It is actually a far better way of hiring people, if you already know them and know they can do the job. Thelwells job is to hire people in the football dept. and he's done that so what is the problem.
As for hiring staff rather than buying players, there is more to a football club than just the team, we haven't had an Academy Director in months and its an important position that needed filled.
Thelwell deserves criticism for a lot of what he has done, but let's stop jumping on every decision and criticising it just for the sake of it.

Just got back from holiday and was talking to a few wolves fans with connections to their academy and they all said solid coach with great knowledge. Has been with them for a long time so has the experience we are looking for.
Also know he wasn't the top name and we were turned down in the summer by another Scottish coach a lad called Andrew Goldie.
