I'll throw this out there . would we move on a cash plus swap for Shankland that would include McAusland? . Possibly with a sell on clause for the young fella. Or possibl a loan . not as daft as it sounds considering Lowry is already on loan. or has the good ship Shankland already sailed?

Shankland has a year and a half left on his deal at hearts I’m pretty sure. Hearts will be looking to move him on in the summer imo. I don’t think we should go for him in Jan between Sima, Danilo and Roofe that’s enough to play striker for the rest of the season. Once Roofe is out of contract and Sima is back at Brighton we should be pulling the trigger on Shankland. I’ve not even included Dessers who’ll get game time unless sold in Jan which I can’t see happening. Also got Lovelace coming back from injury.
We won’t sign a striker in Jan when we have Danilo, Dessers, Lammers, Sima, Roofe and Lovelace who can all play there. Would need to get rid of Lammers or Dessers for another striker to come in.

Lowry may got to hearts permanently as he is making it at rangers. Mccausland has a good chance.

Not a chance. McAusland has a real chance of breaking through and being a big player for us for years. £2m for Shankland in the summer or look elsewhere.

Have a friend have a word in shanklands ear and go back in when in last year of deal if hearts difficult just tell him we will be back in a year or 6 months he wouldn't come to us in January anyway why would he risk a euro slot by sitting on rangers bench.

David I don't see Hearts wanting to move on their Captain in the Summer. It might be that they receive an acceptable bid and he goes but I doubt Hearts or indeed their fans would want that to happen.

McCausland could be worth a fortune to us, saving us money by not needing too bring someone in and possibly leave for big money in future, Hearts will not sell Shankland in January unless big money involved, less money in summer and we might have been able to get rid of a couple of this summers mistakes by then.

There is no way we should be swapping someone like Ross McCausland to Hearts . As someone has said leave Shankland where he is until the summer and the price will come down because he only has a year left on his deal . This excuse can be used by Hearts to appease their fans if they sell him. At his age and his failed spell abroad I don`t think we will have too much competition if we really want him.
