangers class but Defoe does not fall into that category. eg Borna v Haliday no contest and the opposite Fred v Defoe a perfect foil.
