This Anybody else picking up on this?

I was told by a friend who works in the lower leagues that since Rangers scraped the B team, they are offering some of the youngsters to other teams on low cost loan deals in order to get them tested at a higher level than they can currently provide within the "B" team structure. In some cases the cost to the teams taking these guys on is as little as covering the players expenses plus a token loan fee. Apparently this low cost option to the receiving teams is a loophole, that satisfies the current trading rules and regulations of the SPFL.

His view is that since there is no desire to bring the SPFL in line with other countries and permit "B" teams in lower leagues, other top level teams may well will jump on board with this idea and he reckons that it may lead to the opening of discussions on the the way forward for the development of young players.

Teds there is no loophole in loans being zero ot cheap,

2.) 01 Feb 2025 17:39:33
Thats brilliant if true, useful money for other teams too.

3.) 01 Feb 2025 17:40:48
I have heard that the spfl are looking at restructuring the youth system, and there idear is that teams will be assigned a team from each league below them who they can loan youth player too, but under this modle they will be able to call the player back from the loan and send them back on match by match matters.

I still think that there needs to be a youth league as these players need to play.

4.) 01 Feb 2025 18:03:58
Broxi I was involved with youth football for 8/ 9 years and the youth set up in this country is a complete and utter joke. I have no faith in the SFA/ stay to do anything properly.

5.) 01 Feb 2025 18:10:19
Koppens strategy to blood our academy players when they're ready. Our academy players aren't getting anything from bounce games here and there. Our SFA and spfl board need to realise that having b teams in our lower divisions will vastly improve not only our clubs but the game in general and our national side. Personally would rather have them under our coaches watchful eyes than an external coaching set up.

6.) 01 Feb 2025 18:15:18
I attended an SFA Coaching session as I was helping with my son's team - under 8's at the time. The badge was called "Early Touches" which caused some alarm. However, one of the slides contained the following groundbreaking information.

5 a-sides = 5 players
7 a-side = 7 players
11 a-side = 11 players

It went downhill after that….

7.) 01 Feb 2025 18:20:20
Stormtrooper, I've been involved with youth football down south for over 23 years and the infrastructure down here is light years ahead of Scotland, I actually had my under 14,s team up at Ibrox a few years back as we toured Scotland for ten days, out with Rangers training ground where we played Roma boys club and a Rangers development team, the pitches changing rooms ect were a disgrace, the whole infrastructure in Scotland needs changing, our trip to Ibrox was fantastic to be fair, Rangers gave us match tickets stadium tour and two games at the training complex where the facilities were incredible,

8.) 01 Feb 2025 18:35:01
Wite shark, you r 100% correct. English set up is amazing, England training centre out of this world.

9.) 01 Feb 2025 18:41:09
Can we really blame the sfa for this as it needs the clubs to vote on restructure and introduction of b teams. clubs in lower divisions don't want it so vote against it. it needs to be set up so the sad sit aside and vote for what is best for the country and not rely on auchenshoogle untied doing what is best for game in the country.

10.) 01 Feb 2025 19:25:15
Don't think we're scrapping the b team but rather prioritising sending out on loan. I can see more of an idea to send half the under 20s on loan for half the season with the rest training with 1st team then switch for 2nd half of the season. So gaining experience but also training with first team.

11.) 01 Feb 2025 19:34:11
Agreed angus.

12.) 01 Feb 2025 20:01:13
There was a story a few weeks ago that Koppen favoured scrapping the B team fixtures and that after U18s the youngsters would either be training with the first team or sent out on loan to play competitive football. To do this it stands to reason that we would not be looking for recompense from these clubs .
The idea of the SFA nominating clubs as feeder clubs for the big teams won't get passed as these clubs fans want their own players not half the team belonging to somebody else . It also blocks their own player development.
We need organised leagues for U21s or B teams in current league set up.

13.) 01 Feb 2025 21:59:15
There's a lot to add to this thread that will be revealed in the coming months.

Expect our youth set up to be unlike anything else in Scotland by the start of next season.

14.) 01 Feb 2025 21:53:40
Are we not just allowed to send 6 players on loan at one time. thought it was UEFA rules but not sure.

15.) 02 Feb 2025 07:25:01
Storm, you were involved with youth football for 8 or 9 years ?Pull the other one mate, you would have the young kids greetin' ?.

16.) 02 Feb 2025 12:33:40
There is no limits on loans out. There is limits to how many players we can loan 1 team. Rangers could essentially loan out every b team player if we wanted to.

Tav, interesting several championship and league 1 clubs, who are willing to take up the remainder on his contract and pay Rangers a small fee to cover the transfer admin costs, sounds similar to the summer exits of Goldson etc. Plus side is it would free up his wages for any January acquisitions.

Teds_Pal John

1.) 11 Nov 2024 20:51:59
What clubs Teds and where did you see this ?.

2.) 11 Nov 2024 21:02:12
With both lammers and goldon we paid them out the remainder if there contracts to get them off the wage bill.

3.) 11 Nov 2024 21:41:11
Doesn’t he have a testimonial coming up? If so can’t see him leaving to league 1.

4.) 11 Nov 2024 22:50:54
Paul no we never.

5.) 11 Nov 2024 23:22:00
Add ons in the Lammers deal that won't be in this years accounts and can't see us not getting them he's doing very well.

6.) 12 Nov 2024 03:28:00
If you paid up contract, how does that save money on wages.

7.) 12 Nov 2024 06:15:46
Naw Ano gers88 that’s what I was thinking aswell.

8.) 12 Nov 2024 08:03:08
Its just what was touched on in the media. That we paid off there remaining contract. I guess we will find out in next years accounts. It was gospel on here remember that was settled out court with elite for under 1 mill. Well that turned out to be utter nonsense.

