Gers v Hibs in the Challenge Cup. Delighted the match is at Ibrox. It's a tough first round match. May the best team win. Anyway, who cares if you lose, 'cos it's only the Donald Duck cup!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Aye and macoist is pluto

Agree0 Disagree0

Ide like rangers to win every compitition the enter and its one we will need to win cause it might be the last chance we get of winning it if we get promoted

Agree0 Disagree0

If we lose what excuse are we going to give ally,

And a question to all the head insand mob.

What will your opinion be if ally does not gain promotion, bear in mind 2nd biggest wage bill, 2nd best striker partnership. ( I say 2nd best as both miller and Boyd are in process of winding down, career wise. )

Ed how long has ally left on his contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Ally has a rolling contract)

Then he will need to go, think everyone knows that, including super.

Question for all the real loyal mob if ally does win promotion will you join us in the sand? Doubt it

Agree0 Disagree0

Op why did you say [who cares if YOU win ] curious

Agree0 Disagree0

Should have said who cares if YOU lose main work being YOUS

Can anyone explain to me the fascination about Kyle McAusland and our RB position? He is actually a CB by trade and from what I have seen he has done nothing to impress me, just because everyone what's to blood younger players, they do have to be good McLeod, McKay, Crawford, Gassparotto, Gallagher will all get their chance if they're good enough, 1st of all we have to get back where we belong and then worry about the younger talent

What's your take on it ED

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - I have already said I dont see the fascination with McAusland, he has done OK but the reply I get if that Foster is rotten, its just a case of making the best of a bad situation)

Foster isn't as good as he thinks he is lol but in all honesty if we did want to get a young RB he has to be an out an. out RB and not CB come RB like Faure and McAuasland a would rather have Smith at RB than any of the above

Agree0 Disagree0

Foster is about as much good as a chocolate fire gaurd

Agree0 Disagree0

Out of the box thinking, but why not sign a RIGHT BACK?

Agree0 Disagree0

Doiger that's to sensable a sulution

New home top 7th august

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish. The official Rangers store's twitter account has said the home will be released early August, with the away being released in early September.

interesting that dundee utd ( we don't need rangers ) seem quite happy to sell their young talent off to anybody that's interested. surely if you have no "money issues" ( were operating in the black) you should be building a squad to challange for the league, then in turn when the times right sell players on for a bigger profit, which I think, if the deal goes through, sporting lisbon will do with gauld!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - even more interesting that they rejected bigger offers from England last summer, odd that suddenly they are accepting less now.}

02 Jul 2014 12:52:24
Were probably offered more cash up front than other club offered. I imagine they put a large sell-on fee clause in the contract. It's just good business sense, with that money they can secure players like macay-Stevens on long term contracts guaranteing more transfer fees aswell as signing more youth prospects. Something rangers should have started doing 2 years ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

Were any offers actually made for him last year? I know there were lots of scouts up looking but did anything turn into a firm offer?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - there was a big from an English club of 5m+ which was rejected. There was an enquiry made by Hull last January, who were told that it would take in excess of 6m to even make them look at the offer.}

02 Jul 2014 17:14:47
ST Eddy agree with you don't think there were ever any offers made for the young lad. TALKSPORT in November 13 stated Nicknamed the ‘Mini Messi’ by Dundee United supporters, no less than four Premier League clubs are said to be tracking Gauld. Specifically, those sides are Newcastle, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester United, showing just how highly-rated the youngster is. Scouts from all four of teams watched him pull Partick Thistle apart in a 4-1 victory for United last weekend. Various sources claim he is valued at around £6m.
So don't think it was actually Utd who were stating this worth.
ED where you getting your info? if its DR then I know it will be wrong then.
They seem to be doing good business for a lad who only played around 34 games in all comps last year and less year before.?
What are we getting for our young lads? o ye we seem to be giving them frees.
Boyblue: time to get of the hate UTD fence its in the past and last check they don't have debt and if this fee etc taken into account they laughing all way to bank. unlike us. pity Murray Park not doing its job.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I don't even know what DR is, I got it from someone who works at Hull and someone who works for Spurs, who were interested last summer. Well AVB wanted him last summer, but they seemed to have a deliberately policy of buying players AVB asked them not to buy at that point! As for that piece of crap radio station, I don't listen to anything said on there, most of it is just lies made up to get people phoning their premium rate numbers.}

Much has Murray park made rangers ally?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, not on the " hate utd fence", just thought it was interesting that they were willing to lose young talent, when they could at 18, nurture him and sell at a later date as will sporting lisbon, as we can see they have already put in a clause on his contract right away!

ps - it also depends what your definition of "debt" is in business, that determines if you are operating in the black or not!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I've seen Gauld a few times and he is no where near as good as the press makes out. (still decent though). The actual fee is "undisclosed". There was a simiar carry on when Adam King left Hearts in January. Press were suggesting fees of over £1m for a player who had never been in the first team. Actual fee "undisclosed. "

Were any of these bids anything other than paper talk.

