Rumour coming in from an extremely reliable source that we are the most succesfull club on the planet

{Ed010's Note -but is it a "FACT" lol

Aye Right Enough lol

it is fact no ones won more then us
Glasgow Rangers 115 major trophies up to end of 2010-2011 season and European Cup Winners Cup winners so really we are the most successful club on the planet :)

how can people say its unbelievable when its FACT no club as won more trophies then rangers there for they are the most successful club FACT

it is infact ur blues brothers across the irish sea that are the most successful clubb team i footballing history... LINFIELD...FACT

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Cup winners cup

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually Linfield have only won their league 50 times compared to Rangers who have won theirs 54 times.

Agree2 Disagree0

Linfield have won more but most aren't recognised by uefa so thus makin rangers the most successful team in the world.

Just thought I'd share that fact

Willie

Agree4 Disagree1

Linfield have only won more because they have hundreds of wee diddy cups over there

Agree2 Disagree0

Linfield have won more trophies but aint recoginised by uef/fifa an all that FACT sorry about spelling

Agree0 Disagree0

My local pub team have won more trophies. doesnt mean there the most succsessfull team as there trophies dont count for sh*t

Agree0 Disagree0

The english also call the SPL a diddy league. you can only compete in the league u r i. linfield have wonn a considerably larger amount of trophies than any other tea in the world thus makinng them the most successful.

ALLY McCOIST has revealed that he is close to make his first signing as rangers manager in the shape of israeli striker Tomer Hemed.

and he hopes to follow that up by capturing midfielder Neil Danns from crystal palace and then strengthen the centre back area.

he has been linked with a return move for carlos cueller and loan deals for ex-Ger danny wilson and arsenal youngster kyle bartley who did well at rangers last season before suffering a knee injury.

would love to see jason roberts from blackburn come up to rangers he, s on a bosman
one hell of a striker when you watch him and rangers could defo afford his wage bill easily your thoughts ed.

{Ed010's Note -Jason Roberts strikes me as another of those footballing enigmas. I have watched him on TV when he has been unplayable but on other occasions, he has looked as if he had two left feet. Having said all of that, defenders at any standard of football, hate direct players and especially players who also have power and pace. Jason Roberts certainly has both of these attributes in abundance.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Wud luv to see him at ibrox to, wud be the perfect foil for jelavic! maby we cud even use his pace and strength down one of the wings to!

Agree2 Disagree0

I would rather we went for Russian international Dmitri Bulyakin. He is on a bosman. And has scored over 20 goals for them this season.Bully bye name bully bye nature. He is 6 feet four, and 31 years old.We would get at least two good seasons out him.Just the kind of big battering ram that we need. And I bet we could afford his wages to.

i think if rangers can sign cuellar, hemed, danns, conway and bartley and or wilson (on loan) plus spend 4-5 mill on a star then we would have a fantastic chance of 4 in a row. been impressed with what ally has been lookin at but just hope theres 1 big signing to b announced. heres to another roller coaster ride next season. watp

To the person posting about not needing a central midfielder, in a way i see what you're saying mate and i am with you that players like ness and hutton are the future but as for the short term i have to agree with the ed. At times this season in the spl rangers midfield have looked suspiciously lazy including on more than one occasion playing against THEM, this is due to davis shouldering almost all the creative responsibility in the midfield. I think that the reason we were so rampant in the closing stages of the season was the fact that naismith was dropping off into midfield alot more and helping davis by playing that kind of sneijder role. One thing i dont agree with you on ed is the european games a few of they games i think walter employed the wrong tactics. Take the PSV game for example we sat in and sat in and sat in all game, as soon as we lost that goal and had to go for it we were the ones knocking it round them and in my opinion looked pretty good going forward. hopefully ally will prefer to at least attempt to attack some teams in europe, fair enough sit in against the barcas and man utd's but teams like sporting and PSV we gave way too much respect.
Sorry for rambling on there folks. ed whats your take on this would you rather go with the sitting in tactics in europe or at least try and give a good account of ourselves and attack teams ???

WATP

{Ed010's Note -Firstly I want to place on record the fact that it is a refreshing change to read a "debate" between fans who have differing views on the same subject matter but are able to express themselves without the need to be deeply offensive towards one another. This is what should be happening on this site on a more regular basis.

