We all know by now that clubs in the lower leagues are only allowed 22 players aged 21 and over in their squad and that (by my reckoning)Rangers have one slot to fill but with the two loanees still to return. This would mean that one "experienced player must leave, plus one for every new signing over 21 years old. Bearing in mind the registration embargo and how it will affect restrict the use of any new signing, what would be the squad that fans would like in place for the strart of the season.

Just out of intrest. are players signed on a pre-contract, still eligible to play as triallists, for the rangers, or any other club in the sfl, for that matter? DD

First pick for next season. Bell, Darren Cole, Cathcart, mculloch, Wallace, temps, McLeod, law, McKay, daly, little.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought McGregor, Davis, lafferty etc were all in rangers 22 players last year because green said they were still on rangers books.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well by your reckoning your wrong lol.
Mcgregor, whittaker, lafferty, davis, sandaza and kyle were part of the 22. Not to mention the likely departure of alexander. that's 7 spaces.

Agree0 Disagree0

TH, the current squad should easily be good enough to win the 2nd division. all that is needed is a better manager and coaches that know what they are doing!

Agree0 Disagree0

N1 as far as we are told anybody rangers are looking to sign can play as trialist I posted cause I noticed your post ain't been answered youve waited a while for an answer eh tmwnn

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting team no2. looking at it. cole at rb, no he will prob be injured again but I would put mitchell in there, cathcart has signed on at blackpool so not happening, mckay won't be fit for start of season so some tweeking to be done there me thinks. BT

You're wrong @4. They came off the books when they registered for other teams. can't be regisyeted for two teams at same time. More blind optimism.

Agree0 Disagree0

@8 they might have come off the books but no one replaced them in the 22 so we have plenty of spaces for new players.

Eds just wondering if u have heard anything about any pre season games either at ibrox or south if border especially as last season we couldn't play any and I think it is important to get good pre season games under our belt {The Ed039's Note - been talk of a testimonial for Newcastle keeper harper)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Steve Harper testimonial with rangers has been put back a season. Read this last week

If you want a good laugh go to Jambos Kickback, they are all talking about The Sun allegations. Its all "kick us when we`re down, naming the 4 clubs, boycotts, nobody likes us etc. " They were one of the first to stick the boot intae us, now its happening to them and they dinnae like it. I`m off for mair laughs

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As they say, what comes around, go`s around!

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to be honest mate, I wouldn't wish what has happened to us on any ordinary punter. The Jambos have been shafted by the moneymen just like we have.
I also don't think we are in any position to gloat given our current cloak and dagger situation.
Better off sticking to sorting our own issues than being sidetracked chuckling at the misfortune of others.
New Rangers, new attitude and new friends in football. Us supporters need to look at the bigger picture.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baybear you are quite right, however a bit of lite relief does no harm now and again.
Having read many posts on here stating we need to sort ourselves out and get rid of the sugar daddy attitude, I find that as each day passes I agree more and more with those writing them.
So solution time:- we should all buy shares, as many as we can afford depending on our budget, then we should give our vote by proxy to the RST, that is you still own the shares but they amass them and vote on our behalf!
This is something I posted some time ago suggesting that supporters buses get involved by doing their usual whip around every game and turning the cash raised into shares.
The RST would become fully representative of the whole fan base.
The idea is being banded about on some blogs and I believe we should embrace it.
Then we can moan as share holders and make a real contribution to our club- as one voice can be lost many voices will be heard, especially if they own shares!
So time for some action or do we just keep going round in circles when we have the power to change our future? Eastbear

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Said Bayear!

Bluegenius!

Agree0 Disagree0

@2. I am with you. What good is it to the future of Scottish football if we want fans of other teams to go through what we have. Its time to grow up and show that we are the best fans. Our intial year by the fans standard has brought world wide reviews, let's build on it.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 Fair enough Eastbear. I like a bit of banter like the rest as long as it's free of venom.
As for your shares idea, very interesting and a lot better than simply bumping our gums on here.
What's your take on using ST money to buy shares and then paying on the gate? Agree we need to use what power we have to retain some control of our destiny.

Agree0 Disagree0

@5- totally mate, our loyalty in adversity has been both incredible and inspiring. let's not let ourselves down now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Only if the RST office bearers can be voted in and out democratically by those offering the share proxy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with Bayear's post and Bluegenuis's endorsement of it.

As a football fan, I believe it's a two way street, we support our respective clubs but they should also be supporting us, in terms of information and recognition for the job we do as fans.

Now's not the time for fans to be turning on fans, let's support each other. It doesn't have to affect our rivalry between each other. I'll happilly scream and shout and hope we hammer you when we're playing you, but I'll do anything that I can do to make sure you're still there so that I can scream and shout when we play you (and go for a pint with some of you afterwards).

I like the new attitude that's beginning to prevail on these boards, and I sincerely hope that you and your club are back in the SPL as soon as possible.

There's people following all our teams, it's our job to make sure they're not the loudest voice!

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't question the loyalty shown, but have not one ounce of credibility, Wheres the cash too pay john daly, ian black, lee Wallace, mculloch etc on big salaries, along with mcoists 1million or so a year& his 350 grand for winning the 3rd div. totally absurd. & all this whilst there's chaos behind the scenes, losing 1 million a month, internal investigations, title deeds, whyye greene, time the TRUTH was outed, as the loyal fans are again about to be screwed over by the charlatan Fagan types. sm

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Baybear that idea of using ST money has some merit.
Firstly it would allow an immediate cash injection into share purchases that would go along way to taking control of our club back.
Secondly it would be affordable to most as they would have spent the money on ST anyway, paying at gate would keep the club going while we got organised!
Oh for a leader to organise such a move! Eastbear
PS The RST would need people like you Baybear to help this along!