9.) 12 Nov 2024 08:06:40
That’s a wild statement Paul, do you have anything concrete to support that? I’m not wanting to doubt you but I just can’t see that being the case.

10.) 12 Nov 2024 08:18:37
Or perhaps they ment with Sakala etc? As the accounts show the previous year we only took in 800k in transfer fees even though we sold kamara reported 5 mill sakala reported 4mill and colak reported 2.5mill. The 800k figure is due to the pay offs of players.

11.) 12 Nov 2024 09:32:53
Let him see out the year and give him a testimonial. He doesn't have to start games anymore but this crap that people give him is disgraceful. Almost 500 games and this is the way people treat him. They should be ashamed of themselves. that's not supporting its the oposite.

12.) 12 Nov 2024 10:54:25
I am honestly not concrete on lammers but i know goldson got a rather large sum when leaving.

13.) 12 Nov 2024 12:43:06
Goldson was on so much money and his replacement gets so much less, with only a year to go, it might still have been a good deal to pay him something but if we paid up his contract we don`t save anything so financially it would be better to keep him. Football wise it would aslo have ben better to keep him because his replacement is hopeless. Can`t see us paying off Lammers because he would have a long term deal and it would have cost us a fortune.
a lot of these things in the accounts aren`t as simple as they sound, there will be moneys owed in transfer fees for the likes of Lammers that still have to be paid and in the case of the Elite deal would the money quoted not include all the costs associated with this suit not just the settlement paid to them .

14.) 12 Nov 2024 12:55:01
I’m sure we got just over a million for Goldson did we not?
And we also got money for sakala and lammers
Infact was it it not 2.5 for lammers or something their about?

15.) 12 Nov 2024 13:20:01
Livi to let him see out his contract cost us over 2 million.

16.) 12 Nov 2024 17:02:13
It has been reported on various sites we got
4 million for sakala
2.5 for Lammers although I understand that includes addons
1.7 million for Goldson

It’s not to say we did not pay them off although I don’t think we did.

17.) 12 Nov 2024 23:18:11
For some of the deals that are being discussed, Rangers will may use a portion of the fee as an incentive to encourage players to leave - however we would still gain financially from the deal, otherwise we wouldn't sell.

On the Tav rumours, I think I mentioned on the live chat at the weekend that the feeling around the club is he will not see out the season.

Wigan seems to be where the majority of the rumours have him heading.

Ferguson has no intention of giving kids a chance.

He's bringing on out of contract players to simply try and get results so he can interview well when the time comes.

It is woeful man management by dropping Nsiala out the squad entirely today. Not giving Curtis a go in a meaningless game.

It's self serving garbage from him - much like his radio/ media career.

If you look at it I think he's keeping them ticking over for Europe he even took off

Yilmaz dio Hagi propper igamane

To me it's clear he was saving them for Europe.

2.) 01 Mar 2025 18:04:00
You know that tournament that can earn us more in one round than the league can in a season for prize money.

3.) 01 Mar 2025 18:06:23
And no manager can manage for individual mistakes

Butland twice bad choice ball out to dessers instead of guy on wing and then spills an easy shot into one area they could score it

Also tav mistake lost ball then had opportunity to smash guy and ball out went in with that tip toe softly attitude and even then only jogged back never a captain for me

A club captain and an on field captain are completely different.

4.) 01 Mar 2025 18:07:26
He's trying to win football games. has he not said that enough?

5.) 01 Mar 2025 18:23:05
Lawrence should not be playing plain and simple.

I said I would have kept PC till summer if it was going to be Barry in charge and I wanted rid of PC.

6.) 01 Mar 2025 18:24:05
Ferguson only there for his own benefit,
Young lads won't get chance
Treatment of Nsiala very poor, if he was hooked for mistakes why wasn't Tav k.

7.) 01 Mar 2025 18:28:25
Butland has been very poor end of last and this season, far too many mistakes, that one today was another shocker, how he managed to spill that shot today!
Added to that we are so weak across the back, reliant on a 37 year old and Souttar not reliable.
Our recruitment has been terrible and once again looking like we are needing six or seven first team players.

8.) 01 Mar 2025 18:37:27
That's poor . Barry came in when the club he supports asked for his help sp it's unfair to say he's done it to help himself.

There needs to be a clear vision yes. Need to be ruthlessness to clear out the wages. Doesn't matter if there's no transfer fees.

Matondo, Dowell, Lawrence, Mcausland all need to go even if its for free. There's still a transfer fee available for Dessers, Tav and Propper.

If we somehow move on Dessers, we shouldn't be bringing in anyone other than giving Lovelace a real go to see what he can do.

Give Bailey Rice and Nsiala real chances. Findlay Curtis is too good for the B team - call him up.

We should canter to second with a bit of experience and these kids.

Use the next 6 months to get ourselves in the right place for next season. Just like celtic did a few years ago.

Oh and by all means cash in on Hamza ASAP! He's got flash in the pan written all over him, a bit like Grealish at Villa. Great in a bang average team.

Does anyone have anything constructive to say regarding Mark Warburtons comments on the reasons behind his and David Weirs departure and the consequential abuse and death threats he recieved as stated on Saturdays CS-Aye Football podcast?

Good point John, if infact if Kelly has a deal in place with Rangers, he should have signed it, its not as if Rangers don't need the money.

We're the Rangers board smart enough to get Ryan Jack to sign short term to get the EUROS money? . I suspect not.

The club Will be lucky to clear our expenditure to date on this guy.

Also hearing Dessers, the guy according to many on here, single handedly cost us the league has his agent actively trying to get him a move away, personally if true I don't blame him.
