Lescott turns down move due to family reasons apparently.

Agree6 Disagree5

19 Aug 2016 12:10:27
Thats what's been reported. Family reasons must be a miss type it should say money reasons .

19 Aug 2016 12:16:05
Is this an attempt to cover up the fact he's going to go somewhere for more money! If his heads not in it were much better taking Senderos anyway. Garner better sign today for a little morale boost!

19 Aug 2016 12:18:45
I heard he failed his medical.

19 Aug 2016 12:23:23
Failed a medical.

Could be true, or could be our way of deflecting above post.

Either way, no deal.

19 Aug 2016 12:27:57
failed medical I would think.

19 Aug 2016 12:31:06
said it on here for days didn't want him he has lost his legs.

19 Aug 2016 12:38:43
Would rather have senderos anyway. Younger and better in my opinion.

19 Aug 2016 12:50:18
I know for a 100% fact that he never even started his medical.

Wether it's done to our negotiating or Sunderland offer or genuine family reasons I don't know.

Cue the he wasn't good enough anyway nonsense.

19 Aug 2016 12:54:45
100% failed medical. "family reasons" is a cover up.

19 Aug 2016 13:00:51
If he flew to Glasgow I would guess he failed a medical as any family discussion would have already been made before he wasted his time on a flight etc.

19 Aug 2016 13:03:15
STV are reporting the deal collapsed after his medical. Garner also sat his Medical today.

19 Aug 2016 13:14:17
Really how do u know mate? its just because an ITK poster on FF said that he failed his medical and was offered a pay as you play deal. not getting on your case just wondering?

19 Aug 2016 13:22:12
BBC reporting failed medical.

19 Aug 2016 13:23:39
Ill be waiting next week for the story "lescott fails Sunderland medical and takes early retirement"

19 Aug 2016 13:34:48
Whatever the reason if the lad doesn't want to play for the mighty Gers then I'm glad it's fallen through. Like MW says we only want players who want to do a job for the club.

19 Aug 2016 13:27:09
Worst news I've heard in ages, got so excited for nothing, had the highest hopes we would sign this player and what a signing it would be, but naw we are now going to probs sign senderos, not good enough extremely disappointed.

19 Aug 2016 13:35:52
His knee is knackered. Long gone are the days Rangers would've signed him anyway. Better we knew know that couple of weeks down the road.

19 Aug 2016 12:52:34
I'm gutted he's not a Rangers player pure gutted.

19 Aug 2016 13:51:31
Haha knew know. That's the sound the ambulance made when it carted Lescott off with his dodgy knee.

Knew know knew know knew know.

19 Aug 2016 14:12:00
He definitely did not sit a medical. Any reports he did are false. I know this for certain.

I'm not a poster who is in habbit of making up rumours (don't really understand why others do) .

I wish he had failed medical, instead it's another deal club has failed to compete due to last minute problem.

19 Aug 2016 14:35:54
Mr nice . How do you know this for sure?

19 Aug 2016 15:31:57
Family reasons is bull rubbish his family is in Manchester but he happy to go to Sunderland which glasgow is only 2hours up from there it's not other side of the world and it's only for two years after that he is going to be retired for the rest of his life so plenty of family time then he need to grow a pair. Family reasons pussy!

19 Aug 2016 16:04:28
The guy would not have flown into Glasgow if there were potential family reasons. I also doubt that it is a medical issue. More likely that Rangers under DK were not prepared to pay the guy what he was worth. It will be interesting to see if the Garner move also stalls!

We are now the team with the biscuit tin mentality and it is an embarrassment. If Warburton wanted the player he should have been given the money to sign him.

We have finally got ourselves a quality manager and I'd hate us to have to go back to the morons that were managing us before him just because King is not willing to put his money where his mouth is!

19 Aug 2016 16:35:57
Quite relieved at this fact to be honest. His muhshot would have decreased the revenue for the club in calendar sales lol.

21 Aug 2016 08:19:54
Heard Lescott had an agreement with Villa regarding his training, Villa wouldn't risk him in certain intensive schedules basically keeping the guy fit but must have had a certain amount cotton wool round him. Bears of there's any truth on this then we dodged a bullet and Sendaros at 31yrs is solid and will do wonders for our defense. Warbs will have the big man fit and he will own his position and our defense will get better and better, just my opinion but can see Warbs rotating the experience with Wallace and Kiernan depending on opposition.
