Alright bears,

There's been a lot of coverage on the weekends game and a lot negativity and criticism towards Rangers and Caixinha.

Particularly from folk like Graham Spiers, Tom English and Keith Jackson.
These guys are out to witchhunt Rangers for years to come - Walter didn't allow it because he commanded respect.

Don't fall into the trap of listening to their constant questioning and negativity.

I concede the football and style of play under Caixinha hasn't been pleasing on the eye but he's winning games and getting positive results (excluding old firm) .

Give the guy time to get his own players in this summer who can execute his style and methods of play.

We bemoaned the lack of directness under warburton with passes. So let's enjoy the rest of the season while we can and look forward to European football with new players next season.

10 May 2017 08:41:29
Do you not think a lot of the criticism is merited? Being hammered twice by Celtic without a whimper is totally unacceptable. The team were a complete shambles those 2 games with no shape, no direction and worst of all no fight. We weren't much better against Thistle and were extremely lucky to win. The constant picking of Waghorn is a total mystery too as he does nothing and is a complete waste of a jersey.

10 May 2017 10:02:54
Very true, but it's nothing new. just I just don't listen to radio Scotland now or buy newspapers. In the past I used to buy the sun and record on my way to work. it wasn't the slagging the team, but the constant coverage of the clubs troubles. it was the same stuff over and over. it just shows how boring and insignificant the rest of Scottish football are. Plus any organisation that gives mark daly a platform really is not going to get my backing. Just ignore them they mean nothing to us.

10 May 2017 11:29:05
why weren't Waghorn and Garner called in for extra training a 6am today? That's what I want to know.

10 May 2017 16:34:57
Maybe they already work their socks off in training, and are in fact, just single fish.

10 May 2017 17:26:36
And Windass

10 May 2017 18:25:15
By the looks of Waghorn in nog sure he trains at all. Just guzzles fish suppers all day long. Probably had one once he was hooked after 57 mins on Sunday

11 May 2017 01:35:40
Garner's problem is that he tries too hard because he genuinely wants to be a success at the club. Whether he will be is another story. Waghorn is just not good enough just the same as Halliday, Kiernan and a number of the others currently on our books. There are enough decent quality players to be squad players but what is lacking is probably six top notch players for the starting eleven.

Hopefully we will secure this level of quality from Pedro's list and they will all be totally committed to the cause!

09 May 2017 20:23:39
If only Zac Rudden wasn't at the euros under 17s I'd have him in the first team before half of the imposters that are in it.

09 May 2017 20:42:43
Is he any good and what style does he play

10 May 2017 02:26:47
He's back now scotland lost 2-1 against france. Only needed a draw to go through to last 8 they scored last 40 seconds. that's ruddens 4th of tournament

09 May 2017 19:20:04
Graham dorrans no go fact on 60k a week.

10 May 2017 07:59:32
Barton was going to be offered a premier league wage at Burnley but decided to join us? Also Dorrans is on 27k a week, where did you pull 60k from Albertz? was it a place the sun don't shine?

10 May 2017 08:40:59
Person who walks the dog.

10 May 2017 10:55:52
Aye remind me how the barton deal went?

10 May 2017 11:07:18
It went tits up thanks to Warburton being a shitebag - pardon my language. He went back down south and straight into the Burnley team. Which again made us look like fools.

11 May 2017 01:40:25
I reckon that it is pretty clear now where the problem lay with the Barton saga. Halliday has been a joke all season and Warburton proved that he was simply not big enough for our Club. Him and Weir were a couple of failures and sadly we will never know whether Barton would have been a success under a different manager.

09 May 2017 18:26:11
Dorrans naismith moult and Cummings -IN
Waghorn garner MOH and forrester - OUT

One more central midfielder in amongst those. And rossitter hopefully fit for next season.

signing a load of foreign players on the 'cheap' won't work up here. Look at le guen.

09 May 2017 19:37:22
Need a new back 4 aswell

09 May 2017 19:37:52
What about centre halves? Or are you happy with the current ones?

09 May 2017 23:04:55
There's more chance of seeing derek johnstone up front for rangers than rossitter playing a whole season. I would not include him in first 11 plams until proves can be fit. He will be modern day kuznetsov, rosenthal.

10 May 2017 05:13:34
I am hoping that we get the Argentinian midfield player and the Mexican Centre Half that has been talked about from Pedro's old Club along with Alves, Dorrans, Naismith and a top quality striker from Mexico, Argentina or Peru!

Whether we have the necessary funds of course is another story.

10 May 2017 06:12:07
It's an argentine CB and a mexican RB mate

10 May 2017 07:05:08
It's a big risk signing any player but South American players very rarely do well in Scotland

10 May 2017 09:18:01
Give things a chance boys eh?

09 May 2017 18:42:36
Pretty disappointed the boy gilmour is away but the thing that gets me more why not strike a deal with Chelsea with a couple of loans deals as part of the deal! Tammy Abraham, solanke, or maizga for example! one of two of that kind of signing would make a big difference to our team next year!

