I would want someone who is a decent coach with good experience, a very good knowledge of current teams and players in the SPL and all the grounds. If he happens to be ex Ranges that's great but prefer knowledge of the SPL above that. Neil McCann would be my 1st choice.

I've never hidden my preference for Neil McCann being given the role, but Steven Davis would be a good shout. He'd never take it but I would welcome Barry Ferguson in the role as well.

Don't see what Duncan Ferguson has ever done as a player or a coach to merit a coaching job at Ibrox. He wasn't much of a player for us and apart from his spell as assistant at Everton his coaching roles have all ended in failure. You couldn't even say that he knows the Scottish game that well as he spent most of his career in England.
If we want a character to shout at the players and tell funny stories then he is your man but if not there are lots of better candidates out there.

I've got nothing against Ferguson but really don't understand people wanting him as a coach. Really don't see anything to suggest he'd be a personality that would fit in Rohl's set up and seen nothing to suggest he is a good enough coach.
For me its got to be an ex player who can learn from Rohl and take over after a number of successful years and he gets headhunted.