In saying that the boy is decent and might do better in a less physical league where his lack of dig might not be such a big issue. (is the portugease league less physical?)

I wish him well and hope he proves me wrong. Scotland could do with a Messi. Well done UTD its money in the bank.

Agree0 Disagree0

Buyblue the clause was a 48 million pound clause according to tv yesterday funny money eh

As I believe that McCoist is the wrong man for us I will continue not to go to Ibrox until he is gone as manager. I will still support my team from a distance but will not have the pleasure of watching the Glasgow Rangers.
Green, in my opinion, created a monster to suit his selfish desires, but the monster took the 'Judas silver' to line his pockets.
Good luck to my fellow fans who have faith in him, but mark my words, he is useless and will let us down. His ego will be his end and hopefully he disappears before he ruins our team. This will be my last comment on him and will watch progress from a distance. All the best to the Glasgow Rangers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The season hasn't started, yet we have another 'Sack Ally Brigade' member voicing off as per usual. Give it a break. If Ally can't win the Championship then and only then would I agree with you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Geo as I said no further comment re the manager. Good luck watching the brand of football on show and I hope we win the league but I stand by everything I have said.

Agree0 Disagree0

As an ardent fanatic of The Famous Glasgow Rangers, I go and watch them no matter how they are playing, or how well they are doing.

Go and ask a Morton fan or an Alloa fan what it means to support your team.

I would watch The Famous Glasgow Rangers play on the green if that is what it came to.

Being a True Blue Fan means that you are there through thick and thin.

Fair weather fans have the option to choose when they go - simples!

Agree0 Disagree0

3. Being an out and out blue nose for more years than I wish to remember, I don't need the likes of you telling me when I should go and watch my team. In fact people like you would not know what a loyal fan is. Blind support is not being loyal, it is being a total prat.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get behind the team and manager, let's see what they do this season, in a better league than the last 2, honestly think, we will win the league and people will be surprised bye the way we do it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Quite right billy b I watched through every manager starting wi john greig and none of these managers whom all had faults but they never put there ego or greed before the club and that is one of the reasons I won't go back as long as he is manager

Agree0 Disagree0

We will be getting bosmen signings every year until these greedy feckers are removed the same greedy feckers that can't work out where the missing 7 million pound went ime like billyb I don't like being taken for a person and won't be back till they are gone

@1 Being a Super Ally fan as you are, would it concern you that the Cup for "Donald Duck" teams, (your description- definitely not mine) of which we have been one for the last two years and will be one for at least one more year, remains outwith our grasp for our potentially final year in the wilderness? So a competition not open to the theoretically strongest 12 teams in Scotland was not one of the Ger's triumphs in the 3 years open to us- would that not be a concern?
Now if it is not a concern why post about it a few posts on from here?
You see to me there is no logic in blowing your trumpet about going undefeated in the third poorest league in Scotland if you cannot win a cup competition only available to teams in the three poorest leagues in Scotland.
I hope you are correct all you Super Ally men and the elderly super expensive almost un-affordable team come good this year and entertain the loyal supporters.

But I cannot help thinking that football historians may not be too kind on the Ally years if he fails to win the "Donald Duck Cup" as you call it.

You see one mans unquestioning loyalty and support is another man's irrational delusional ignorance and denial of a weekly 90 minute trial with only 1 sane verdict of guilty mi- laud.

In 50 years of supporting the club this is the worst mince I have ever witnessed from a Gers team. John Greig was a poor manager but we never for one minute doubted his honesty or integrity. History may not judge your Super Ally so kindly.

@3 just for your education son we are The Rangers not the Glasgow Rangers as you state. We were formed 142 years ago by 4 West Coast Highlanders and are The Rangers. All subsequent Rangers need further defining we don't we are the original Rangers Football Club.
Now that is primary 1 day 1 lesson 1 if you don't know that you know feck all

Agree0 Disagree0

Nbear @9] We differ on this one and I know the history as well as you do. To me our team will always be 'The Famous Glasgow Rangers'.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a wee add on, Nbear, the Texas Rangers were formed in 1823. Sorry but lesson one is not correct.

billyb when you look up at our name on the red brick frontage of Ibrox where the marble staircase is does it say Glasgow Rangers FC or does it just say RANGERS FC.
Let me answer that for you it says RANGERS FC.

Did all the accounts and legal documents refer to Glasgow Rangers or just Rangers FC.

Lesson one is correct historically and legally.

You may call the team Glasgow Rangers or whatever else you want but the actual club name is Rangers FC.

Not important to most people but important for some of us from North Argyll and Lochaber where the 4 founders came from.

You see Rangers were formed by the pioneers originally for Highlanders living in Glasgow.

Lesson 1 now complete