On the subject of tactics, I personally think that there is to much emphasis placed on tactics before the start of a match because that then sets the tone for the rest of the match or at least until the manager changes them, similar to Walter Smith against PSV. I would concede that there are times when we need to be compact but there are times when we must be more open, especially when we are in the ascendency. Ally's tactics will mostly depend on the quality of player at his disposal but I have a feeling that he will be slightly more adventurous than Walter Smith.

Any news on badoya ed?

J J

{Ed010's Note -All quiet on this one JJ but since Alejandro Bedoya is till under contract to Orebro (Sweden), the European transfer window comes into effect and nothing will be resolved before then. Rangers have had him watched but so have Birmingham City and several clubs from, Germany, Holland and Belgium, so if Ally is still interested, he faces stiff opposition.

Would love to see the following players come in:

Cuellar - £2m
Bartley - £2m
Wilson - Loan
Wallace - £1m
Conway - Free
Eagles - £3m
Hemed - Free
Goodwillie - £2m

Total Expenditure: £10m + Wages.

I would also not be displeased to see the following players leave:

Weir - Retired
Bougherra - £1m
Broadfoot - £500k
Edu: £1m

Total Income: £2.5m

I feel people are expecting an awful lot in terms of players going out. Bougherra command a £1million transfer fee at the very most as he only has 1 year left on his deal. We paid £2million and have had the 3 best years of his career therefore we should be happy with £1million. A few people have posted that they would sell Edu for £2m-3m... Really guys? Would you pay £3m for Edu? Don't think so. £1m at the most for him too I'm afraid. As for Broadfoot, I feel he is just not good enough, he is clumsy and there's a reason he cannot hold down a regular spot in a specific position. I wouldn't be confident throwing him into a big game at centre half which he says is his best position.

Of course these are just my personal opinions so feel free to comment.

Any thoughts of your own regarding these points Ed?

Cheers, Steven.

Any thoughts on this Ed?

{Ed010's Note -I agree with most of your views but just wanted to add a thought on your Kirk Broadfoot viewpoint. Since signing from St Mirren, Kirk Broadfoot's appearances with Rangers, could at best be described as steady but no one can deny, his commitment to Rangers.

At a time when players are asked and expected to cover two or three different positional areas in a team, do Rangers fans think that Ally should keep him because of his versatility and safe in the knowledge that his inadequacies, may not be exposed in most SPL matches.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I think big broadfoot gets a raw deal and i would like to see him get a run in the team one example the big man was outstanding at old trafford this season best player on the park for both valencia could not get by him when he was on park and i remember shagger giggs getting more annoyed the longer the game went on when he was moved out to that position and he was playing as a left back that night

Most people seem to be speculating that we need a central midfielder, but I don't agree with this view. We have Davis, McCulloch and Edu in that department, as well as John Fleck, Jamie Ness and Kyle Hutton. Davis is our most creative force and Big Jig would have been player of the year in my opinion were it not for his injury. Edu returned from injury and was awful at times, but his form picked up again toward the end of the season. Jamie Ness was a breath of fresh air when he came in and reminds me very much of Barry Ferguson, but with probably a wider range of passing. Young Kyle Hutton also looks an exciting prospect and has a similar style to Stevie Gerrard. Whereas John Fleck is still only 19, and although his development has stalled, I know he has the ability to become a Rangers legend, but only if he is played in his correct position as an attacking midfielder in the Durrant mould.

By bringing in any other players in this area, this would knock these young lads further down the pecking order, and I certainly don't want to lose young Murray Park graduates who are still in their teens or early twenties, only for them to go on and become stars elsewhere (ie Charlie Adam).

I would much rather see the young lads get a chance as I firmly believe the 3 mentioned above have wonderful talent and become massive players for Rangers.

Any thoughts ed?

{Ed010's Note -I am one of those fans advocating that we really do need to improve our midfield. Last season we got found out in Europe, when we looked solid at the back but looked as if we could have played all night and never scored in some matches. I will concede that is where the strikers earn their corn but they really were feeding off of scraps. There was no creativity and we looked totally disjointed.

Yes we have some young talented players in our squad but they are still learning and progressing.

