Davie t, i know what your saying about Gattuso but he would still do us a job for a season or 2, especially if we got him for nothing on a realistic wage, and lets face it, we don't have anyone with that bit of bite which has been sadly lacking in the last 2 OF games where we have been bullied in midfield. As for Foster, i think hes done well although nothing more than a squad player. Would be good to get Weiss on a permanent deal, think he could develop into a really good player, although i think he might just be out of our price range. Diouf has done well too but not sure if we could afford him long term. Pretty sure Blackburn will be looking for a fee and he will be on big money down there too. Not overly confident about tomorrow but was very confident going into the New Year game and look what happened so just shows how unpredictable these games are. Oh, and for the guy who was asking for fans who go to games, ill be there as i have for every OF in the last 10 years.

If the takeover is completed these are some people I think we should target in summer:
krancjar (maybe not with his current form)
diouf (permanent)
shane long
nicky Maynard
roque Santa Cruz
Shaun wright Phillips
gattuso
weiss (permanent)
Christian benitez
Jose Enrique
Johan elmander

Even if the takeover goes though we will not be shopping for players with these wages or price tags unless teams and players do us a turn. This is more of a wish list and i would be overjoyed if most of these players end up a ibrox but it won't be happening.

Newcastle have told ac milan they want £12m for jose enrique and i am not even going into his wages. this is just one of your wish list.

untrue Jose Enrique is on a free in the summer and has told newcastle he will only sign on if the stay up. so you must have dreamt this or was this on football manger? ?? / /

{Editor's Note: His contract runs through the summer of 2012.}

As I posted LONG ago, the Gattuso "swoop" is true. Nothing to do with nutting Jaws, and no transfer fee. He now OWNS a house here and will be doing his badges while playing for us next season. This has been his and Monicas plan for a while

Would be nice to get these but even with the takeover I think we will struggle to get these players. In all likeliness Rangers would spend big in the Summer to rebuild the squad, firstly we need to get; Whittaker, Bougherra, Davis, Edu, Papac and McGregor on new contracts. Then build a squad, I think some realistic targets are;
Diouf
Weiss
Healy
Goodwillie (If he is cleared)
Gattuso
New CBs,
Maybe another loan deal with Bartley.
Benaloune?
Jonny Evans?
Personally I still wouldn't object to sell McGregor because we could get £9 million or so for him. Alexander is a good keeper and then use that money to sign even better players.

Re: Gattuso

In all honesty, woudl we really WANT him back?

I mean, he was international class in his prime. BUt now?

"Tenacious" he may still be, but I firmly believe he is past his best. By a long margin.

But that's only my opinion, and I appreciate the same criticism is levelled at David Weir

Daviet

PS anyone else desperately hoping we can tie Papac down to a new contract? And what's fellow Bears' thoughts on Ricky Foster? I reckon we should get him while we can. Seems to be decent enough, but needs to work on his passing a bit. .

I agree with Daviet, the article in the sun should not be taken as 'fact'. There are no named sources as to how the journalist knows his information and it reads like its written by a hopefull teenage fan. We will not receive any concrete information regarding the takeover until it is either completed or falls through.

"Just a wee story from today's sun about the takeover"

Jeezo. What an inpet journalist. THIS is a prime example of lazy journalism. It seems to be based on what everyone knows already.

This is one of the reasons I never buy or read News International material- they provide lazy articles written by shock- jocks, in the main.

In this article, where is the story? Where is the journalism?

Lazy. Boring. Fills column inches. NOTHING else.

Gattuso to seek a move. Apparently (FACT alert), he is looking a for club that doesn't ask too many questions and turns a blind eye to myriad indiscretions. Hmmm. . .

Atheist

rino wouldn't play for sceptic so that's that one buggerd.

looks like he will be back at the home of the champions hopefully

Just a wee story from today's sun about the takeover:

EXCLUSIVE
Whyte on brink of takeover

CRAIG WHYTE'S £33million takeover of Rangers is this morning on the brink of completion - and it does NOT hinge on the outcome of the Ibrox tax case.
Sunsport can reveal that the HMRC probe into Gers' finances will not affect the plans of the multi-millionaire venture capitalist and his deal partner Andrew Ellis.
Ibrox insiders remain confident they will emerge from the investigation into offshore payments to stars without a penalty to pay.
This week behind-the-scenes talks have taken Gers fan Whyte close to completing the complex deal that'll end Sir David Murray's 23-year reign.
Next week Gers' financial figures are expected to show that the club's debt level has fallen to below the £25m mark.
Now the Whyte deal WILL be completed before the end of the season and it will mean this:
The sale of the club will go through with Whyte aided by Ellis paying around £33m for Murray's 92 per cent share.
Rangers will be guaranteed a total of £25m worth of investment in the playing budget over the next five years - in effect £5m per season before any money brought in by Euro success and other avenues.
Ally McCoist, Kenny McDowall and Ian Durrant being given the chance to take control of the first team when Smith bids an emotional farewell in May.
Gers have come through some of the very darkest financial days of their history and survived after Murray appointed turn-around specialist Donald Muir and Mike McGill to the board.
It's understood Muir and McGill - one of steel tycoon Murray's most trusted voices within his own empire - helped win a crucial vote to stave off a board bid to take the club's debt to £50m.
With that manoeuvre quashed, Lloyds were then persuaded to keep the club's annual player wage bill at the £16m level and not engage in a policy of slashing it to £10m-a-year that would have in effect have handed domestic domination to Celtic.
Now it is hoped that Rangers will emerge from the mire as a club that operates within its means.
The reality is Gers will still sell the club's best players to England.
Lifelong Gers fan Muir, brought in by Murray to help rescue his entire empire, has been painted as the enemy within by sections of the support.
Now the ship is steadied and the Whyte deal is imminent.

Good news
