ED I go to Juve games and Barcelona games in Europe and one thing I think that would make a difference to the singing is what Juve do is very good for getting the fans psyched up and the atmosphere going.

They employ an MC who stands at the front IN the Juve Ultras end and conducts the fans in singing. I was at the Juve v Real Madrid semi final a few years back and it was awesome the atmosphere was incredible I have to say as much hatred for opposition as an Old Firm game but with none of the songs used banable by the beaks in UEFA. That said I did piss myself laughing at what they were chanting at Zinedine Zidane's to wind him up.

They also make a really big deal of the players names being announced every player's first name is announced and the whole crowd scream out the surname the louder for the fans favourites

If we can have a band and a drummer in the front of the Edminston Stand why not an MC and even a song sheet on the seats?

Glad to see this wretched boards' time is almost up. However I think we are maybe giving too much of the credit to King and almost seem to forget about the PTL team. They for me were the first to come out and put their money on the table. let's not forget them and their efforts to get rid of debacle of a board.

I posted on Craig of SoS FB page last night that I had heard a rumour that easdales are wanting to resign they do not want thrown out of Ibrox is the story.

I didn't put it on here as most people are sick to death of rumours with no source quoted.

That said now that Rangers ST have bought a smal percentage from the easdales "team" shares I am becoming more confident that maybe the infighting that is apparently going on in the boardroom is real. The rumour is tht ashwipe is looking for a front to buy every "neural" share he can get his hands on at the price that can buy them, and he is EXPECTING people to do as he demands due to the loans and keeping them all in jobs. Due to the blatant flouting of the SFA rules this is not going down well as our licence is effectively at stake.

Hoping this is true as when I heard it I just thought it was yet another my best pal's auntie's cousin heard from snowy the dug's owner it was dead true (anyone remember snowy the dug on here 2 years ago?)

I would love them out before the vote to get things started NOW new regime new board new Tech Director and new manager. come bacl Gasparotta, McKay and every young player to be part of the Rangers revolution.

As a member of the rst of many years I'm delighted by chris graham's announcement that the rst has now bought more shares from sandy easdale's block ie.which includes margarita & blue pitch, the rst own now 2.12% of rangers shares which is superb and has weakened the opposition as chris graham has stated on the daily record website, this surely means this board are finished and that king has won the fight, as a lifetime rst member I'm over the moon, I think we've finally done it, what do all us delighted bears think and what do you think ed?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - It puts the requisitioners in a powerful position, however it is ashame that it has taken something like this board to pull the majority of fans together, I hope that these fans groups merge after the EGM and allow for better fan engagement and not half a dozen groups "representing the views of the fans". Well done to them)

Here, here ed, you make very valid & terrific points and I'm an rst member but the correct thing is to come all under the one umbrella in which we can be very, very powerful & all sing from the same hymn sheet!

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed039's Note - Sensible songs on that hymn sheet as well)

It just shows what can be achieved when a common goal is the desired outcome. Will there be complete unity in the future? I can't really see it somehow. As long as they are all pulling in the right direction, that will do me. I do feel we are over the line, and I do not expect the EGM to take place. Unless of course, the rats just want to waste money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed unless the faction leaders all get there names in lights together there will never be harmony at best an uneasy truce

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with ed39. That after the EGM the 3brs, King and the fans are on the board all the fans groups can come together for the good of Rangers Football Club and become one. I am now feeling semi confident of the out come now and am looking forward to a new positive era in our clubs future.

I hope that once we win the EGM all supporters will return to Ibrox and support both the team and the new board because they will need all the cash they can get. I know some people will say they're not going until a new manager comes in but swallow your pride and go back for the sake of our club.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with you bigals, although I've been going all along anyway, we must support the team and the new board as this what the majority of us teddy bears want, ie.a board that puts glasgow rangers first, after all the new board might wait until the end of the season anyway before appointing the new rangers manager and the club needs our support and money now so that we can hopefully get up through the play-offs

I totally and utterly condemn ALL and any singing that offends - end of.

I totally condemn Rangers Fans singing songs of hate and murder - end of.

I totally condemn Celtic Fans singing songs glorifying terrorism - end of.

I totally condemn Celtic Fans bringing hateful and spiteful adverts in national newspapers - end of.

I totally codemn Celtic Fans banners of hate and spite - end of.

Celtic fan on the radio this morning blaming it all on Rangers stating that Celtic fans only sang chants to wind up rangers Fans - oh yes, they were songs of love and admiration!

And another thing - go to any ground in Scotland, any ground and you will hear songs of bile and hatred - to me there is no difference.

Aberdeen sing songs of absolute hatred about Rangers - vile so they are, absolutely vile.

