Apparently Mcleish had a big input in the final shortlist but advised the board to go with Muscat. Muscat can't start until after the international break, whereas Clement could start earlier, that was the disagreement in the boardroom and there was a disagreement despite the denial.

Agree1 Disagree0

Even if there is a split between board members, they're never going to come out and openly admit to this, are they?
I'd be very surprised if many decisions like this have a 100% majority vote in favour of one candidate over the others. Maybe if a Pep or a Klopp was the candidate, then there might be a 100% agreement, but who knows?

Out of the two I’d probably opt for clement however muscit has a few pros in my opinion he knows the league and what he’ll be up against especially bus parkers. I would also say Craig moor would maybe be a decent dof for muskit to work under. Craig also knows the league inside out, they wouldn’t be my first choice however.

I don't want Clement personally. He had success in Belgium yes but Scottish football is different and when he went to another league, he failed. Muscat, although i didn't rate him as a player, seems to have more fire in his belly as a manager than Clement does.

Having McLeish pick his ex player as a manager over someone he doesn`t know doesn`t seem a very smart way to go about things. Someone like Souness who is completely impartial made far more sense. I don`t get the Craig Moore as DOF supporters . He bumps his gums on a podcast and he`s Australian but in reality what qualifications does he have for that job? Even if Muscat gets it, we want someone who can work with him but not necessarily be his buddy . At some point he might have to get rid of him, so could he do that?

I'm not in favour of Craig More getting the DoF role, it just looks like the usual 'Old pals' Act.

In any event, let's see what happens with the managers job. Whoever gets it needs to hit the ground running, otherwise it will be more of the same.

We can't even agree on best candidate on here so it stands to reason the board would be same don't see anything wrong with that.

They will just have to take it down to logic or a scoring system.

Personally i think it's a very tough decision on one hand you have muscat/ McCann who will know the problems already and know the opposition thanks to McCann but think they would tend lean towards players and formations we have already seen

Clement I think would shake things up more and not go on past reputation, but I don't think the players would take to him as well.

Was Moore not the one that recommended Ange to rangers and we ignored him ?

People are assuming Moore is not right for job when he very well could be great.

When would he have recommended Ange to Rangers? He was already in place at Celtic when Gerrard left so there hadn`t been a vacancy for 3 years . Did Moore recommend Ange pre Gerrard or was he trying to make suggestions when Gerrard was still in the job? He claims to have recommended the Napoli winger to Rangers before he went to Italy and was ignored but given that he went for £11 million that is probably the reason .
