Stewarty, we can't play youth for the sake of it, that would be stupid. If the youth are good enough and better than what we have then they will play. You can't throw youth in just because you want the manager to grow a pair, absolute nonsense. Fans wouldn't need to slag them if they had a poor game, they would shoot their own confidence to bits because they were played prematurely👍.

Coldo what is the harm of getting these young lads involved in the first team squad and give them game time from bench to start with.
then we can get rid of all the rubbish squad players we have this Would allow us to free loads of money for wages for quality signings and have young players on the bench wanting to prove a point.
To me it is a no brainier but we seem intent on trying to spend our way to finish above Celtic and stop ten in a row and it just is not working to many average players in our squad youth could do no worse as squad players to start with.
Every team in the league have youngsters starting apart from us.
Gerrard does need put his faith in them and start some of these players or at least get them on the bench.
Our youth are good enough its just we are not using them like now were we ain't using mccorie or Middleton and eirler katic some decisions are baffling by our manager.

Hey guys I totally agree that if they are good enough but you will never know if you don't play them. Just look at the other side of the city and across Scottish football in general.

Now look at us katic was playing brill dropped Middleton either scorering or setting up a goal every couple of games dropped, mc Crorie playing his best football dropped.

So if what we are saying is that if your good enough then you should play. Imo these boys are good enough but never get a regular run in the team.

Would like to ask you lads a question, why is it that a lot of posters on this site don’t care about their national team? As a NI and Rangers supporter, I always want best for both teams, I would class myself as a loyalist not just unionist and I love my wee national team. The Scottish people are very patriotic people, that’s why I find it strange.

Me personally like yourself Ulsterman I’m a Unionist but I’m Scottish . I believe that the SFA and SPFL make life hard for Rangers at any given opportunity. Senior figures have came out in the press and admitted themselves that they could have done more for us in the run up to the Europa League final and Manchester but choose not too and these people are supposed to do what’s best for Scottish football so when one of your country’s teams gets to a final and you don’t help them in anyway you can seems like Anit-Rangers too me plus I’ve seen Ian Black and Ryan Jack both bood by there own fans (Scotland fans) while representing there country . My dad used too tell me of times he went to Scotland games on Rangers busses with Union Jack flags went too Wembley and there was no English there . Changed days .

Don’t know about you Ulsterman but Rangers comes before everything aside from my family .

The SFA extended the league for you the year you got to the final, which is more than they done for us in 2003. Also they postponed games for you earlier in the season, which again is more than they done for us.

Ulsterman Rangers played 4 games in 10 days before a European final and as I said in my previous post a few months ago in the Sun I read an ex SFA employee admiring they could have done more and chose not to .

As for Scotland we are the worst football team out of all the home nations IMO I watched use against Estonia deserved to wi. nd very strong at Windsor park.

By the way the person you are talking about is George Peat and he said that the SFA couldn't help you as the SPL fixtures were determined by the SPL and it angered him, probably because he is a blue nose. It was Peter Lawwell who told them where to go when they tried to do more jiggery pockery to help you out, as we were not aforded any help in 2002/ 03.

@ lennon at work let's not talk about that eh buddy were the had the extension first time ever in history. Yet were was celtics extension Got there fixtures moved to help them yet still were not happy. Maybe the sfa should have just gave them the points instead of playing the matches and let them stay fresh for the knuckle drag run to the uefa cup final. Anthoerbear what other sort of help apart from league being extended were use looking for. In what other way possible could use have been helped.

Aye 4 games in 8 days and 5 in 11 was a great help. Zenit had a full week and a half to prepare. I remember Dick Advocaat, the Zenit manager, remarking on how he wasn't surprised at the "help" we got prior to the final. Your lot had an unencumbered run to the final that year, assisted by your feeder club (Dundee Hibs) . When that same rancid lot were asked to assist us in the same manner they refused. Par for the course.

You got the help earlier in the season as they postponed matches before important fixtures, which was more than we got.

You also got the season extended to help you, albeit a very short extension, which again was more than we got.

I don't recall any Celtic fan moaning that we didn't get help when we got to UEFA final, probably because we don't have that sense of entitlement the Rangers' fans have.

Rangers had 5 games in the same period. Absolute head banger to claim Celtic didn't receive any help and Rangers did! What help did Celtic need in that period exactly?

Lennonatwork what games were postponed during that season to help us out? Also what ever did happen on the end of season tour of japan plus the fixture backlog was due to the death of Phil O’Donnell and severe weather conditions.
