Personally I think that Pedro should put bates out on loan to gain more experience and bring in a tried and tested centre back so we have ample cover there thoughts anyone.

Bates on loan would be a good shout. Not sure on who would be available to replace him though? If cash still available would rather it went on other positions. Any ideas who you would like to see Larky mate?

I sort of get your point but i think the opposite. Bates must stay and work with Alves everyday. For me he will develop more by staying.

I agree that Bates will learn a lot from Alves but a loan move to Kilmarnock might not be a bad shout. Worse mentors than Jig, plus game time in the top division.

Imho i'll tell you who we should have signed if we put big bates out on loan! We should have signed ex partick thistle centre half liam lindsay before he went to england!

Better learning under Alves, however he will sacrifice game time as the centre back combo of Alves/ Cardoso looks a sure thing and even in the event of injury I'd bet on the 'experienced' Wilson coming in.
Even though I reckon the boy Bates is going to be a better player I think Pedro will play Wilson next in line, hope the boy gets a chance, loan time albeit a cracking idea it's a bit of a catch 22 he may get game time against lesser opposition and forego the learning under the likes of Alves.
