Hearing that Docherty and rossiter at the top of the fitness stats.

Always interesting to hear.

1.) 24 Jun 2018 20:19:18
Certainly looks like they're on good form in the training videos, Full team looks highly motivated which can only be a plus.

2.) 24 Jun 2018 20:23:51
If Rossiter can stay fit were in for a good season

3.) 24 Jun 2018 20:38:46
Lad Docherty is built like a tank so if he can make his game neater then he’ll be a real asset. We need a bit of muscle - Been too powder puff.

4.) 24 Jun 2018 21:16:58
Docherty is extremely fit and is actually a qualified fitness instructor.

5.) 24 Jun 2018 21:39:22
Gareth McAuley flying in to meet up with rest of sqaud .

6.) 24 Jun 2018 21:55:53
Be interesting to see who sg picks in his engine room. High tempo, high intensity might suit both these players.

7.) 25 Jun 2018 13:22:44
If any player deserves an injury free season it's Rossiter.

Another disappointing season over.

Looking forward, we've another new manager in, only this time with a step up in class. I'd like to think it won't be another rip it up and start again pre season and SG can get more out of some of these players.

My hope is for 4 or 5 quality signings right through the middle. Shagger and arfield good start, if true.

Then, it really comes down to thinning the squad of the non contributors of which there's easily 5-10 and get what we can for them.

Should be an interesting close season.

I see that both Herrera and Forrester are back training with us - blowing out their arses by the looks of it.

Must be true that Herrera knocked back move.

Transfer window going well so far, about 8 out and 6/ 7 in of much better quality.

I still think there'll be another 3 or 4 in and out. Think we'll see us bolster cb's, winger and cf positions.

What is different from the previous close seasons is we're doing it the right way, replacing guys that were never good enough with either first team players, or players who will push the first team for a start.

There will still be a core of 4 or 5 from last season who will be first team, so not a total rip it up.

The bench should be a lot stronger too, which can't be understated.

Also, I nice blend of youth and experience.

Positive so far?

1.) 21 Jun 2018 09:36:07
Hopefully Halliday, Forrester, Cardoso and Herrera will be out with another 3 or 4 coming in. Would be nice to see a few of the younger players integrated into the first team also. We will be far stronger this season and as you say Mols bench going to be a lot stronger. It also looks like we will have genuine competition for all positions which again bodes well going forward

2.) 21 Jun 2018 09:57:50
Including loans actu15 away so far

3.) 21 Jun 2018 10:54:52
Best transfer window for movement and excitement since the year we got Pedro Mendez for me.

4.) 21 Jun 2018 13:19:47
You've got me JB
Who are the 15?

5.) 21 Jun 2018 17:30:45
Think upgrade in fitness culture has been plus all round. Gone are the days of Jock Wallace and Gullane. The team seem to want to train for SG.

Doubt it. Sg has said he's not currently looking for a striker.

I'd keep morelos unless a significant offer comes in. The lad is young and should improve under Gerrard. He will have a part to play this season.

However, looking at the bury game, we cannot go into new season with just morelos and windass as our main attack threat and expect to win league.

I actually think the improvement in the team around them, highlighted the deficiencies in their areas.

I expect SG will bolster the options over the coming weeks.

Think SG has actually named Solanki as a rumour, along with others, that won't happen.

Don't think he'd set himself up, if he was interested

May have worked hard, but on the bigger games he was found wanting.

Think he's still trying to get out of boyata's pocket along with Cummings. and we know he's not a brilliant defender.

Folks may say these players would be better with better players, but they need to show you something themselves. Take morelos as an example, missed chances but there won't be many defenders looking forward to facing him again this season, especially with better support.

If alarm bells aren't ringing out loud and clear about our forward play, then it's blind faith you have.

You can only give players so much time, and windass and morelos have had enough to conclude they're not good enough this season, if we want to win anything.

I know we've a few midfield injuries, and we've a couple of players we're waiting to see, but yesterday's midfield/ forwards would get overrun by hibs again, let alone celtic.

On a plus, the area where we've invested some money is looking far more solid.

I'm not sure what money's left, but I'd be seriously ditching Jake cooper for a striker, and have fingers crossed with regards injuries.

I know it's early days, but I'm not even seeing the high tempo, high energy, exciting football we were promised was going to be the mainstay of SG teams.

A lot of work still to be done.

He needs another striker playing instead of him.

Was disappointed in arfield last night. Expected more creativity from him.

We will come up against these types of games all season and we need to break them down and take the chances when they come.

Ejaria looked like he had something about him tho and we'll see what the new guys bring.

One thing I hope is we can finally rely on a clean sheet. It's going to take some time to build confidence, but it's good when you can feel confident at seeing out a 1-0.

Took my 2 young boys to their first game at Ibrox, hoping for a couple of goals and a decent atmosphere.

In agreement, it was a friendly but, it's been a while since even when the subs have been made, the energy levels are still high and on the front foot, so refreshing.

Some positives for me was firstly, the defence. Solid. Coped with everything well. Flanagan took a bit to get going, neat and tidy and grew into the game. Think John has some competition.
In the middle, I think mccrorie has so much potential to make that unglamorous roll that every team needs his own. Thought Murphy looks fitter. His tracking back was better. Arfield looked comfortable.

Whilst morelos was probably involved in 2 or 3 goals, I didn't get the feeling he'd kicked on through pre season. Similar feeling with windass.

We've improved, no doubt but, still 2 or 3 forward thinking 1st team signings short to challenge properly - plus backup.

I hope my boys look back at this match as the start of the road to success.

I have to say, I think mccrorie has the makings of a top midfielder.

Thought he had a great game tonight, and this could be a good season for him.
