Looking at that guy Polster reminds me of a young John Greig ( looks only ) there’ll only be one John Greig, what a player he was, I only say him in his latter years, but even then he was fabulous, has anyone on the site seen him in his heydays?

Morning Ulsterman. I had the pleasure of watch Greig many times as part of that great half back line of Greig, McKinnon, Baxter. Greig had everything. He could tackle, was a good passer of the ball and above all a great leader on the pitch. Who could forget his winning goal against Italy at Hampden Park in 1965! He only ever played for the Gers and grabbed a few goals over the years too. What I'd give to have a John Greig in the team today. A true legend.

Like yourself Ulsterman, i only got to see john greig playing for us in his latter years. But what i did see, stayed with me growing up and going to see the rangers. They don't make players like john greig anymore. Hard as nails he was and a terrific captain, of the famous! Greigy had players terrified of him in the tunnel, before they got near the park and boy he could back it up and some. Mr. Rangers and voted by all us bears, as the greatest ranger of all time. Quite rightly so.

Had the privilege of seeing Greig in his prime Ulsterman. If he had been captain this season a lot of the games we weren't playing well he would have let his teammates know. A true legend of the club.

Ulsterman, only saw Grieg in latter years but a REAL captain, one who Tav could try emulate. Grieg will always be a God to those lucky enough to have seen him lead gers.

Think he most definitely could be a future RANGERS captain, !
Tommy.
