Thelwell is getting a lot of stick and rightly so for the bad signings. But who is signing off on these decisions? Surely they all have to get board approval?
Dessers -29 goals, sold and replaced by Chermiti - 0 goals last season
Igamane -16 goals, sold and replaced by Miovski - 2 goals last season
Who can look at that and see any form of good design making there and allow that to be sanctioned?! The new owners are clearly successful business men but the whole football side of the decision making is miles off at the moment. That's naming just a couple!

Understand the post but both player that left were desperate to leave especially igamane. But recruitment for replacements have been horrific. You could go pluck a striker out the top of thr juniors who woukd probably give you more than Chermiti.

Thought John Kenny looked a lot sharper than Chermiti today and the Celtic fans don't even seem to rate him and he spent last season playing in the league of Ireland. Hopefully Chermiti does improve but does a single fan really see him making us a profit when he leaves?
As for Miovski, I still reckon he could turn out to be a very decent buy.

Paul we get you don't like Chermiti but you don't need to repeat on every post he's not worth what we payed for him not his fault but he offers more than Miovski.

The answer is obvious when the board, who are not football men, appoint a Sporting Director to take charge of the whole football dept then he is responsible, along with the manager for signings and sales. He won't be required to run it past the board except maybe to get it rubber stamped.
We have lost over 50 goals from last season and replaced them with two hopeless strikers and a winger who rarely scores. There should be questions about recruitment of pretty much all of them except Cornelius and Gassama.
Chermitis lack of even the basic skills is actually embarrassing.

Most of the players who left, and a few who are still at the club were told by Martin that they weren't in his plans and to find new clubs, including Dessers and Iga.
When Thelwell and Purdy joined, the vast majority of the recruitment had been planned as per the instructions from Clement and the Ferguson (think Ferguson has been pretty open on the players he recommended).
Martin wasn't happy with the standard of player (which was strategically a little lower than you'd typically expect as we'd been burnt the previous windows chasing players that just weren't interested in coming to Scotland).
Cortes and Cameron were already agreed.
Rothwell, Aarons, Meghoma and Moore were all signed specifically at the request of Martin.
Djiga, Fernandez, Thelo and Miovski were all players we'd previously scouted and were effectively the bottom of the barrel after we missed out on or Martin rejected alternatives.
Gassama and Antman were players we had identified that Martin signed off on - eventually.
Chermiti was identified by Thelwell.
Cornelius was identified by Purdy.
Hopefully over the next few windows we'll have a recruitment team that's working in tandem with the coaching team.

I don't think the new owners have got anything right since coming here.
From top to bottom the club is a shambles, topped off by a number of frauds moonlighting as Rangers players.
Improvements cost money and I'm not sure if they have the willpower or know how to fix our once great club.
Goodwill is disappearing fast.

I really think Cornelius is a player, I'd like him to be sign permanently. I think Theo is young and will improve, it's all about his attitude now. I don't blame him for the red today. Gassama is similar, he's not playing with confidence just now but he's not as bad as people like to make out.
The boy from Everton is awful, we need better. He's young and naive but doesn't look like he has the basics. I would try and get half the money back in January.

He has been extremely poor in a Rangers Jersey, he was good in the championship, his form or fitness has deserted him, BB is right but, needs that form here.
