I for 1 Would like to see a new right bk signed. tav has been good but for every goal he's scored this season he's been culpable for many more. stokes toar him a new wan in cup final and he's slower than a week in the jail. any views fellow bears.?

slower than a week in jail? are you sure you have seen him play?

02 Jun 2016 19:45:02
Wouldn't say he was slow however he is very poor at full back and was taken apart in the cup final.

02 Jun 2016 19:57:22
There is no way he cost us 15 goals, and he is not slow either.

02 Jun 2016 19:58:53
Slower than a week in the jail when he's tracking back maybe. fast going forward tho. I'd get a new right back and use Tav as a right winger along with the rest of our attacking options. His defensive ability is lacking unfortunately.

Maybe bullet1 was in jail and hasn't seen tavernier play! I thought he was excellent in semi final at rb. The whole team was poor in the finalienable.

02 Jun 2016 20:32:33
I would defo get a new right back as he's definitely not a defender and I also would use him as a right winger. he scores a lot of goals and sets a good few up.

I'm not his biggest fan but let's give him a chance in the spl. Hopefully Warburton can improve him.

We would have gave our left testicle to have players the calibre of tav 2 seasons ago! He was by far and away our best player for the first few months of the last campaign, yes he can b suspect at times at the back when caught forward but if he was a great defender as well as having his attacking attributes he would certainly not be playing in Scottish football.

03 Jun 2016 06:27:24
As pointed out earlier he got injured in the final and couldn't turn on his left foot, hense Stokes played on it. The guy is an attacking fullback and not a right winger. Last season in the championship he played great for us. Is there better right backs out there? Yes. Would they have done any better for our team than Tavs last season? Doubt it. Is he an improvement on Foster, Macgregor, Parelta, Crawford and Aird? These are the guys that played right back over the last few seasons before Tavs. I think we should cut Tavs a bit of slack.

Here here Dunbar blue! We're all too quick to fire criticism after 1 or 2 bad performances. The guy is a rb definitely not a winger, we have wingers that play on the wing already.

03 Jun 2016 08:32:36
If we had a quality centre back and a defensive midfield player / holding midfield player of Barton's class then I don't believe we would have lost anything like the number of goals we conceded.

Tav and Wallace are wing backs. They need cover when they go on the attack. That did't happen in many games last season.

03 Jun 2016 10:07:49
Totally agree with that assessment tom.

03 Jun 2016 11:02:36
to say he is slow, you must be a bit slow in the head mate! the guy is never a winger and a really good rb with tons more potential. if we had any decent centre back we wouldn't have conceded anything like that of last season!

we do need cover for him and Wallace but no replacements he will be the best rb in the spl by a country mile next season for me he was our player of the year and only had 3 bad games to my rocolection!

I agree as well Scotty. Well summed up.
MW knew he needed to get a CDM in to cover the attacking FB's, that's why he tried to sign Eustace. By the time that fell through I think he decided it was better to buy MOH before anyone else got him and risk it going with Ball/ Halliday. It would have worked had Ball not got suspended in my opinion. Let's wait and see how we line up next year before writing Tav off. I think once we have a better CB and CDM to cover in there Wallace and Tav will be priceless in breaking teams down that are sitting deep.
I also agree with Bomber in today's paper though, the Europa league would have killed our title chances this year so the Hibs loss could be a blessing in disguise.

He's not the strongest defensively but I wouldn't say he was slow. People forget there is a reason we picked him up for nothing from Wigan.

04 Jun 2016 00:41:32
I would actually try him as cf. What do you guys think. Watching him some times when the ball is with the wingers he is always around the penalty spot or six yard box like a cf. I think he could do a job there he knows where the goals are and his instincts in the box are good just watch his movement in there.
