Daily record claim we re looking for 2.5m for Lammers, surely he's worth more at least 3.5 we paid.

Agree10 Disagree0

Guesswork from a gutter rag.

08 Jun 2024 17:12:59
I wouldn’t believe anything that’s in the papers.

08 Jun 2024 17:42:11
I came here as I literally just read that - so Lammers goes to a supposedly stronger league, breaks a long-standing club record, wins personal achievements and we except only 2.5
I’m glad someone has just said it’s made up because that would be silly to throw away money, when money is what we need.

I’m also tho not of the opinion that he’s worth a great deal more either maybe a bit more but on SM I see people saying 6-7 million and nah it’s not realistic. If we could get 4.5 million, I’d probably be OK with that. Normally, what something or someone’s worth is what people are prepared to pay. And the Dutch league only has a small number of clubs that could potentially pay that. And even a couple of them wouldn’t want Lammers.

I’d bite your hand off for 4.5 million. I don’t know what anyone else would take tho. I would just say keep it realistic because we can only sell him to one league. Failed in Germany, Italy, a few clubs in Scotland. I’d sell now as well because I’ve got a bad feeling that was just a purple patch, because he hadn’t scored goals like that in about 5 years.

Sam Lammers wages are a bit of an issue for Eredivisie clubs outside of their top 3. Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV . Making a profit on Lammers was never the intention getting as much back and getting him off our wage bill is. We need to be realistic or be stuck with him sadly.

08 Jun 2024 18:21:11
87 what makes u think Rangers expect 2.5.

08 Jun 2024 18:24:45
Robert we will make cash on Lammers, not planned obviously but we'll make cash.

08 Jun 2024 18:39:24
If the Daily Rhebel said the sky was blue, I'd look out the window and check. Nothing but a fanzine for the puddlers!

08 jun 2024 18:39:57
lets see what he goes for, always a laugh when someone reads the papers then comes online, to slaughter the papers.

08 Jun 2024 19:17:17
The papers are absolute nonsense these days it’s a dying industry. Thankfully.

08 Jun 2024 19:34:50
I used too love the papers, spent many a time when on lunch from school reading all them in woolworths getting all the information on transfers.

08 Jun 2024 19:54:19
Once again the celtic media print lies with regards to unvalueing our players. Had lammers been a celtic player and loaned out doing well. You can bet they would be printing 6 mill price tag. According to the DR bassey was on the move for 4 million and list goes on.

08 Jun 2024 19:55:20
Hope so My Star . Another thing to consider if FC Twente are indeed the club showing interest is the possibilty we face them in CL qualifiers and big Sam might want to prove a point or two.

08 Jun 2024 20:01:50
Lammers just had a great season in Holland. A league where many teams from top 5 leagues spend big money on players and managers. He’s worth more than €2.5m.

08 Jun 2024 20:54:16
Tt I thought this was a rumours page no matter the source.

08 Jun 2024 21:05:58
Unfortunately amortisation means his value will have dropped from when we signed him especially as it's clear we don't want him. Thankfully he had a good 6 months so there is interest but it's the Dutch league and they aren't rich either. Need to be realistic. Will be doing well to break even.

08 jun 2024 21:09:32
why on earth would anyone want an entire industry to die . that would include printers, and reel men, the many other workers in a print factory, journalists, people who sell them, deliver them,

nah, i don’t want any industry to die, i had many old pals in the press, and i know they were great people.

08 Jun 2024 21:46:35
Kaiser, amortization? Lammers is valued at what the highest bidder will pay, and after a good part year in Holland hos value must be more than we paid for him.

08 Jun 2024 21:50:19
I think Storm was just clumsy with his words, i'm sure he does not want hardworking folks to lose their jobs but probably meant it was an industry on the decline. However let's not mix up serious journalism with the pish we associate with the rags, Journalism is key to western democracy.

08 Jun 2024 22:59:24
He’s 12 months further into his contract than when we bought him and he had a horrendous 1st half of season and a decent 2nd half in Eredivisie not outstanding as people make out. We also want to sell him why would people expect us to get more than we paid when we paid a premium to get him. If we get £2m or more and him off wage bill that will be great business.

08 Jun 2024 23:15:59
2m lol fifty he ain't going for 2m.

09 Jun 2024 00:36:40
Lammers was valued at 2 mill when he left on loan to Utrecht, his value has increased by 3 million, now valued at 5 mill euros, so we can at least expect 4-5 million, the fact he was not played in his proper position for years, likely since he left PSV for his 12 million move to Serie A, and the fact a manager actually had the common sense to play him in his natural position CF, and not as a LW / CAM (Rangers) is it any wonder he is scoring regularly again.
We have a bad habit of offloading goalscoring team members, look at Sakala for example 31 games since leaving, involved directly in 25 goals, scoring 19, assisting 6, but not good enough for rangers, sold for 4 mill, current value 6 mill and climbing.

Lammers has won, The Dutch league, The Scottish league cup and the Europa league cup, and has several clubs interested as acquiring him as there CF, both in Holland and clubs from other european leagues.

Perhaps if we ever find a manager that plays his 1st team players in their correct positions we will start making some serious progress again.

09 Jun 2024 02:00:23
John why I’d expect Rangers to expect 2.5 million? I don’t that’s just it. One Walter started the convo with a story I read on RRN about that price being only 2.5 and almost like we’re trying to offload quick to put back into a squad- didn’t think it sounded right, so I came here to find some sanity.

It was just a story tho. I came to have it unverified myself if that makes sense although tbh I shouldn’t really have needed to.

09 Jun 2024 08:29:04
I’d take a bag of balls, some new bibs, cones and a Morrisons sandwisch platter for him.

09 Jun 2024 08:44:06
TJBB cheers obviously I don’t want anyone losing there jobs.

More and more people are stopping buying papers it’s only the older generation that are mainly buying them.
The same way not many people are shopping on the high streets anymore.

TT I use to love reading papers back in the day apart from the sun for obvious reasons. I wouldn’t even wipe my bum with that rag.
But everything is moving on line these days.
Times are changing and have been for a while now. Youngsters are getting info from buying papers. The majority of the red tops print lies after lies and whether you new people in industry back in the day is irrelevant to now.

09 Jun 2024 08:48:18
I think what storm said is correct. A majority of papers print absolute nonsense. . How many times have we seen newspapers being sued for multi millions for printing absolute trash on super sensitive issues etc. No not all journos are bad but nowadays there are a lot that are simply horrendous. As for being a dying industry it’s correct. Eventually they will stop printing papers as everything is done online and in the near future they will get AI to write the stories as why pay a human when a computer can do the job and probably be more factual. It’s coming like it or not.

09 jun 2024 10:10:13
True stories or not, usually depends on what paper you take. i read the guardian, i no longer buy red tops. i agree they have gone downhill, but many stories online or rumours given are nonsense too. reading newspapers is a hobby, a part of life still for millions, and like a good book, it's far better to read news from your paper than it is online, imo.

09 Jun 2024 12:49:54
I actually miss reading the papers, running over to the BP garage during transfer windows to read it with my breakfast on a Sunday was definitely my favourite, making sure not to see the back page before I sat down to eat, for me the barrage against my club with sheer delight and bias left a bitter taste in my mouth so my paper buying or reading days are well and truly over.