Agree0 Disagree0

The last thing this board want is a united support that are straight forward, transparent and looking to rid the club of dark the ages mentality, they certainly don't want the club to run on an even keel! Their only intention is to direct clean money into their pockets, and ladle the club with debt so that WE are paralyzed, divided, and inept of a secure viable long term vision. They don't kill the Goose that lays the golden egg, they just milk it dry!

Their master stroke was to buy our assets for a measly 5mill, meaning they have nothing to loose. Are the pledges in the share issue just a guarantee to cover a credit facility running the club into huge debt like sdm did? Knowing that the assets are worth so much more they could pull the plug at will, and still be quids in. They don't give a sh#t about the club.

Love this idea about pay per game and keeping the st money ready to buy up shares? Somebody mentioned a couple of weeks ago that withdrawing st money would cause the share price to plummet, interesting!

Its all a bit heady stuff to me, but I think we are really being stitched up, the silence is deafening. We really have to ask ourselves what kind of Rangers do we have, and what kind of Rangers do we want. It's a no brainer for me.

Aye Ready

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry OP, got carried away there, my reply summed up how I feel about a lot of clubs at the moment, not just Rangers. So many clubs are in a mess right now due to the Rattle snakes suits, they are killing our game and the supporters are paying the price for their loyalty, it's all wrong. The governing bodies need to enforce more protection for the supporters instead of just lining their own pockets.

Aye Ready

Aye Ready- Very well put mate, wholeheartedly agree

Can anybody tell me why Rangers employed James Traynor? What salary is he on? What does he actually do?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I did hear the rumour that he tried running back to the tv but they weren't interested.

Looks like Jabba knows he might be next out the door at Ibrox. Fingers crossed.

Agree0 Disagree0

No idea, far too much and nothing at all as far as I can see.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a media director who does not speak to the media! I would think he would be earning around 100-150k per year including perks and benefits.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a black arts type, hidden agenda, manipulator, spin doctor. Any club inviting one of them in is always creating a rod for their own back. They go to their media hack pals to leak their agenda rather than the clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice job if you can get it, Chuckie was just looking after all his friends, giving them bumper salaries because he knew you would just keep throwing your hard earned at the big black hole and not asking any questions!

Agree0 Disagree0

He sent his articles covered with a toadying email to Craig Whyte for editing and approval prior to publication the next day with Whytes editorials actioned.

Rumour this was a continuation of the service he provided for SDM. It's no surprise to any he joined Green on his Board. He has supported every Rangers tyrant.

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy who printed rangers are dead, & no lipstick can dress over it, a total new fball club!!. s m

so rangers running up debts on a monthly basis which they can't afford, will go bust by summer time, share issue didn't bring in as much as they claim? has any of these rumours been proved to be true, no increase in season tckt prices, surely if this is all true, the 1st thing to do is increase season tckt prices to help cut debts, all thses rumours proving to be a myth, as someone once said, don't believe the hype!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The SB prices staying the same don't prove a thing either way.

We know what the running costs are, those salaries are in public domain.

We know how much Ranger's made fom the IPO, also public knowledge.

We also know how much gate money they have taken in, also public knowledge.

It's up the board to prove to US that we're not skint, not the other way around.

But head inthe sand if you want to throw your money away. I'm sure Chuckles needs a new swimming pool or something.

Agree0 Disagree0

The price freeze might be down to one thing. A cash injection is needed right now. it does not alter the fact that questions need to be asked. No income till the season starts remember.

Agree0 Disagree0

People are already threatening not to renew STs. The board know this and know that raising prices probably would have made a lot of peoples' minds up for them. I'm sure most fans will renew once the board answers all the fan questions and there is a greater level of transparency about the current state of affairs.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3. Exactly my stance, transparency and simple questions answered will do for me. I'd even pay more for my ST if I get this as I love my club.
Somehow, this stance makes me not a true Rangers supporter to some. Head in the sand right enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know the prices for next season have been published but have the renewals actually gone out?

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 Not as far as I can tell. Not recieved mine anyway. They'll be reading the forums to try and gauge what kind of response they'll get. Maybe that's what Traynor is doing just now. Sitting in a wee dark room with his laptop trying to influence us with his crass attempt at positive spin.

Agree0 Disagree0

5. Not heard anything yet, I think they might wait till the independent inquiry tell us all there's nothing amiss at Ibrox (well they're not going to tell us otherwise are they?) and then we'll hear.

Totally agree with the first post but sod the extra £100 mate, I just want answers. We fans are the lifeblood
of this club and if Ally can talk to signings he can tell us what's going on rather than Mather saying the fans are the lifeblood yet totally disrespecting us keeping us in the dark. We either need to email the club or phone the ticket centre, we need answers now. They talk about respect where is the respect for us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

All this signings talk but nobody has signed. Nobody can register with SFA until 1st Septembee due to registration ban. Skint club won't pay wages until then so won't sign before.

Signing stories is the usual good news deflection from board war. Duping fans as per usual. Meanwhile guys quietly leaving from the back door like the young goalie, the physio, the scouts,.
