Since you don't have a home match until March 2nd, Charlie will have to be very economical with the release of good news to keep the company profile high. Expect the new strip/shirt sponser/Murray Park and stadium renaming rights to be dripfed to the masses over this period. I don't foresee him taking on Celtic's European puff and may decide topass on Valentines Day, so I would expect some (factual) announcements when he meets the Bears in The Louden on the 22nd.

What a difference a good Manager makes. Neil Lennon today went from a 3-5-2 to a 4-4-2 and finished with a 4-3-3. Compare that with McCoist's "one size fits all " 4-5-1

Is neil really that good?

john

Agree36 Disagree17

He spends more time discussing finances lately, he can't pick a team or read a game but he can tell us to buy shares, its disgraceful the way he has caved in, I can't wait to see the back of him now.

Agree30 Disagree5

Nope neil and ally both pish!

Both running teams with 10x fans and stadium size of rivals, both in leagues where they only team that can win.

Both loose in early rounds of cups.

go figure - good ex-players don't make good managers if their first team to manage is old firm!!

zammo

Agree14 Disagree34

Yes, For he was invited to a dinner with all the top managers and legends in the game because of what he has done, not to mention beating the best and holding his own amongst the best in Europe. Ppl need to put aside/stop the hate and look at the football aspect and just how smart he is.

Agree28 Disagree15

@3 lennon hasn't lost in the early rounds of cups (semi final loss and still in the other 2), he put out a team much younger than any the rangers has this season with basically the reserveteam, lost an early goal away to the second place team then adapted his formation to win, lennon is still a young manager and by no means the finnished article but is learning from mistakes and improving all the time where as ally seems to be stuck in his ways with no intention of changing.

Agree29 Disagree12

Sorry but a semi final is not early round third rounds are qualifiers for Europe are so think it's just ally pal

Agree21 Disagree5

Zammo you sound like a good ol yankee with yer go figure.
Last 16 in Champions League. is that not an achievement?
Speak for Ally McMoist if you like but please don't speak for Neil "We are all Neil" Lennon!

Agree25 Disagree9

@3 well said, but the agree and disagree show you getting bears and non-bears on a split decision.

Agree1 Disagree6

@8) & 3) You both just come off as seriously bitter. And not even using facts to back up your argument. First season as official manager Lennon lost in final to Rangers and won the other cup by defeating Motherwell. Second season beat in a Final and semi- final. This season a semi-finals where are you getting early round exits from. He has lowered the wage budget, the club have recouped almost as much as they have spent in the transfer market. Most of they're signings are looking like they are going to generate fortunes in profit for the club and all the while Celtic are the SPL champions, in the last 16 of the Champions League having qualified from a group that everyone suggested they had no chance of getting out of and they are currently about a dozen points clear at the top of the SPL. How can you have the audacity to lump him in with Ally McCoist? Your either a pair of children or like I suggested just very bitter.

Take the blue tinted glasses off and just be honest about it.

Agree22 Disagree9

@6. When your a proper old firm team going for proper old firm achievements a semi is woeful. If your pleased with a league cup semi. exit as a tic fan then standards have slipped immensely. You lot seem easily pleased these days

Agree13 Disagree18

@10: Slightly ironic statement coming from fans who celebrate attendance figures.

Agree19 Disagree4

Nah mate. We are not saying Lennon is the new Jock Stein or Alex Ferguson we are just recognising he is doing a "good" job. Not an unbelievably good job, or a faultless job. We are not saying he is Mourinho. What I'm saying is lumping him in with the clown in the dugout of your own team is a joke. Lennon himself recognises our cup defeats to Killie last year in the final, Hearts semi and St. Mirren are not good enough. Last year he openly said his performance in Europe with Celtic when being put out after a skelping by Utrecht wasn't good enough and he held himself accountable and promised to rectify it. Well our performances this year have done that and some. Expect the Scottish cup this year and a treble next year If he stays true to form. Oh and by the way on what planet is last 16 of the Champions League a sign of slipping standards? Lol

Your bitter, and it's well and truly clouded your judgement.

Agree12 Disagree7

@10 Easily pleased. yes, being in last 16 of cl and in 3 comps, top spl beating 2nd place with our youth players (younger then your club) and making what 35mill so far this season, not counting the transfer money to come does make it easy to be pleased. Not to mention the talent and the show on the pitch. Compare that to how easily pleased you are with cg lies and the way your club is, then you can see the big difference in the meaning of easily pleased.

Agree9 Disagree3

@5 is that not 3 was meaning? Does it not worry you for the sake of the league that you can win at the 2nd place team with a young reserve team, means there is no competition surely? Lenny will never be looked at as a good manager by anyone outside Celtic because he's been up against no competition

Agree3 Disagree7

@9 et al, no saying cl league last 16 is not a significant achievement, but that's the exception nit the rule,

both ally and lennon, have pish cup stats, I feel lennon if gets to semi or final should be able to at least score.

fergie says player managers need looong aprentices and not to take on main team first.

ally mcoist is the worst rangers manager in history. fact,
lennon is a lucky manager, let's face it. he was minutes away from the boot last season when 3-0 to kilmarnock but thanks to them scraping a draw and rangers caving in he got out of jail and won the league,
as for the champions league. don't kid yourself either,
the russian mob you beat were rank rotten, benfica totally outplayed you home and away and as for barcelona? " anti-football " is the mother of all understatements, luck can only take a team so far before your found out and i'm looking forward to juventus dishing out a right good thrashing and showing this team and their manager just how average they really are.

Agree11 Disagree13

Lennon has not the same budget as the likes of barca. spartak moscow who spent big on mcgeady. benfica they have a respectable budget how did we compete with them lennon got his tatics spot on against them

ally has a free pass to d2 surley he should have his tatics up to scratch by now we are in feb he had the same squad at the start of the season he does not and never has had a plan be 4 5 1 or nothing no plan b.

i listend to gordon strachan talkin tatics before and after the scotland game I think ally should listen closley to the man he knows what he is on about
i think lennon has learned a lot from him in that department

Peter cardiff

Agree12 Disagree3

@17 you always get 1 lucky team that reaches the CL last 16, a team from Cyprus got to the last 8 last year, were are they this year? This is a 1 off Celtic getting to last 16 under Lenny, it will be back to blaming the referees next season again.

Agree11 Disagree15

@16) Mate all you done there was managed to come off even more bitter than the delusional bitter merchants @3), 10), 14), and 15)

Agree6 Disagree3

@16. it must hurt, we know that. that was a shrill post even by the standards on here. 10 matches played in cl. 7 won 1 draw 2 lost. not a manager in the world who wouldn't be happy with that, especially in his first season. fergie took years to get to that. the anti-football tag you use was made up by the worlds greatest player to describe. answers on a postcard to W. Smith ibrox.
roll on tuesday.