Finally and I know that the sign of a good team is to win "ugly" but if further evidence was required on the subject, ask yourself how many times in the SPL were we outplayed and overun in midfield by teams like Hamilton and St Mirren and I'm not being disrespectful to them.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I take your points Ed, but I would argue that in Europe, we were playing back to front with the defenders clearly being instructed to hoof the ball up field, therefore not involving the midfield in games the way they should be. With regard to your point about the lesser teams dominating against us, I would simply put that down to our boys playing off their game far too often, ie Davis, Edu and Fleck when he played. I come to this conclusion as I feel these boys are better than those that play for the teams in question, meaning that on the days in question our lads simply didn't show up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed you are spot on lol just need that one quality midfielder to help out davis! We wud be a differant team in my opinion!

Wont happen full stop, he would only sign for that mob now as his family are all die hard Ceptic fans, only reason he played for Rangers was that it was only Rangers that offered him a contract, wouldn't want him back now either, lets move on thanks.

{Ed010's Note -What won't happen ? Who would sign ?

I'm only guessing but I think you may be referring to Ross McCormack. I appreciate that you know what you are referring to but unless you add the original post or place a "Reference" to it on your post, your train of thought cannot be followed. This is not a criticism but merely an observation. Cheers Ed10

To the guy that said he wouldn't be too bothered about missing out on hemed because his goalscoring record wasnt exactly inspiring...... Take a look at jelavic's goalscoring record before he moved to rangers. Its not exactly awe inspiring yet he is the best player in the league. Its not just about goals, if that was the case why did kris boyd have so many critics???? Ally obviously sees potential in the guy or else he wouldn't be after him... think before you post mate.

Hemed, Danns and Conway to be signed in the next week.
Just saw some footage of Danns and he very much reminds me of a Russell Latapy type player.
Conway isn't a bad utility player as he is still developing, expect another more advanced winger to come in as well.
At the end of the day we can't complain at signing three decent players for nothing.
Carlos Cuellar joining depends entirely on the view of the next Aston Villa manager.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I watched some videos of Danns on youtube and he reminded me of anderson of man united .... not a rumours just saying as you said he reminded you of a latapy type player.

Sabri Sarioglu can play as a right winger or as a right "wing" back. Nowadays, there really isn't that much difference

What game are you watching? A wingers' prime role is to attack. A Wing backs' role is to defend and occasionally attack usually on the counter. theres quite a difference. if there was no difference then a R/B or R/M wouldnt exsist it would just be, winger!!!!

{Ed010's Note -My friend, you know exactly what I meant and your attempt to belittle me, does you no justice at all.

Danni Alves is a "wing back" who certainly does not defend first and gets forward occasionally or if I am wrong, then perhaps I am watching the wrong game.

It would seem according to rumours on the arsenal
website (rumours) site that kyle bartley will not be sold off and his next loan if it happens will be to another epl club so it would seem we, ve seen the last of kyle bartley unless arsene venger decides otherwise he is very rated at arsenal in fact their next centre back for years to come and lets face it he will be a great player given time so sadly Allie better get his skates on to find a really good centre back.

I see Hemed is wanted by a couple of Spanish teams. To be honest i wouldn't be fussed if we lost out on him. Too many people on here judging him by a few youtube compilation video's. His career stats to date are hardly inspiring, especially at his age..he's pretty much at his peak for a striker. Should Goodwillie's court case go in his favour, we should be looking to bring him to Ibrox instead. The boys a proven scorer at SPL level and is still plenty young enough to develop.

Also, with regards to Hemed, apparently he was offered £8k a week. How's he going to feel when he looks across the city and sees his buddy Kayal getting a bumper pay rise? Money talks in this game, not European Football (unless your Barca, Man Utd, Milan etc)

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Kayal's came to the country and proved himself. Therefore he's earned a pay rise. Hemed will have to do the same. Pretty simple really.

Bobby

Agree2 Disagree0

McCoist has said he is interested in both Tomer Hemed and David Goodwillie, when he signs one of them, it doesn't mean he won't sign the other.

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree, he may very well decide to sign both but with Laffery coming into his own and Jelavic firing on all cylinders, can he really afford to rotate and upset the team..or have more players sitting on the bench picking up money for doing sod all?

Agree1 Disagree0

So what do you suggest? Go through the season with only 2 strikers. Only one of which managed 15 goals last season. Playing them week in week out. Through injuries and poor form?

