It’s funny that the word “ assist†is now included even in the score at the end of the game on motd nowadays,
I find it ridiculous really, never had that for a hundred years, now it’s even on here,
If a guy runs 50 yards, dribbling past 6 players, then gives it to a guy wh touches it on to the scorer, the second guy now gets an “ assist†laughable, they all assist, it seemed to creep into the game unnoticed, never heard of it before, now players have it in their details, what next.

So you don’t think that a guy who creates more goal scoring opportunities deserves recognition?
In the modern game the killer pass or cross is valuable. The game has moved on so dribbling 50 is virtually extinct.

ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘I 1 million percent agree with you Tomthumb12. That may surprise most of you on here considering how much I bang on about Hagi and his assists.
Tomthumb12 your post almost exactly resembles a post I made last year when assists became a very popular topic on here when discussing Ryan Kent on here. Some were saying "he hasn't scored enough and has only had 1 assist". At the time I posted saying that the stats didn't matter and asked how many times had Kent skinned 3 players and cut inside then played the ball out wide for Barasic to cross in and get the assist. I was shot down in flames man. So I decided this year to focus on the stats as that was what everyone was going on. So this season so far Tav has been our best player in an attacking sense closely followed by Hagi based on how many goals they have both been involved in.
For the record I do think Hagi is a smashing player but my point is that its amazing how stats seem to matter when it suits.

Did I say anyone shouldn’t get recognition?
I simply asked when did the press start giving assist an accreditation, like a goal, , we managed to get by without the word, now it’s included in the score,

Assists have been tallied up in the game for many years now, it's really not new.
