We have posted a job advertisement for a Director of football operations will be interesting to see who they bring into this role as far as I can see this will be a role just below Thelwell so probably another yes man.

Sporting Director and Director of football are the same role so I can only think that Thelwell might be on a tightrope or they doing something completely new and innovative. Thelwell won't be in charge of this as it's the same role.

You can all draw any conclusion what you like, at the end of the day he will have to work with Thelwell, and Thelwell will not be leaving anytime soon, all this board are doing is blundering on and hope we will all move on and things will get better, which they will not with the incumbents we have at our club, Danny Rohl excused.

Bluebalou, would you employ someone that'd take your job off you? If we are appointing a Director of Football Operations it'll be to remove a series of jobs from Thelwell to let him focus on separate areas. I get the recruitment hasn't been good enough but he must be succeeding in other business terms to still be in the job, the Yank is no mug by all accounts.
The perpetual negativity from our fanbase is exactly the reason why we'll continue to fail, until we start trying to be a glass half full we'll see everything with a horrible muddied hue and stifle the clubs own progress.

Why do we need a Sporting Director and a Director of Football? I can only think that Thelwell is trying to bring someone in to do the job properly so that he can sit back, oversee what going on take the credit if it goes well and sack the guy if it doesn't.
The football side of the club has been in freefall in all areas in the last 6 months.
The first team has had to replace the manager, the squad is full of duds.
Apart from Curtis there is not one young player pushing for the first team.
The womans team have lost their manager and 8 or 9 big players and now sit 5th in the league.
We are going backwards at a time when things should have been progressing.

Another possibility is that Thelwell's job is being made untenable, with a view to forcing a resignation.
Or maybe I'm just trying to find a wee golden nugget in among all the doom and gloom. ?♂️.

im looking forward to the future and have backed Rangers 3 times to win the league, the future is bright,
i like that w3 are filling the positions which were dreadfully understaffed recently, and i don't hate the, well at all, the job has hardly began, i5 was always going to be a tough beginning for me
i'm a bit taken avack by the nonsense that some folk will make up in they're heads and actually believe it enough to the extent they are happy to tell the world but heyho, I've seen Rangers 10000% in a worse state than this so i'm very happy seeing it begin the shoots of a great future,, i'm also very happy to giv3 them time to get it right,