Bowyer was finished years ago. he gets booked every other game n has a record for racial assault. not what i want at my club. before celtic fans start about goodwillie - innocent until proven guilty.
would love big cuellar back n if the boy freedy adu available on a free n low enough wage demands, rekon he would be great on the right. hemed, conway, bartley, cuellar n hopefully (not probable) frings would be what i hope ally gets

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Haha, my highlight of the season is, without doubt, Lennon kicking the bottle at the end of the ICT game. I must've watched that video about 100 times.
Lets hope for more raging Lennon next year.
GovanFR

Agree2 Disagree1

Watching 3 hours of SPL highlights was the best 3 hours of your life? I assume then that you were infact only seconds old before you commenced the viewing of this televisual feast?

Also, at what point in the ear cupping gesture did Lennon suggest "come on then"?. Perhaps he was responding to the bile and hate that was being projected towards him from some of our apparent fans. You may not like the man for personal reasons (despite the fact he has probably done nothing to you) or because he's a Celtic man but the level of abuse volleyed at him is intolerable. I have Celtic fans as friends who don't particulary like Walter Smith but i have yet to hear them say anything derogitary about the man.

It's people like you that make me ashamed to be a Ger.

Agree2 Disagree5

You must have a really boring life.

Agree2 Disagree0

He was only saying that it was funny the fact that he put his hands behind his ears to try and taunt us Gers fans, and we went on to win the league, he wasn't saying anything hateful towards your best mate Lennon haha, so stop bringing crap like that up!!! I see, so because i do not wish to sign about 'Fenian Blood' or have an overwhelming desire to shout "Go Home Fenian Scum", i am somehow a "Manky" trying to stir things up. Or could it be that i do not wish to have my club tarred even more by the sectarian brush?

How do you think many of our ex-Italian players felt walking onto the pitch, scared to bless themselves as all around them anti-Catholic chanting was bellowing around the stadium. How many of our current crop are Catholic but are scared to bless themselves infront of the moronic element of our support. We have all ready been banned (with promise of further expulsion) from Europe because of this. I hate to admit it, but UEFA rewarded the Celtic fans..they banned us yet it is us who are apparently absolved of all allegations.

Not any gossip just want to know what people think about joey barton ?

i know hes had his off field problems and will be on probably about £50k a week, but with champions league football on the cards and newcastle looking like they want to get rid of him because they wont be offering him a new deal. i think we could get him for quite a small fee, £1-2m maybe? maybe £25k a week and bonuses ?

also maybe a change of scenary would maybe do him good

i personally think he would be a brilliant signing (gazza had his off field problems and was still a legend) ??

what do yous guys think ?

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Joey barton is in my opinion class ! would be a great signing but dont really see it happening.

Agree4 Disagree3

Wud love rangers to sign him! brilliant player! but going by his interviews hes a player who wants to play at the top! spl wont cut it for him! he knows he can get a huge wage from other prem clubs when he becomes available! dreamland signing im affraid!

Agree4 Disagree3

I think it wud be a great move for him if he came to ibrox and played well in europe he'd maybe get a chance to go to a better prem team than newcastle anyways

Agree0 Disagree3

Joey barton would totally crash n burn under the old firm pressure n the glasgow goldfish bowl (plus he's a trumpet that likes to bully apprentices n put fags out in their face n that). he's a looney that would self distruct at either old firm
the tiger - barton needs a shrink

Agree4 Disagree0

I wouldn't like him at Ibrox, he is far too immature, he would do more wrong than right IMO, we could do a lot better!!! Plus the manky mob tried to sign him a couple of years ago, that's not the main reason I woudn't have him here though, I have just never liked him and never will, also I could be wrong but is he not on like £80k a week wages?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

If he has agreed terms then it is very unlikely that he will lokk to talk to other clubs. he has apparently already rejected an offer from spain so it looks very likely, almost defenite to go thru :)

Tomer Hemed will be Rangers first signing of the summer, followed by Neil Danns also on a free. Danny Wilson will come back on loan and Derek Riordan is still a possibility on a free transfer. The only players we will sign for a fee will be Carlos Cuellar and David Goodwillie. Still need more cover in midfield though so look out for some loan deals for that area.

rangers have already signed 2 youngsters from man city

never posts my stuff, ever, yet posts complete ludicrous rumours. nice work, ed.

{Ed010's Note -I dislike when people try to use the old blackmail routine but equally, I know how it felt when I posted a rumour/opinion and it was not published, hence the reason for me uploading this. The amount of posts that come through these pages every 24hrs is quite staggering but because of the volume, it is almost impossible to tell who is posting what, especially if no name or email is provided.