We need to rid ALL the nonsense, not only at Rangers. It seems easy to point ALL the blame and problems at Rangers, very easy == to me that pointing is done out of hatred of the club - the same thing we say that Rangers are doing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Royal Blue. You are right. Over the years I've heard vile, sectarian singing at games involving Hearts, Hibs, Dundee and Dundee United, to name a few. I've friends down here in England who go to Crystal Palace and Millwall games and the singing there is disgraceful at times. So this idea that Rangers is the only club whose fans do this is unfair, though it happens so must stop. As for Celtic, all things Celtic from Board to fans and the media put them on a pedestal as if they can do no wrong. What goes around comes around.

Agree0 Disagree0

At least we all seem to agree that it's time we put this ugly side of our club firmly in the bin.i do agree dignity fc seem to be immune from ant criticism because they regard their songs as political and "it's their heritage".however we must distance ourselves from them and get our own house in order before we start pointing the finger at others.

Agree0 Disagree0

So do you condemn the Orange walk and hibs walk which is also filled with hate!??or do we pick and choose?in my opinion until these "days" are gone from our existence then we can think about ending sectarianism

Agree0 Disagree0

To all who have posted on ā€œthe singingā€ ----- I, like all decent minded fans, am 100% against sectarian and all other derogatory songs sung by fans of all clubs.
How do we get rid of it at Ibrox?? Hopefully we will have the Board of our choice within the next couple of weeks, but who will have more important things to attend too ( and I am not belittling the enormity of this problem believe me) This, I feel, is where our fans organisations could be given a mandate from the Board to root out the rabble rouserā€™s and start attempting to raise the profile of our club.

What about the songs fellow Bears?? Well let's take the one that seems to hit the hardest. In any song we generally have a composer who gives us the melody and the lyricist the words. Now we all know that you don't go around whistling the words, you whistle the tune ------ and that is basically what we remember most of all ---- THE TUNE ---- and boy is there a better tune than the Billy Boys?? ----- damn yin ---- so all we need to do is get rid of is THE WORDS ----- so let's try this simple change of words

-------- ALL TOGETHER ---------

HELLO HELLO WE ARE THE BOYS IN BLUE
HELLO HELLO WE'RE RANGERS THRU AND THRU
WE'RE BACK TO FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT
WE'RE BACK TO SEE IT THRU
--------WE ARE THE RANGERS BOYS IN BLUE

Well it's acceptable to anybody ----- even them!!!!

Royal blue your post started well but like so many other comments on here you immediately began to point the fingers at other clubs. No other clubs are on any charges and if or when they are then I would hope that there own support would be as appalled as you claim to be and address the issue of there own fans behaviour. The continuous they do this or they do that attitude does absolutely no good and probably makes some feel justified and defiant that they have been brought to task. I think rangers fans should wait until they have eradicated there own problems before involving themselves in other clubs issues. The continuos victimisation stance and no one else gets pulled up for anything is becoming predictable and boring

Agree0 Disagree0

Spark74

What do you want blood?

I totally condemned Rangers fans singing and songs that are wrong?

However you want to paint it it is not only Rangers Fans who do the singing - all clubs do it in various forms and guises. If you completely eradicated Rnagers singing the problem would still exist at other clubs, or do you think they would stop because Rangers have.

When you vile bloggers like that fillmagobin posting rubbish about Rangers; when you have Celtic fans putting up hatefilled banners trying incite Rangers fans; when you have celtic fans putting adverts in The Herald again to incite Rangers fans - then it will not stop. Remember, these Celtic fans that do this do not want Rangers to stop their hate-filled singing, no they do not, by doing what they do they are encouraging it, so they are. But why? because they want to see the end of Rangers, that is why. And then you have Celtic itself, writing do the SFA / SPFL condemning the club before judgement in our courts - which again whips up both fans - No it is definitely not just Rangers, no indeed not - and if you think it is, you are either blinkered, a Celtic fan or have never been to a Rangers away games.
Aberdeen as I have already stated sing vile songs about Rangers and it's players - nothing ever mentioned in the media.
Celtic fans sing songs about terrorists, terrorism and killing Rangers and it's fans.
Hearts fans sing The Sash and other inept rubbish.
Hibs fans sing the same dirges as Celtic fans.
I could go on, but I hope you catch my drift.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2015 13:51:38
So what your saying is it's because of celtic fans and celtic minded people. "They are encouraging it" your words, don't they have minds of there own can't they make an educated decision on what's acceptable to sing? Are any other clubs, fans on charges? No, rangers have a big problem with sectarian singing and people like you need to accept that rather than trying to justify the reason for it being the fault of others. For people like you trying to point the finger at others, 2 wrongs don't make a right and if the problem exists at other clubs then the authorities should deal with it in the same manner as they are dealing with the current one at ibrox. After everything that was said by collymore surely the sensible approach would have been to prove him wrong by supporting the team in a positive way but unfortunately for rangers moronic element in their support they chose a live televised match to prove that his views had a large degree of fact to them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Time for the RST, Sons of Struth, Vanguard Bears and other groups to come out and speak up against the people giving our club a bad name.

