Who was going to be our retailers if it wasn't to be SD? And what does this mean for us?

Agree3 Disagree1

They are allowed to match terms of other retailer is what it went to court for so there must be another retailer.

30 Jul 2018 17:43:28
The other retailer was JDSports guys. I honestly thought everyone knew that!

Help me out here, does this ruling mean that we need to go with SD again or does it mean they're allowed to match JD Sports bid and its up to Rangers who they award the contract to?

30 Jul 2018 18:24:17
Sirstruth I'd like the powers above to clarify the situation.

30 Jul 2018 18:49:53
no. SD will be allowed to sell rangers kits also . but rangers will get the same amount as money back from them as they will from JDsports. just means kits may be available sooner now that SD is now included in the deal. but all u have to do is buy it direct from rangers onlinbe or in the mega store. all money then goes to the club.

Going from the news report, SD have won the right to distribute all merchandise and they are currently negotiating a new contract. Will it be equal or better than the JD one, remains to be seen. It does mean that it's still all in the air. It would interesting to see what Hummel and JD Sport have to say about it.

30 Jul 2018 19:21:38
None of my business, but the contract King and Ashley signed, said as long as SD matches the other third parties offer, SD gets the contract, and Rangers are not allowed to negotiate any other deals with any other parties, so I think if Rangers signed a deal with JD sports, that will be nullified, and JD sports will be the next one's suing Rangers, more money going to lawyers.

This is unbelievable to me.

Why would you ever agree a clause that allows a supplier you want rid of a way back in, knowing how your support feel about it? My only suggestion is that rangers feel sd can distribute more through their outlets.

However, why, knowing this clause is in the contract, would rangers agree a deal with another supplier?

Also, how long is this contract and is this a perpetual clause?

Answers please Mr king.

Pipe down aindoh. No reason for JD to sue. They've matched the contract so it's the same money for Rangers.

Does anybody actually know 100% if sales from the megastore and online all go to the club or is it a guess? In the interests of 100% transparency and that?

Maybe just maybe mols king had to play the cards this way to get rid of the Fatman out the boardroom first . no as if Ashley hasn’t tried to screw us for everything. Remenber he sent 7 players up from Newcastle sanctioned by his own creeps in our boardroom. Three or four were injured and we stil had to pay their wages.? We had to get rid of this hood. and if this is how strips or no strips so be it.