As I stated my friend, due to the vast volume of posts received, duplication of the same subject matter is rife and it may be that your posts have not been used because of this. If you care to respond to this post and supply your email address, I can then identify your posts and if there is some other reason for your posts not being used, I can email you with the reasons and advice on how to sort the problem.

As for ridiculous posts, sometimes they are the only "fresh" rumours going about and that is why they are published. Before everyone else starts posting about Messi and Ronaldo signing for Rangers, these type of posts are not published and are automatically deleted. Cheers Ed10

Although, I do edit most of the Rangers posts, I also assist the site administrator by editing posts from other sites, both in Scotland and England. I have no access to the Celtic posts however.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

What are you talking about?Steven Naismith is wasted as a right winger. At least we can play him were he is most dangerous now.Conway will lay them on a plate for him.And more importantly Goodwillie if he comes. And even if he is a squad player. He has the ability to come of the bench and do something. Our squad is thread bare, and we need those kind of options.

Hemmed will join tmoz on a 3 year deal, everything was sorted with his agent yesterday and now only has medical to go. Danns and Conway will be coming in shortly on free transfers, Wilson and Bartley on loan. Goodwillie 2m, Weiss 2.5m and cueller 2.5m. Players that will go Beattie 250k, weir retire, bougherra 3m.

Most of that is realistic, one thing though, Weiss will not be joining anyone for £2.5m seriously, he is worth at least £5m, probably more, and even that would be a steal!!!

Rangers to sign Tomer Hemed tomorrow after he completes his medical, and we will also sign Craig Conway after talks at Ibrox on Wednesday morning. Also, Neil Danns on his way up for talks, but he still has to talk to other clubs because he hasn't made his mind up, also, David Goodwillie to come in for around £2million. Ally's main aim is to bring in 1 or 2 defenders, and his preferences are Carlos Cuellar, and Danny Wilson. He may have to end his interest in Kyle Bartley because Wenger is being a fanny!

Rangers to offload Bougy to either QPR, Liverpool or Arsenal in the summer, and Davie Weir is to retire and become a coach either here or at Everton.

Possible Rangers Line-Up next year:

Mcgregor

Whittaker Wilson Cuellar Papac

Danns/Conway Davis McCulloch Naismith

Rangers hopes of signing Israeli international Tomer Hemed are today hanging in the balance.

SportTimes understands Ally McCoist s bid to make Hemed his first signing could be scuppered by new interest from La Liga outfits Real Mallorca and Espanyol.

The Ibrox club held extensive talks with Hemed s agent Max Meltzer yesterday and tabled an £8,000-per- week three-year deal. But the Spanish hijack counter offer is thought to be almost double that of Rangers package.

Evening Times.

Hi ED!! You know anything about Keith Jackson from the Daily Record getting banned from Ibrox and Murray Park?? Is it because the story from yesterday was false?

Billyboy1!!!!

{Ed010's Note -Billyboy, there is no doubt that the story was taken offline yesterday evening and it was rumoured that it was as a direct result of Mr Whyte, through his lawyers, threatening legal action. I am in no position to confirm whether the article was either false or inaccurate but there can be no other reason. The article in question was written by Keith Jackson, so if Mr Whyte felt so strongly about it, he is quite within his rights to stop anyone from entering his property. Again, I don't know if Jackson has been banned but I would not be surprised if that were the case.

Im looking in the forums and rumours sites for a spark of activity on the transfer front and it seems to me that the delays are all to do with mr whytes iron grip on the purse strings now I know its wise to be prudent but I just feel somethings amiss. Its like he, s going to others to get approval for each deal or is at it somehow.I sincerely hope Im wrong but it seems that the issue of signing danns and hemed has taken forever..and the cuellar issue cant be resolved until he, s free of injury anyway so why highlight that story? why is the transfer budget appearing to be so tight ? is the reality of it so bad that they are trying to hide something ?

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Yeah, because transfer negotiations go like this

Whyte " you want tae sign"
Hemed "Aye man, "
Whyte "Nae Bother"

Every signing takes time to complete, why should we just sign players for the sake of it? Remember how long the whole Jelavic thing took,
You can't rush these things.

