The boy from Bayern looks an underwhelming signing tbh. Not a regular starter in the bundesliga2 for Schalke. Not eye catching footage either. Dukanovic, Traore or the African boy looked much better. No doubt another cheap option using the funds Bayern are due us for Tillman.

Monty, from memory tillman had played c90 minutes of professional football at Bayern when we signed him on loan. I do hold reservations about signing players without a track record to point at, but this guy is 20 and has game time in a league that I imagine is every but as good as ours in the German second division. I also don't think any of these youngsters will be expected to start every game, and there will be more established players coming in to the first 11 in due course (likely later in the summer when we have chatted a few out) . I think the move towards youth can only be a good thing for us, so long as it's moderated with a few established players.

The German 2nd tier is Mike’s ahead of Scotland we struggled against a side who didn’t even finish top 4 in jan from that league. Schalke fans rate the boy but their in financial turmoil so can’t afford him.

Think we also need to be mindful that PC seeks out younger players not just for their lower value/ price, but also I believe with an eye on ‘improving’ them as players and individuals.
As has been said Bayern don’t have players kicking about for fun and playing around 24 games for an up and down Schalke team doesn’t mean a player is bad.
New environment, country, system and coaching can allow players to blossom…
Let’s face it ‘O’Reilly’ don’t have them salivating across the road when signed, but look at him now…

Players need to adapt to a style of play, lammers is decent, but just not for scotland, he needs time on the ball and space, you don't get that here, he has shown that being on loan, if a player has had a off season in a different league doesn't mean he will be rubbish for us, give the guys time to settle in.

Clement didn’t invent this. We did this with Bassey and Aribo. Buy young, develop, and sell for profit, is a concept that has been around for decades. Until we start selling players for profit we won’t get the player trading model to work.
Don’t get me wrong, we have bought plenty of young players. But far too often they stagnate, or Rangers don’t sell for profit when they should. We need to develop our young players more. We need to be selling players for profit every summer.

To be honest I can see where monty coming from looked similar to Wright for me but sometimes a change of environment can suit a player and agree should be judged on what he does for rangers and nobody else.
Poster was only voicing an honest opinion should be able to do that among other rangers fans without getting hounded

Are rumours of unrest in the dressing room true? 4 wins out our last 10 league games is poor considering the run we went on prior to that. I'm trying to pinpoint something that may have changed the players mindset and I go back to Clements press conference before benfica where I felt he had us beat before a ball was kicked with some comments?
Similar to comments made by Gio before champions league games. Just a thought, may not be any unrest but seems there was a mindset change at some point.

Clement is an intelligent man but I guess agents might be told and naturally they’ll tell players. It’s the only plausible explanation as some of the players have simply downed tools. I’d have thought if you had a chance of a medal in your career then you’d still bust a gut but maybe it’s only about money. Anyway, time to move on with a fresh, hungry squad. I think the players punched above their weight once Phil came in and eventually reverted back to type. Tavernier goldson Lundstram barasic and others have seen too many defeats and I feel they have PTSD when it comes to old firm games or games where we can go top of the league or stretch out a lead at the top. Injuries have played their part too but I feel a lot of our players don't have what it takes to win trophies regularly. Just my opinion.

I agree with John, either some players have been told they won’t be part of next season or in a round about way they’ve found out they’re not going to be and that’s spread about the dressing room to where they’re not pulling in the same direction! Have a suspicion it’s the serial loser group of senior players like Tav, Goldson, Barasic, Lundstrum, Jack, Roofe and the likes that’s at the heart of this - most have been hiding for months and Tavernier been taken off free kicks and corners the last few games shows there’s been a shift in his overall “leadership”.

to be honest I would have told them all at winter break that their positions at the club were on the line.
The real players would show up and prove themselves.
The weaker players would shrink and we can now identify those players and get rid of them. Yes it may have cost us this years league title but to be honest not buying a good striker (cough* shankland *cough) cost us the league anyways.
And another thing, Celtic were terrible for that spell and we all know that spell wouldn't last and they finished the season strong, compared to us that bottled it.
Plan properly for next season and get a good clear out, sign some young talent (Watson, Barron, Miller, i'd even look at Theo Bair at this point) .
League title next season is a must and hopefully PC is the man to bring it home.

Folks I never understand the falling out on here. So looking at John's posts. I for one have always believed that footballers like any other employee will do what's right for them. Is it possible due to Goldsons son he can't paly due to mental issues thus protected.
Don't really know anything about to to be honest. Davis and Souter being mentioned. Is Jack keeping himself fit for Scotland but not for Rangers, to allow him to play in a major championship. Are Rangers helping him to achieve that fitness wise and he is not part of the future. Who knows. He did single out Lundstrum for his effort in the last couple of months, maybe playing with niggles etc again who knows.
I suppose its sometimes about duty of care and a bit of give from the employer. not always Rangers to the core. What it has shown is that we don't have strength in depth and that a new leadership core is required.