Not holding my breath on that one though.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not saying it is right, far from it. I am saying that it happens elsewhere, which some people do not want to / or seem to realise. Celtic fans, for instance have a deep hatred of Rangers, far deeper than I think that Rangers fans have for them. Why no outcry for the banners; the letters or the adverts = these kind of things are borne out of hatred, resentment and bigotry - nothing else.
What is good for the goose etc etc.
No point trying to condemn one club when it is endemic throughout the land, or do we just ignore some bigotry??

Agree0 Disagree0

Kerrymac, that sounds great.i for one would be up for that.however you do realise the cretins who follow our club would still sing the original words but if the majority sung your words then no one would here them.i would like to hope that as no one would here them they would go back under the rock that they came from!šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2015 14:46:32
But you have to understand this attitude of one rule for us and another rule for others is part of the reason the problem exists, what your saying is rangers are being victimised whilst others go unpunished. As for the advert there was no bigoted element in it and the fact was printed and no legal action was taken would suggest that there is no grounds for your viewpoint on it and the fact you even refer to it as being bigoted says a lot more about you than it does about the advert, just because you may have a different viewpoint doesn't make it incorrect or even offensive, you just have to shrug it off and move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spark74

No action taken against Rangers by The SPFL - so as far as you are concerned, as your previous posts would suggest that Rangers have no case to make.

However, what I am saying is that the bigger picture out there, which is what we have to concentrate on, is the sectarianism, the bigotry, the racism and the hatred that is part of SCOTTISH FOOTBALL should be tackled in it's entirety and only when it rears it's ugly head at Rangers games. Like the bully who always says that he is not a bully (but in the eyes of the person he is bullying he is), same goes for those who say we are not like Rangers we only do letters; adverts and banners and sing terrorsist songs for a laff!! but in the eyes of the Rangers Fans or whomever is the intended target it is the same.

Can you dig it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Spark74?

Meant to ask - if the advert or the banner had no bigoted element, or racist element, or sectarian slant, or used to incite religious hatred - What was the point of it? What was the aim? What was the end product?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2015 16:03:02
Agree you have valid points but what the other side does is their problems there is as we know people out ther who try their best to damage our club let's not give them the opportunityWe hopefully will have what we all want after the EGM a new board a new era let's not ruin it singing songs that will get us banned or fined and destroy our hard work let's have a rangers every one can be proud of for our future generations .

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2015 16:12:06
I personally think the advert was aimed at the football authorities and the media. I don't think it was aimed directly at fans from rangers. It was to remove themselves from the old firm tag which see's both clubs portrayed as one entity as opposed to having an individual identity.

Agree0 Disagree0

Briblue?

Go on to those other sites and tell them that.

I already know what issues Rangers have, and there are many. It does appear though that others are not aware of their own clubs failings, and choose to single out Rangers. I say to them let Rangers deal with THEIR issues and they deal with theirs - simples.

Or as I have suggested time and time again we look at the bigger picture in Scotland and deal with it together - simples.

Some people don't get exactly what you are trying to say.
I for one agree with you. Although you did go on about celtic a little too much.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spark74 as a blue nose of some 50 years but from outwith the central belt where opposing fans would share the same bus I don't understand the bitterness of people who in any shape or form would try and defend the vile anti catholic singing or attacks on Hearts and Hibs fans. By the same token I cannot understand any defense of the ultra bigots the Green Brigade or the purile pathetic bigots who spent money on a ridiculous vindictive and completely sad advert ignoring the ruling of the people charged with dispensing the legal and footballing rules and interpretations that the majority of the rest of us respect. This attitude that if we don't like the decisions of those in authority we will ignore them until they change their opinions to suit ours probably elevates you/ them to the winners's rostrum in the "most bigoted contest".
Just the opinion of an old bear who doesn't hate Celtic one iota. I simply don't care about your club but then again I simply don't care about any other club in the world. I don't dislike them or wish them any ill I jut don't care about them.
Once you get to the position of completely disregarding your former key opponents you will probably enjoy life a lot more. Like or love your own team and be neutral to all the rest and you will have a happier footballing life. I remember having season tickets one season for my then local team in Ayrshire and seeing both the "big" Glasgow based teams visit. In both cases Rangers and Celtic the traditional Giants of Scottish football were given every 50 50 decision going. The local team were made to move back 10 yards at free kicks whereas the Glaswegian teams were a lot closer to the ball but both sets of fans thought their clubs were harshly treated. The reality seems to me both clubs have had it too easy for too long and it's beyond time to button the whingeing.
Celtic get the easiest time with referees in the top division and Rangers have brought everything on themselves by allowing Murray, Whyte and Green to do their worst in spite of plenty warnings. Own goals all round- move on!

The board and king if/when he gets in should come out & tell these fans in no uncertain terms that this type of singing/chanting must stop, now here's the but will they also have the balls to ask the question why its always our fans who make the headlines when its plain to hear and see other club fans do the same thing every week!