Rikkisixx

Agree4 Disagree0

Mate, you need to cool down. The money isnt burnIng a hole in whytes pocket. Deals take time. Look at jelavic last year. Just because the money is available, it doesn't mean it should be squandered and blown in the first 2 weeks off the window, just so that theres excitement for you in the forums. What if a cracking player pops up available in the last week of the window for 2 mill and ally's blown the budget? And just because we've got money available, why shouldnt we be going for frees and loans? If someone said to you, here, you can have a new mercedes c-class for 30 grand, or a new BMW 3 series for free, what would u take? If we sign 5 quality players for free and on loan and only spend 1 million on 1 player, that'll ding dang do for me. Just because their out of contract doesnt mean there not brilliant! I for one care more about the financial and sporting security and future of my club than i do about being able to say we bought a player once for 5 million quid! Just relax mate, enjoy your forums, and have faith. The windows open for another 2 and a half months..........

In reply to rangers being the most successful club of all time actually look at the number of trophies won by linfield.
Honours:
Irish League Championship - 50 times
Irish F.A. Challenge Cup - 41 times
(City Cup) - 29 times winners (inc. 2007/08)
Gold Cup - 31 times winners
Ulster Cup - 15 times winners
Co. Antrim Shield - 41 times winners
All-Ireland Cup - 4 times winners
Budweiser Cup - Once
Coca-Cola Cup - 3 times winners.
I'm not gonna add it up but its more than 115 ok northern irish clubs have alot more comps than us but still dont post things joke about it being fact then get owned by a 21 yr old :)
mon the teddy bears
ps 1st post so I will just add my 2 cents to the transfer debate
cuellar- amazing to get him back
weiss- would love him back but dont know if he will come
healy- dont think he will stay been told to find regular football or miss out for N.I. by Worthington but is 31 so time may be called on international career.
foster- dont want him back we need 2 new full backs and i would agree with other posts ive seen on this site a player like hutton and wallace...( can wylde play lb? or do we have any young full backs if so i would get rid of broadfoot as well as boughie
bartley/wilson- woould try to sign bartley permanently and would also bring both of them as we have weir who should retire boughie gong so only papac, bradfoot and whitty to ply cb and i would hate to see anyof them do it if we r going to play 5 at the back in europe a back line of wallace wilson cuellar bartley hutton would do ok.
Edu- needs to stay one of our best ball winning midfielders of recent years still yound would rather him than mccullouch and have davis as captain
frings- prob too expensive but would be great signing
along with this i would like 1 or 2 wide midfielders also looks like we may get danns dont know mch about him but have some good reports so could be a good signing
hemed/ goodwillie - if we sign both is laffers gonna get a game after winning the title for us i feel he seserves the first 5-10 games of next season with jela
milller- dont want him back dont care if he dont like turkey.
its my first post dont slate me too much

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Incorrect theey are not all uefa santioned competitions .... hence why gers dont include the tournies they have won that are not uefa recognised such as the glasgow cup.

Agree4 Disagree0

Good points, with your first post buddy,

I still don't Rate Edu though, I think Gomis is better, and IMO That is a position I think we could use young Hutton as a permanent fixture, He can pass the ball left and right, and is not scared of anyone. (Go back to him putting the sh*ters up Broon at Parkhead last season and Broonie sh*t it from him)
Weiss would come back to rangers but I think its out of Rangers and Weiss Hands, I have a feeling that Mancini rates him.

I am actually struggling to think of a playmaker Midfielder that Rangers could get at a decent Price, or freebie/loan
I'll say it again, Das Hammer Mk2 Hitzelsperger would be the man for me, I know his wages are high, but I think he would love it here.

Realistically though new signings Cueller, Bartley, Wilson (Loan), Conway (according to STV today) Dannzy, Goodwillie and Hemed.
If you add these players to our current squad, It actually looks quite competative,

dont you think you should be aiming higher than resigning ex players

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Well if ur talking about king carlos then id say were aiming pretty high .... this is a guy we already know will canter the spl as he has already. He was also one of our best performers in europe. Carlos would walk into any old firm defence of the last 10 yrs easily.

is this the best u can do really ?? ps pot/kettle ..... i give u Keane, Given, Bellamy, petrov ..........

Agree1 Disagree0

We are only resigning good players, Cuellar is a solid CB and we sold him for 8m so to get hinm back for 2 is good business.