09 May 2017 19:09:45
Also, I hope we have put a sell on clause in the contract because not doing so is just bad business.

09 May 2017 20:14:50
Vanbasten9? Solanke? Celtic are baulking at his wage demands . He turned Chelseas new contract offer down . And Liverpool at looking at other options for the same reasons . Rumours are he want s between £35 to £45 grand a week mate

09 May 2017 21:19:24
Oh well if that's the kind of wages he's looking for there's no chance of Rangers getting him Delboy

09 May 2017 21:51:40
Solanke off to Celtic for 400k compo

09 May 2017 22:20:38
you can't put a sell on clause in.

09 May 2017 22:32:51
No way Celtic will pay 45 grand on wages on one player

09 May 2017 22:52:35
Aye Kaney then yous can sell him and Dembele for £1 billion each 😜

09 May 2017 23:06:01
It makes you wonder why no one involved at top level doesn't think of this kind of idea, Solanke is wanting far to much but Tammy Abraham would be a great addition even on loan but after the season he has just had at Bristol City I wouldn't be surprised to see his valuation and wages etc also rise considerably

10 May 2017 11:59:31
Abrahams wages will be about 25k a week. He's probably got loads of premier league clubs watching him as he's scored over 20 odd goals in their championship for a team fighting in the bottom half. Boys if you want to post names, try and keep it in the realms of reality! Even the rangers of 7-8 years ago would of been struggling to sign this boy!

09 May 2017 18:20:05
Would folk stop saying "he's better than what we have" about certain players coming in. It's nothing to do with better than what we have. They need to be better than what the OTHER mob have or at least the potential to be.

09 May 2017 19:33:31
Is pretty simple, we don't have the money for better than the other mob off the bat, and if we just buy potential, then Caixinha will get the chop next season because the team won't be competitive and the fans will be all over him. We need to be clever about our business next couple of windows and develop a solid, competitive team, then hopefully we can get ourselves in a better position legally/ financially etc to add better players down the line.

Underdogs can win the league as long as the team is competitive.

09 May 2017 20:48:00
If we buy all the 32 year olds that are being mentioned though they'll be done in two years and we'll be back to square one. So it doesn't matter if they're better than what we have. Bottom line is a scouting system needs to be put in place. Are you not concerned about Pedro only getting people he knows? Warburton did that and it was dreadful. The best clubs look for young potential with sell on value. Even look at what celtic have done with wanyama, van dijk etc.

09 May 2017 22:14:01
As long as they are good players I don't care where they come from. Yes we need a better scouting system but is that a realistic target for this window? That kind of thing, although seemingly obvious the way forward, takes time to implement.

Wanyama joined Celtic, £1m, Van Dijk £2.5m, these players still cost money and again comes down to luck if they are available at the right time for the right price.

If we have to build for this next 2 seasons to become competitive so be it, then we can continue to build from there. There are many steps ahead for the club to get to the level it wants to be.

09 May 2017 22:58:20
I don't think Pedro is targeting old players tho is he? That striker and right back from Mexico are both young and so is the Ghanaian defender so only Bruno alves but imo he would be a fantastic signing to sturdy it up at the back.

Other than them names mentioned we have had Naismith and dorrens not actually old and jack and McLean are still young so I don't see we're all the links to older players are? Like any team you need a good mix and balance and if he starts with defenders the Ghanaian 25 year old fast strong alongside alves older experienced no nonsense that to me is a great start.

09 May 2017 23:12:06
Stu is blu i agree. However are you overlooking the amount of dross they signed at same time that they thought would have sell on value. For every wanyama there was 5 or 6 duds. can't mind manager at time was it lennon but i recall from phone ins etc talk was he never signed a decent forward.

10 May 2017 11:43:33
Its dorrans mate lol

09 May 2017 17:26:59
Some people on here are keen to slate everyone we are linked to but hate everyone we have. I wonder if there is any pleasing them without going bust again.

I would think (for example) the below replacements would be preferrable?

Hill > Alves
Kiernan > Sumaila
Senderos > Berra.

09 May 2017 17:40:14
Don't want berra anywhere near us he's no better than wilson if you ask me

09 May 2017 17:48:04
Yeah but he is better than Senderos and Kiernan. Kinda my point.

09 May 2017 18:36:12
Would prefer the Argentinian Center half if I'm honest!

09 May 2017 19:15:33
Past 4 seasons Berra has played over 160 games in the championship for Ipswich, before that he played over 130 games mostly in the premier League with Wolves. Competing at those levels for that length of time will have made him a far better defender than anything we have now, and anyone else in the league barring Celtic. It would be silly to turn our nose up at Berra on a free transfer. And he is better than Wilson no question.

