Finally I saw what we have been crying out for. a bit of fight and passion. Pena is still a bit slow but his finishes were outstanding. Dorrans fantastic. Alves class. A very positive evening. Back in your box St Johnstone gob shi*es.

Was at the game today. Left at 60 mins. had a fair idea by then that we would drop effort. To be fair I had a fireworks display to attend with my daughter. Our right hand side is great. Our left is a player short. Windass for me, even tho he scored is a weak link. Millers passing at times was shocking but no issue with his effort. Mcrorie for me is fantastic. Anyway what i really liked was positioning and our runs into space. Pulled PT all over the place. Holt impressed me. I seen a team that will finish 2nd. Hate saying it but that will do me!

our players will come good i have a good feeling about pena and morelos forming a good partnership with pena playing just behind our goalscorer.
herrera looks like he could be good but doesn't show a lot of fight which isn't acceptable in the scottish game

So I deliberately spent my time during tonights game watching Pena. He is still a few games short of full match sharpness but I maybe see what some naysayers on here dont. I saw perfectly timed and weighted passes into the box. I saw a good understanding with Moreles. I saw vision which unfortunately some of his team mates weren't up to speed with the give and go concept. I saw him score a peach of a header. I saw a natural number 10. i'd play him ahead of Miller. I saw effort. Slate me all you want but this guy is a player.

Agree. I tried to keep an eye tonight too and have similar conclusion- still not sharp enough but a better partnership for morelos. Herrera looked sharper too.

Was impressed with mcrorie, he dealt with salmon better than any of our back line. Looks composed too. Miles ahead of the likes of Bates, who reminds me of broadfoot.

2.) 20 Sep 2017 08:40:48
Agree. A little more playing time is all that's needed

3.) 20 Sep 2017 09:09:09
I agree commonsense Pena is definitely a player who has got a good understanding of the game and he put in some great passes into the box. He is going to play a big part in our success, more than Dorrans and the other players who are always mentioned on here. I also believe Herrera is going to be an asset, play him with Morelos and he could be a perfect partner (maybe not on Saturday) .

4.) 20 Sep 2017 10:04:26
Phil - whilst I agree that Pena looked improved, he still does not look anywhere near a £2m player - that's not just based on his fitness, its based on his weight of pass, and his lack of decisiveness in key moments. I hope he comes good, but for me the jury is still out.

Come Saturday, I wouldn't have him starting in an ideal world as I fear the sheer pace of the game (reference Niko last year) will cause the game to pass him by. That said, our options are thin.
If we were to play a middle 3 - for me it would be Jack Dorrans and Holt (from the players available last night) .

I hope that my negativity regarding Saturday comes back and slaps me in the face but I fear if they turn up in the mood we are onto a real sore one.

On the bright side, John and Tav both looked decent last night

I watched the game last night guys and all banter aside for me it was only fitness that got u thro, aswell as Alnick saving you.
The worrying thing for you guys is that Tavarnier is still your best player and we all know what he is like defensively.

6.) 20 Sep 2017 14:20:13
Better than dorrans no chance. Dorrans will be the difference on saturday, he has the passion for the club in him. These mexican guys dontget it. They have never experienced this type of match before and its going to be a war I think. Need to get the strong tackles in early ryan jack will be the man for that.

7.) 20 Sep 2017 18:30:55
Oh no fod don't tell me your going to be more aggresive against us than all the other teams.
Thats just no fair lol. 😭

8.) 21 Sep 2017 00:33:02
Theres definitely something there commonsense and i know what your talking abt regarding the passes that nobody seen but i saw them. as for starting on Sat, i'd prob go with him but iv got a hunch Ped will go with Kenny.

9.) 21 Sep 2017 00:39:14
I think he did very well tbh and agree that sometimes he has been made to look a bit silly due to teammates being on a different wavelength. I'd start him in a 4 5 1 on Saturday. Not the best performance last night but some very good performances from Pena, Morelos, John and Herrera. Thought young McCrorie was outstanding as well and a nice touch from Pedro to give him a special mention.

I liked the way the team regrouped for extra time and went on to dig out the win. And an unbelievable header from Pena. Good to concentrate on the positives for a change. If we can compete in midfield and keep it tight at the back they are definitely there for the taking on Saturday. Don't forget they also struggled against Thistle and carried luck as per usual. That is due to run out. Just hope that Thompson referees the game fairly for a change

10.) 21 Sep 2017 01:30:40
If you lot think Pena is a player yous have lost the plot. Also Iv heard people saying last night was good? Our keeper was man of the match and we drew again for the second time in a row with Partick thistle a team who now havnt won in 12 games, wtf are people watchin that they can be happy with.

A cup semi, outstaying a team way into extra time fitness wise and 3 excellent goals, a mountain of chances too. That's what Graeme!

Stopped for petrol just up fae Ibrox. Met Diego Costa who had popped in for an isotonic lucozade and 20 fags. Told me he's for a season on loan wae us. Heard it here first :) :) :)

My realistic opinion on where we should be by the end of the season. Finish 2nd in the league but compete enough to let "them" know were on the way back. A league cup or scottish cup trophy. Beat "them" at least once in the league and maybe a draw too. Kills me saying this but i'd genuinely be happy with that. Next season I expect more. Europa group stages and fight for title and the cups. Many won't agree but i'm trying to be realistic and it is purely my opinion.

1.) 18 Aug 2017 11:08:27
yes i'd like that aswell for this season and for next season to win it

The Jason Cummings rangers website thing is worrying, if you click left or right and look at the players there are some interesting names!

Tierney is one bad injury off being worth nowt. great player tho. I like Ross McRorie, ironically many "fans" are too busy slagging each other off to notice the real truth. there's a fantastic Scotland team in the making. We need a manager who can open his eyes wide enough to go with the youth. Crap from English leagues is pointless.

Im with you seeker. As harsh as it sounds I prefer the if you can't beat them, snap them way of thinking. Brown and Griffiths wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes on a pitch with Hurlock, Brown etc. there's nothing. a real Rangers teams players would have piled into Brown in the tunnel and that other skinny wee rat would be snapped in first old firm game. When was last old firm red card?