Agree3 Disagree0

Once a player leaves you should never resign them IMO. If they wanted to stay they would have and if they were sold then there must have been a reason for selling.

Agree0 Disagree3

Yes I think that, s affair comment but Carlos did well first time and he still has a few good years left.but the most important thing is he is still rangers daft and loves the club so I personally think this is a no brainer and we should build a defense around him. Airdrie bear

Agree2 Disagree0

Whom that we could afford to sign and that would sign for us, do you rate higher than carlos cuellar?

Agree1 Disagree0

He was sold to make the club a £5.5m profit and on the advice of his national coach who said he wouldn't make the national team playing in the SPL. He now wants to play football for the team he loves and has given up on Amy thoughts of the national team. If we pay £2.5m for him again we will still of made £3m profit from his transfer fees

Agree1 Disagree0

"Once a player leaves you should never resign them IMO. If they wanted to stay they would have and if they were sold then there must have been a reason for selling."

Why not, Its about whats best for the club, Cueller stated at the time he loved rangers, but he was told if he wanted to break into the Spanish Side he had to go to a better league. Carlos Cueller, single handedly took us to Manchester that year with some of the best performances by a defender anywhere else that year.
So in your opinion, If Rangers were realistically in with a chance of signing charlie adam back would you knock it back, What if we could have got Rino Gattuso back at 29, would you have knocked it back, Van Bronkhorst even ??? Would you tell Spurs to keep hutton if they offered him to us on loan for a year? naw. The reason for leaving is simple, we can only offer a certain level of competition, and wages. Players leave Rangers, not cause they don't like the club, but to further their career, and yes, in some cases fatten their wallets.
I like my work but If i get the chance of a promotionk in a different department/area, and get paid higher, and the burds are better looking.....There'd be a Rikkisixx-shaped whole in the wall. (never gonna happen anyways, since I am on this site all day)

just a bit of info for "RANGERS supporters" just to stop the bickering ed.

Rangers have signed 25-year-old Spanish central defender Carlos Cuellar in a £2.5 million deal. Carlos is Walter Smith's 6th signing of the summer and tops the list with the largest fee.

{Ed010's Note -I'm not a "bickering Ed" lol.....thanks for your post.

Ed can you let this clown know that Sir Walter isn't the manager anymore !!!!!!!!

Blackwoodbear

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I take it this has been copied and pasted from an article written when Walter initially signed Cuellar? Back when Walter signed him in 2007 for £2.5m? The fact he is 29 going on 30 probably gives it away!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nor is he 25 anymore! Post is 4yrs out of date pal!

{Ed010's Note -My friend, the post was made in response to a "arguement" that had developed about who actually signed Carlos Cuellar, when he arrived at Rangers.

The person who posted the statement was trying to show that it was Walter Smith who signed him, thus preventing any more arguements. The post contains a direct quote from the original article in 2007 when Cuellar was signed and that is the reason for it being 4 years old.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh Dear Blackwood! Think about it! lol

He was 25 when he left us, think he is 29 now.

21 year old Daniel Didavi. from a German club. Sorry thats all i heard

{Ed010's Note -Daniel Divadi is a 21 year old midfield player with Stuttgart

sorry about the spelling ed. people at work keep talkin about this Sabri guy from turkey aswell you know anythin.

Sabri Sarioglu is a 26 year old Turkish winger who plays for Galatasaray.

are these guys any good ed?

Ed10 - I know nothing of Daniel Divadi and just a little more about Sabri Sariogu. Sabri does play for his national team and is similar in many ways to Rino Gattuso, he runs, chases and harries opponents all over the park. He doesn't have a great scoring record but that really isn't his forte. That is really the extent of my knowledge on him. Not a lot but hopefully enough for you to have a picture in your mind. Cheers Ed10

For goodness sake fellow bears! I've read a few threads today that, for want of a better word, went on a bit and were a bit drawn out. But more importantly, were possibly verging on abusive and derogatory to other supposed fellow supporters. We should be supporting each other and taking the 'rumours' as such, not slagging each other or being snide with one another. We are all after the same cause afterall.... The love of our team. Let's be positive guys. Be respectful towards one another and accept the site for what it is.... Rumours and banter! Ed is doing a steller job. So let's not lower ourselves to other certain teams levels eh? Believe as big Marv would day! Lol positive thinking guys! --------------------------------------------

well said my man, enough is enough.