09 May 2017 19:39:05
Every time berra plays for Scotland he's been rubbish. Not good enough for Scotland certainly not good enough for rangers

09 May 2017 20:33:20
Well said just2see

09 May 2017 22:08:38
Not meaning to be arrogant here at all fellow bears, but anybody who's watched christophe berra playing for both wolves and ipswich, in the english championship, which is by far a much better standard than the scottish premiership, would know he's been tremendous down there! Really hope rangers do sign him! I honestly think our fans are negative for the sake of it without thinking or really knowing

11 May 2017 01:45:57
I don't think we can be too critical of players for being poor when they are playing for Scotland. We should be basing their quality on how they play for their current league team! If we based any prospective player on how they play for Strachan we wouldn't want any of them!

09 May 2017 16:57:52
All the best clint hill. If we're targeting not one but two centre backs then there might not be room for the big man in the squad. Won't forget his equaliser at the piggery.

09 May 2017 17:10:53
If you consider the likely departure of Senderos, Kiernan and Hill we may be looking at more than 2 Centre Backs!

09 May 2017 19:16:24
I am hoping for at least 3, and also get Wilson off the books if we can.

10 May 2017 12:09:57
I think he might just sign 2 centre backs and stick with Wilson and Bates, he seems fairly comfortable with them 2.

09 May 2017 16:23:10
Rangers won't get Tammy on loan he's valued at 6m with 4 championship teams chasing him .

09 May 2017 15:05:07
Billy Gilmour confirmed to be chasing the money. Hope he enjoys his loan spells.

09 May 2017 15:49:38
Good luck to the guy. He's obviously got great talent and is going to a great club. The right decision was made. We could do a lot worse than strike up a good relationship with Chelsea.

09 May 2017 15:59:02
I don't personally think it was the right decision. Chelsea are a great side, but I highly doubt he'll ever play for the 1st team.

09 May 2017 17:04:38
Good luck to the boy. Hopefully the money will be added to any funds available to Pedro and reinvested in the squad.

09 May 2017 18:46:55
Kfraser

Do you know how many Chelsea youth players have made it into the Chelsea first team recently?

09 May 2017 23:20:14
Last one i think was john terry which says it all really. Scottish football has no hope when youngsters chase the cash rather than playing games and developing Their careers. Look at ryan gauld how hashis career developed since he moved?

09 May 2017 14:48:50
Who actually thinks that david murray would be found fit and proper by the sfa to run rangers again? I certainly don't and I don't want him anywhere near rangers.

09 May 2017 15:00:06
The SFA think Dave King is fit and proper mate, so I have no doubt they'd find David Murray to be fit and proper.

09 May 2017 16:33:09
After the result of the EBTs appeal comes in I very much doubt it.

EBTs, the scheme he charged us half a million a year to implement and some fans would welcome him back.

09 May 2017 18:10:21
I think you'll find Mr Murray has his own financial issues.

09 May 2017 23:14:09
For a player who's only been with us 1 season and eyebrows were raised when we signed him, i'm kinda gutted Clint Hill is away . I'm sure i'm not the only one he has had eating humble pie this season, i'm convinced he would make a fantasticcoach, top guy top player, I just wish we had signed him a season or 2 sooner . All the best big man u will be fondly remembered at Rangers

09 May 2017 12:20:26
Christophe Berra? Can't only be me who thinks that that would be a good signing. Knows Scottish football, Scotland international and only 32.

09 May 2017 13:00:13
I wouldn't be particularly inspired by his signing but I wouldn't be too upset. Solid enough

09 May 2017 13:02:50
Only 32? A spring chicken compared to Hill. A Scotland international is hardly a ringing endorsement these days. We've got to be thinking along better lines than this.

09 May 2017 14:24:00
I think he'd be better than what we have at the moment

09 May 2017 14:42:27
Souness I think you would be better than we had at the moment

09 May 2017 14:45:53
Berry is a desperate signing and proves we ain't got any money. Davie king beat it. As for david murray are you for real? The guy sold us for a pound to someone he knew was going put us into administration.

09 May 2017 19:20:05
Signing players is not about proving you having money, its about creating a team, and Berra would be a good addition to our squad for next season on a free, which is sensible, considering we actually don't have much money and our financial situation is tender to say the least.

09 May 2017 11:03:02
I was working in Birmingham last year and went to the Birmingham v Ipswich game, Berra was the best player on the pitch by far, he is miles better than what we have at the moment which i agree doesn't say much but i do think he would do a solid job for us.
Hope to God the rumours about the retail deal being ripped up are true, i think we would then see who else out there would be interested in investing!
