Listen, I will probably take pelters for this post but just my genuine opinion on Morelos. I agree with most bears that his performances over the 2nd half of last season and also the 2 European games have been woeful but I think ex managers have to take some of the heat for this as since he's been at the club we have turned him into something he's not, a lone striker. When he arrived and played alongside Miller I think he scored half his tally for last season by the end of October/ start of November when he had scored 9 goals in 8 games? He was still full of confidence from scoring goals in Finland and I think playing as a lone striker, in that team last season has his confidence shot to pieces! Nowadays he does nothing well and almost looks afraid when the ball comes to him anywhere near the goal which can't be said when he first arrived. Yes he missed but he was always back in there. Now he spends more time on the flanks than in front of goal and we are relying on very average midfielders to make runs past him to get us goals. I think it's a bit unfair to criticise him so much when he's being asked to do a job that he's not suited to. I would also back this up by saying that 90% of the posts I read on here during the Chinese speculation in January were that nobody thought he was worth less than 12m which suggests to me he was no bad to begin with? Apologies for War and Peace there folks but give the guy a chance. Maybe playing next to Sadiq will bring the goals back. Let's hope, let's go 🔴⚪️🔵.

So if we had miller standing across from him in the old firm games and others he would have scored all they sitters,

No that’s not what I’m saying at all chips. What I’m trying to point out is that over the course of last season he has been managed poorly, played outwith his natural position which is in the box and has lost the confidence and knack of scoring goals! He’s no Messi but neither was Boyd and look how many goals he scored but Walter Smith had the know how not to play Boyd in these games as he wasn’t suited to the lone striker role! Goal scorers thrive on scoring goals and when confidence is low they are as good as useless. I do believe he is a finisher, I just think we need to find him the right partner up front and take some of the pressure of him.
