Packages for both have been agreed in principle it's just the question of who no manager will have a contract with a massive wage we simply can't afford to pay that much we have to be responsible and not leave us exposed to having to pay off such a huge amount of money.

Paying him that much is an investment and he could easily make it back. If he gets a tune out of any of the underperforming players and their value increases he’s basically paid for himself.

2.5 is not much compared to our last managers in respect that they had very little experience to justify high wage Clement actually has a track record and only right he is worth a bit more.

Without a good manager you win nothing. For success 2.5 year well worth it as trophies and euro runs bring more money in and if he has an eye for a player then money to be made in the future with player sales. It’s an investment. We can afford 2.5m a year ??????.

How would anyone know the details of what money the candidates are asking for? If it was true and Rangers weren`t prepared to pay it, they would have moved on and not be considering Clement as a possible. That said, the right guy would be worth it and pay it back to the club by success that brings financial rewards from Europe, improved sponsorship and increasing value of players. One great manager is more valuable to the club than one great player.

To get the best you need to pay the money, same in terms of signing new players. The quality of players signed in the past few seasons has been totally underwhelming. The Board worryingly will probably go with Muscat on a hope and a prayers, most likely giving consideration to the comments of the exCeltic Boss. Let's see what next week brings.