If what john27 said is true and John regularly posts reliable information then this was a bad move by PC. I can understand others posts finding it hard to believe but none the less if true it’s very concerning. I also agree with other replies that a lot of these players have consistently let themselves, the team and the fans down when the pressure is on. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes with these players and perhaps they forced the managers hand with bad attitudes etc. It is genuinely time for big changes at Rangers, If we ever want to move forward. Hopefully the board and the manager find a way ?.

When I first suggested it mate I wasn’t aware Kelly was Motherwell captain. In fact it couldn’t remember where he went after livi off top of my head. But I think now was qpr as no2? Then Motherwell. ?

I think mccrorie every bit as good a keeper as Kelly and the only reason it wouldn’t happen is Kelly’s international chances. But Gunn has that nailed down now. I think everyone is missing the all important part, IF the Kelly rumour is true, he is a former Rangers player so he he knows the expectations of the club, he’s a Rangers supporter too and gets what it is to pull on the blue jersey (or yellow in his case) but the type of voice we need in the dressing room, it’s all very well having all these great players coming in (great on paper and for the club they’ve come from) but a lot of them don’t understand the difference between playing at clubs who are afforded draws and certain losses by their fans where as we expect them to win every time they go out on that pitch to represent our institution, having Gers men in the dressing room can help get that message across, even just on the pitch, you look at that mob across the city and how their performances dip slightly when their captain is absent from the games. Something we haven’t had since Barry was captain is someone to grab the team, NOT the game, the team, by the scruff of the neck and drag them through the matches where teams have battled hard or where they needed a kick up the arse during an Old Firm, I’m not saying LK would be the answer to that but being Motherwell club captain can only help, I think Niko and Cantwell will be very prominent this year in their leadership on the pitch, Tav for me is never a Rangers captain, great servant to the club but never seen him vocal enough for my liking, what I did like in the Hoffenheim game was Jack Butland holding the ball and talking to his back 4 about what they need to stop, what they need to do better and that’s exactly why Jon M should never be back near our playing squad, that and THAT pass in the OF!

The reports on here that they’re working on bringing in a replacement before selling him will be on the right track imo. Thoughts on the rangers away top? I thought it looked really nice so ordered it for me and the wee man for going away on holiday next week. Had to order from sports direct as rangers and Castore only had pre order option for my size. I ordered medium like every other top I order.
Like quite a tight fit. This top seems massive for a medium. Very baggy compared to every other medium. Material doesn't seem great either tbh. Probs worst quality top I've had yet from Castore.

I’m more concerned with the quality of players in the jersey. So far this window our recruitment has been a shambles all these leaks on players coming to the club and then missing out on them . Koppen needs to keep his cards close to his chest and announce players when they have signed. It’s shoddy and unprofessional .

Davies was fine and what of we took the Rosk on yolmaz and he ended up out for longer where's the duty of care to the player or the respect for medics long gone are the days when a club could run a player into the ground not caring about consequences lunny I agree but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

We went playing well and didn’t deserve to win the game even before Lundstrum got sent off and that certainly didn't help things.

We have a number of players leaving at the end of this season that this season and arguably last season have contributed little for various reasons. The fact that with or without these players we have trailed Celtic and we just can't compete with them in a one on one encounter.
We need to significantly up the quality and the character of the players in our squad.
We need to have a mixture of experience and young players that are better than what we have generally had over the past seasons.
When we talk about experienced players I am not talking about Souttar who is as poor as the other defenders at the club.

I'd happily sell Tav and Goldson this summer. 7.5m for Tav and 3.5m-4.5m for Goldson would be good business in my opinion. We need to bring in money selling players come the summer. 4.5m of our budget is already being spent on Diomande.
Fans also want Sima permanently. I'd let both them go along with all our out of contract players. Scott wright, Ben davies, Rabbi Matondo also need moved on. Matondo on far too high of a wage for an "impact player". Not consistent enough to start games. Can be excellent and hopeless but more the latter. Big rebuild needed this summer again!

I can see the Saudi's paying a decent fee for Tav and although some might not see it, he will be a success out there if he can settle.
This is a country where money is no object and even a fee of £5m / £10m to secure the top scoring defender in the UK who has won The league and a Cup as well as captaining his side to a European Final, will be box office.
We need to stop down playing our own players just because they play in a rubbish league like the SPL.
With Goldson he doesn't have the track record of Tav., in terms of goals scored, deadball accuracy etc., and as such I would be surprised if we could secure even £2m for him even if the Gerrard press rumours were true.
The biggest benefit for us is getting him off our books and saving his wage so long as we don't then throw the money away on another poor signing.
